Ugh! Don't get me started with Teen Titans

Robin/Starfire & Beast Boy/Terra only happened because they were relationships from the original comicbook source material of NTT from the Wolfman/Perez era. Beast Boy/Raven despite being popular with a considerable amount of the fanbase, it meant diddly-squat to TPTB. BB/Raven remained friends to the bitter end on the show. Beast Boy/Raven [romance] only happened in the comics during the last recent run from Geoff Johns.

Anyway with LU; I won't hold my breath for any ship to happen. And, in of all likelihood, it'll probably be for the best that nothing happens.

On a different note, after re-watching A Creep in the Deep; some things I noticed:

In the beginning of the episode, Danger and Lexi are hanging out together. (He doesn't pay much attention to Lexi's nausea but neither does any of the other Loonatics. )

After Danger saves the Loonatics' boat from the whirlpool; he chooses Lexi to go along with him for the mission to save Ace.

Danger was the one to encourage Lexi to utilize her aquatically altered Brain Blast when she was too timid to try again.

Yes, Ace is the first to bring up the issue of Danger and Lexi working together as a team. But Danger does mention Lexi and him being a team right when he decides to take Lexi with him to save Slam and Rev from the whale. (That was the part I was vaguely remembering. aww )

Danger refers to Lexi as "partner" when they go to stop the generated whirlpool.

Overall, Danger seemed very enthusiastic with the notion of working with Lexi. For me, that seems kind of unusual given that Danger is supposedly a glory hound. I would think that someone with his personality wouldn't want to share the spotlight with anybody. So I guess him wanting to work with Lexi in such a capacity does kind of put up a red flag. But who knows, TPTB probably wanted to show the power of cooperation or something. I dunno....

With the stark difference of Danger's behavior towards Lexi from A Creep in the Deep to It Came From Outer Space*[**]; I wonder if Outer Space takes place in the show's canon timeline before Deep. Because if Deep happened before Outer Space, Danger and Lexi must've had a falling out of some sorts. But then by Apocalypso**, they seem to be on reasonably good terms again.

*While Danger is somewhat callous towards Lexi; there are some moments that show he's still her friend. He did seem earnest in his (so-called) commiserative chat with Lexi. He was horrified that Lexi left because she took his (so-called) advice. (Lexi sure does highly value Danger's opinions. I'm not so sure if that's always a good thing; especially in this case. ) He made sure that he was the first person of the rescue team to greet her and he even claimed to be the one to head up the mission. blankstare

**What is it with Danger trying to get his hands on Lexi's clothes? She just better keep tabs on her panties; that's all I have to say.

Duck and Lexi? That's actually likely. Heck any coupling is somewhat likeley. Love is that unpredictable creature that makes you fall in love with one person, but in the end, you wind up marrying somebody else.

True, WB will have the final word. But what happens when, if ever, we receive that word? Chances are we`ll just make our stories "semi-alternate universes" to incorporate the pairing we want. Although, chances are even more likely that WB will never really give us confirmation one way or another, and thus drive us crazy for eternity.

On the bright side, at least we avoid the pitfall that some fan communities (such as the StH community majority) fall into by letting different opiniuons divide us. In the end, we all love LU, and we realize that`s what`s most important.

That's very profound. I was thinking about that the other day. I believe there's an assumption (and I'm guilty of it too) that Ace and Lexi are meant to be together because they are both bunnies of the opposite sex. I hope the show's writers aren't so lazy to think that they don't have to set-up a romance because of that assumption. I would prefer for Loonatics: Unleashed (or any show) to buildup towards a romance.

I have to think about that, if the characters were all humans where would I assume that the writers were possibly going in terms of romance.

I guess I would be more inclined to look for shippiness since Lexi wouldn't be considered the only female (in terms of the anthros) since she would be human like Zadavia. There would be two women (of the same species) therefore the writers could keep one single (most likely Zadavia) to appease feminist sensibilities. That would free up Lexi to be shipped with anybody, most likely a colleague. Ace/Lexi would still be a strong contender because of Ace's alpha status. But since Danger/Lexi interact more often and have more suggestive dealings with each other, I would take Danger/Lexi far more seriously. (*sigh* I hope that makes sense. )

Yikes! So begins the Ace/Lexi and Duck/Lexi debate! I do think in this second season, Duck and Lexi have been portrayed working together alot more than in S1, but i don't feel that it's an indicator of them possibly having romantic feelings toward one another. The writers just figured it was funny putting the comical character of Duck with the strong female character of Lexi.

For some reason I kind of remember Duck telling Lexi something about them working well together but until the episode is rebroadcast (or worse, until the second season DVD comes out) that supposed exchange will be hearsay.

Ace encouraging Danger and Lexi working together; most likely means that Ace's mind is on business and not pleasure, especially with Lexi. It's just one of the reasons why I don't think the writers have "officially" shipped Lexi with any of her colleagues yet. Personally, I need to be hit with a huge shippy anvil in order to believe that Lexi is romantically linked to Ace and/or Danger.

Right now, I think the Danger/Lexi moments are purely for fun. I assume that the writers might be more willing to show Lexi and Danger in dodgier moments because they probably believe that most people wouldn't immediately consider Danger and Lexi to be romantically linked. I believe that the writers can get away with a lot more with Danger and Lexi before a romance might even be considered feasible. Think about some of the situations Danger and Lexi have been in, now if Lexi had experienced those exact same moments with Ace, I believe a lot of people would assume those very same moments as shippy. It's like if Ace falls on top of Lexi, it's shippy; if Danger falls on top of Lexi, it's comedy.

True... but still... if all were human and no bunnies, Duck, coyotes, etc.... I think people will yhink different (or maybe no)...

I see more for the personality... Ace is too boyscout for Lexi... I think she is someone who like "Bad Boys"... maybe I'm wrong, but is how I feel...

And that "friendship" between Laxi and Duck is since the first season (but is more strong in the second one)... is true maybe WB will make a Lexi/Ace pairing... or maybe any pairing... but still it would be great something different... unexpected...

No... I see her more with Duck... and I have that feeling since the first season... the first chapter of the loonatics that I saw was the one with the rocks... since that moment I said: those two look great together...

Ace is someone that no girl can catch... and I see him a little cold in romantic... Duck is more... how can I say it... hot... is true he is a jerk... and with Lexi too... but still she is always with him...

Is funny, I saw all the chapters of the first season this weekend (a special of loonatics in cartoon network) and each time someone of the team is angry with Duck, the only one who use his powers against him is Lexi... and with a smile (in the rock chapter... she was smiling)... and she doesn't like it when he forgot her name... (but I think he did that to annoy  that wheater gorl (I'm bad with the names... more because I saw those chapters in spanish and I know they name in snglish... but I forget how to write them)...

Fore me is not bad a Ace/Lexi pairing (yes... kill me!!!)... but I don't see those two together, the only thing they have in common is that they are of the same specie... maybe I'm wrong... but think about the loonatics like humans... like I do... that's why I see Ace with Zadavia too... jejejejejejejeje

IMHO, both versions are suggestive; but the Spanish version sounds a tad naughtier.

In reference to the Spanish version: That's funny because the other day when I was watching the DVD, I was wondering about how the show's jokes are translated into other languages. I know that when non-US/non-English cartoons are translated for the states, supposedly a lot is lost in the translation.

Anyways, there was a Danger quote from A Creep in the Deep; about how he and Lexi make a good team ... or something like that. Anybody has or remembers the exact quote?

Hmm, it seems the show's writers possibly like to have a bit of dodgy fun with Lexi and Danger. Well, I guess that's in keeping with the MM/LT legacy of there being a bit of suggestive naughtiness strewn about in their cartoons.

Um, I think that`s a reference to what Duck was saying earlier about how he`s not particularly fond of places where roasted duck with orange sauce is a dish (or something like that). He also comments that if anyone starts drooling, he`s quacking outta there. Not so much innuendo to me, but then again I`m Ace/Lexi, so...moot argument.

(Sorry, Crossfire. *blush*)

You're right about the feathers only being black, Lumosnight. Supposedly, I've heard that for hunting wild ducks, black ducks are considered to be the tastiest.

Speaking of naughtiness...

I noticed from the show what I felt were some dodgy Danger/Lexi moments:

Stop The World, I Want To Get Off—The antigravity Duck/Lexi tussle. My goodness ... 'nuff said. Massive must be a Danger/Lexi shipper.

The Hunter—Danger's bump to the bottom. Lexi had a smirk on her face as she was seemly looking towards Duck's backside. Also, from the distance Lexi was standing from Danger and from their positioning, she would've had to have slapped him on the bottom for him to have been hit from where he was standing. Even though Lexi didn't do such a thing, the implication is there.

Apocalypso—The part where Danger and Lexi utilized their powers to refuel the ship. I won't dwell on postulated cryptic symbolism (especially since there could be minors reading this *blush*) but there seemed to be an "erotic" overtone.

On a different note, I noticed that in The Comet Cometh. It seems that while the other Loonatics recollected their past in their private thoughts; Danger and Lexi shared their past with one another.

And when they were in the chinese town and fight against those rocks (it was Danger who save her and he looked angry)... and when she said to the Duck: you look delicious (well is taht she said in the spanish version)

And i have black hair too! But i don't consider myself that passionate really...
