Just seen the "Cape Duck"sneak peak video on the Kids WB site featuring the Loonatics vs. Dr. Dare round 2! And i finally heard Tech's howl! WHOOHOO! *Jumps around like the mad Tech fangirl i am.* Tech was awesome! *Drools.* Sorry, i just had to let that out. I thought people were saying this was the ep where Tech was scared witless? Aside from Tech's coolness, i'm wondering what became of all those poor people that were, um, 'stoned', literally by Dare's shield of Perseus? Were they restored to flesh and blood after the Loonatics re-solidified Dare?
Since this is a kid-friendly cartoon, I'll just go ahead and assume that, yes, they were all alright (sp?) in the end. :)

to anyone else whos seen the episode..did anyone else think it was stupid for tech to be afraid of the stomper? the guy has metal arms! (a friend of mine described stomper as a homicidal inspector gadget:). Tech could have taken him easily!
i'm not saying tech shouldn't be afraid of anyone,i'm just saying him being afraid of this guy seemed out of place.

I actually raised that point a while ago as well. Theoretically, Stomper with his metal arms shouldn't be a particular threat to Tech, or Tech at least should have some defence aginst him with his magnetic powers. But i guess the writers figured it'd be more entertaining for viewers to see Duck and Tech running scared for their lives.
I've been thinking lately that perhaps one of the reasons Tech seems to rely more on his inventions rather than his powers in battle is because his magnetic powers are simply not very strong. Maybe he struggles to maintain concentrated electromagnetic pulses when lifting or bending larger metal objects? The bigger it is, the more difficult it will be for him to handle. His level of magnetic powers may not be as advanced and developed as say Magneto's.
hmm, most likely not as advanced as magneto (though in one rp with the same friend who made the inspector gadget crack tech used his power to draw iron from his blood a little at a time to form a weapon with the iron. long story on that. and it was only a rp speculation case.). however i do remember a time when Tech used his powers to hold up that elevator in acmegeddon part one. so the wya i see it he COULD have thrashed stomper easily. If he can hold up an metal elevator for a bit he can lift a guy with metal arms and hurl him into a wall.

Tech also lifted and completely crushed a whole metal signal tower (or some kind of tall structure) into a ball and tossed it at the Weathervane dragon in "Weathering Heights"! Going back somewhat on my previous suggested theory, Tech probably is capable of handling large metal constructs, but he may not be able to maintain the effort to, say, lift and affect several metal objects in different places at once. I dunno, or maybe Tech just loves his inventions too much!
Martiangirl suggested before i think that maybe Tech was trying not to harm Stomper to a fatal extent, so he refrained from using his magnetic powers on him. Possible? But they probably didn't make that an obvious reason for Tech holding back in the ep. Darn!

Well, Tech's electromagnetic powers are certainly powerful (he used them to hold up an elevator, a bridge, and the arm of the giant Robo Amigo). He probably could have used them to fight the Stomper in the beginning, unless the guy was out of range for him or something when he was on the skyscraper. But in the middle of the episode, when Tech and Duck was being stalked, they couldn't actually see him when he attacked (it was just random falling objects that appeared out of seemingly no where). I know that Tech had several good shots at the Stomper in the sewer, so why he didn't attack him them is speculative. Perhaps he was just too freaked out at that point to think straight (I mean it did take them a long while for either of them to remember Duck's Aqua Dense powers). I think the writers this season are relying a little too much on Tech's inventions and not enough on either of his powers. What's the point of them if they're not going to showcase them?

Yeah. I thought Tech being scared was strange too. He never seems to worry about anything and seems confident most of the time. But I suppose if we don't see Tech scared then he might end up like Ace. But I don't think that's the case, seeing as most of the fan girls here are Tech fans.

If the first weekend of Feb will be showing a new ep, then perhaps there'll be a commercial after "Cape Duck" this Saturday? Just keep watching through the credits people and if you see anything, report back here ASAP!
My guess is that Tech was afraid of the Stomper 'cause he knows the limitations of his powers. I think that Tech can lift things like paper clips 'cause they'e lifeless objects. But if someone/thing was controlling them directly (Trollbot 9000, Saggitarius Stomper), Tech wouldn't be able to use his powers. But if the metal as being controlled indirectly (train in Music Villain, elevator in Acmegeddon Part 1), he can be awesome and use his powers. /rambling that no one really cares about
Hmm, that's a possible explanantion as to why Tech might not be able to manipulate some metals. Though i think it's more likely that the writers just decided that it'd be too easy if Tech just crushed Stomper's metal limbs. If he'd been able to do that, then there wouldn't have been that whole Stomper chasing Tech and Duck in the sewers scenes! It probably would have raised less questions and not made Tech seem out of character a bit if another of the Loonatics had been with Duck. Oh well, Tech did have some cool moments in "Cape Duck". *Thinks of his howling scene.*
