Since my latest fanfic is about Jamie, Tech, Rev, and Mallory's greatest fears, I thought we can use this thread to talk about what our fears are. My biggest fear is snakes. I once saw a movie where a lion dies after being bit by a cobra.
Well there's a few things that i fear. Hard to say which scares me most. I mean, ever since i was a child, i've been afraid of the dark. In regards to death, it's not the actual experience of dying that frightens me, it's the not knowing what comes after that terrifies me. I also fear that i may not get anywhere in my future, that i may never achieve my highest aspirations or dreams, that i may be consumed by personal problems, that i may fail at important things.
I fear death too. Whether it's experiencing it or the afterlife. I'm also afraid of failing in life too. Also, ever since I was bitten by a dog a few years ago, I'm not too keen on them.

Kinda ironic that you don't like dogs too much eh? Y'know, seen as how your username is 'Akira_Cat'!
I'm afraid of ****roaches (one of the spreads of disease) and I do have a fear of failure. And I can be terrified of pain.
I don't fear death. I think that is the last thing that we should fear because we're all going to die anyway. Now, I'm scared of a painful death.......

Ah yes, i think i may have a low pain threshold. I easily start screaming whenever someone so much as touches a bruise i may have!
Death for me cause no one knows what happens when you die.
also being ALL alone I can be alone for a while but constaly never having any company then I just feel that I'm the only one in the world.I once had a dream that I was walking around my town and no one was around abonded cars...buildings etc.

Yeah, being the only one left in a once populated ghost town would be very scary for most people!

Actually, I'd quite like that XD However, it's big crowds that scare me, not isolation so that's probably why XD
I'm also afraid of flying (and heights. I get vertigo =D) and spiders. Although bigger spiders don't bother me, it's the stealthy ones that try and crawl on me when I'm not looking. Pretty much any bug that scurries out of nowhere will startle me (it'd startle anyone, I imagine). Even ****roaches and I actually like ****roaches.
Edit: Wow. The first part of ****roach is censored.

Though I wouldn't say it's my greatest fear, I do openly fear butterflies and moths. [shudders] Though I think I'm more afraid of losing people I care about and failure.
OT a little, but the fear of long words is Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia (which I find really, really ironic) and, alternately, Sesquipedalophobia, which is still pretty long.

-tries to pronounce hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia- Wow. That really is ironic. xD That word has to be the one that strikes the fear of long words into people's hearts.
Finding myself on some worst dressed list of any sort...
Ha! I kid....
But in all seriousness, I too fear death. =/ I'm taking a psychology course on death, dying and bereavement, and lemme tell you... it's really emotional. I took it 'cause I'm still upset over the death of my grandpa about 3-4 years ago. It was the first death that struck my immediate family, and I didn't handle it really well. Death is a natural part of life and as time has passed on, new medical advances and such have made it possible for people to live longer and with that, death is now being seen as something unnatural...
I still fear it... but I'm now more accepting of it...
Spiders. Or anything with more than 4 legs for that matter.

Terrorists, to be specific. Some idiot hacked the school's tech lab, and all the computer that were logged on displayed 'This computer will self-destruct in 1 minute. Get out.'
I did, fast as I could. I was outside the door in less than ten seconds. Jacovie had to come get me back into the lab.
A second message appeared not long afterwards. Maybe a minute or so passed when another message came.
'Let's hope you said your prayers-'
I didn't read anymore, and bolted for the door again.
Jacovie found me outside, crying. Eventually, he got me back inside. We got our stuff and wandered the halls awhile, 'till he convinced me to get back into the tech lab. We took the Macs for a while, then we went to the library and took Windows computers again.

I've got a headache from that.
Poor you. It seems like you've had a really bad day. I hope the person who did this gets taught a lesson!!

I know, but seriously. I'm not afraid of bunnies, but if one hopped on my lap right now without a warning I'd be screaming like hell.
And I'd be scared like hell in your situation, oddity. Those kinds of things (not phone numbers and weekends) shouldn't be joked about. That person better be punished for scaring people like that.
Speaking of computers, a better example of my fear are those e-mails that you try and find what's wrong with the picture, and a scary face with a scream pops out of nowhere.
I was watching AFV right in front of my t.v. when the host played the trick on us. I felt like an idiot because I was the only one actually looking for what was wrong in the picture, and I was scared like hell. You bet I never got any sleep that night.
My worst fear is spiders. My second is ventriloquist (sp?) dummies and wax figures.
After that is heights, pain, large empty spaces, flying insects, ghosts, and being alone.
Now on death. Death is a very complicated fear for me. Death itself is not what I fear, it's after that.
I belive that we've all had past lives, and that when we die, we go to Heaven or Hell (no offense to any non-religious folk out there), but after that we are all reborn in a new life on Earth.
This is what I'm afraid of.
I'm afraid that, in my new life, I'll experience an immense amount of pain or torture. That I won't be living the type of life I am now and that terrible things will happen to me...It's hard to explain, very hard to explain. I guess it's like I'm fearing for another person's well being, and my own at the same time.
Hmm...my cousin says I think too much...I think she might be right.
My biggest fear would definately be having to get needles. I've always been petrified of it. And the last three I had to get didn't help much, either.
My other fears are tied. Being with people I don't know, large insects, large spiders, and heights.

Flies (one got in my ear and it sucked), being buried ALIVE and... scary logos with scary music (e.g. WGBH, Buena Vista and that's it??). My heart always pound like crap when I see 'em.
Hey, I feel like that I'm in "Total Drama Island"! The 7th episode was when they talked about their BIGGEST FEAR. If you don't believe me, go here.

Got some new ones. DX I'm afraid of my mother when she's scared. I left my (venteloquist) dummy right in front of the steps one night so when my mom came down in the morning, she thought this guy snuck into our house and sat in front of the steps. It scared her so bad and she freaked me out the rest of the day. And I'm afraid of cold. About 1/2 a year ago, my sister said she was cold. Then she began to vomit, and her face turned yellow. A few minutes later, she had a seizure (her second one ever, and she's nine). We had to go to the hospital/emergency room, and she had to stay there for a week. I was so scared she might get worse, and now whenever she gets cold I'm afraid she's going to go into another seizure. Seizures are NOT FUNNY!!!
I got numerous fears. I'm afraid of the regular, cheesy horror flick characters like vampires and zombies (mainly because I was a child with an active imagination and I was very, very skittish and easily scared when I was smaller and the fear stuck on me), I'm afraid every time there's news about a cop getting hurt or killed and that I get a phone call telling me it's my dad who's the victim, I'm afraid my mother's condition worsens so much she can't walk anymore, I'm afraid something might happen to my brother, I'm afraid of the supernatural (a stupid thing to fear, but refer to the previous excuse) and I'm afraid something bad happens and I loose my friends for good. While I'm not afraid of the dark in itself, I'm afraid of the things in the dark, the ones I can't see.
... I like to keep all the possible entrances and exits in my line of view, I always have something to use as a weapon (most of the time it's a heavy Maglight) and I always have back-up plans in case something goes wrong.
... And this makes me seem so much more paranoid than I usually am. -_-;
But my worst-case-scenario is a global zombie-outbreak or some kind of vampire uprising/rebellion. No more ResE for this lil' lady! D:
