Just for Valintine's day, here is Number 15 of my 100 themed challenge. Love.
Chapter 1
Rev and Tech are shopping in the supermarket for the weekly groceries and so far, they're up the bread aisle. While Tech is pushing the trolley, Rev is reading over the shopping list.
Rev: Hmm... we got them, got them, got them, aaaaaand, yes. That's everything! Lets go to the till!
Tech: Thank goodness.
Rev: Oh why don't you like grocery shopping Tech? I love grocery shopping! And you should at least enjoy it too cos at least you're not doing this by yourself.
Tech: It's just so tedious. Having to go around with a trolley just getting stuff and then going to the till, pay for the things and it just feels like your time's being wasted.
Rev: I bet it was because we dragged you away from your invention so you could have some fresh air. It was our turn to do the shopping so we had to drag you away.
As Tech rolled his eyes, they have approached the till.
Rev: Oh no. We've forgotten a few things from the list. I'll be right back.
Tech: You can say and do that.
Check out girl: Next please.
Tech moves up the queue and once he looks at the check out girl, he stops. His eyes were fixed onto her face as he just froze. The song "I should be so lucky" by Kylie Minogue starts. In his mind, he's imagining himself dancing with the check out girl in a white, heavenly background. Tech is wearing a white suit as the girl is wearing a white dress. After a few minutes, he hears an echoing voice.
???: Tech? Tech. You have to pay the lady now.
Tech shakes his head and sees a queue of rather impatient customers as he turned to face the check out girl.
Tech: Heh heh. Sorry about that. How much was it again?
Check out girl: That would be 65 quarsarliums sir.
Tech takes the money out. His hand was shaking as he gave it to the girl.
Check out girl: Are you alright sir?
Tech: Don't worry I'm- FOOOOOOWWWWWWWW!
Tech accidently smacks himself into the doors and falls onto the floor. That draws in a crowd.
Rev: Tech! Tech! Are you alright!? Speak to me! Tech!
Tech's eyes danced as he sees the face of the check out girl he was served by before he closed his eyes into pitch darkness.
Tech opens his eyes to see the check out girl standing over him. She gives him a smile.
Girl: Are you okay?
Tech: Eeeehh... I guess so.
Girl: You know? That was some bump on the head when you walked into the door Tech. You must of hit it hard.
Tech: So you know me then?
Girl: Of course silly! You're our friend.
Tech: Well, can I at least know your name then? I never got to ask.
Girl: What do you mean "know my name"? It's me. Lexi.
Tech: Huh?
Tech's eyes re-adjust themselves until he sees a confused Lexi along with the other loonatics in the living room.
Duck: I think that bonk on the head must have scrambled his brains.
Rev: OH NO! HE HAS AMNESIA! TECH! DO YOU REMEMBER WHO I AM!?
Tech: It's... it's coming back to me. Me and Rev were shopping, and that girl at the check-out...
Rev: Phew! False alarm.
Ace: Eerr... what about the girl at the check-out?
Tech: Ah! Girl? What girl? I didn't mention anything about a check-out girl!
Duck: Er, yeah you did. You said that.
Tech: No I didn't! I didn't mention anything about a check-out girl! Nope! Don't remember saying anything about that!
Rev: HE HAS AMNESIA!
Tech: I don't have amnesia Rev! And speaking of remembering things, I need to finish that invention off that I was inventing.
Tech gets up from the sofa only to be pulled back down by Slam.
Ace: No way Tech! You just got a bit of a concusion. Rest is the thing you need just to clear your head.
Tech: But-
Ace: No buts Tech! You have to get some rest. Stay on the sofa.
Tech: Okay.
Ace: Okay. You stay here while we sort out something about a helpless builder on a building site. Lets jet!
The others leave Tech lying on the sofa. Once the door is shut, Tech gets up and looks in the shopping bag.
Tech: Come on. It has to be in here somewhere. They always say the name of the person who served you. The bin! Rev always puts the reciepts in the bin!
Tech rushes to the dustbin and tries to empty the contents of the bin with his bare hands.
Tech: Ugh! I wish Rev wouldn't throw away the reciepts in the bin! Aha!
Tech finds the reciept and unscrews it and reads it.
He then hears the other loonatics enter the building. He quickly stuffs the receipt in his pocket and jumps on the sofa and tries to pretend to be "ill". The other Loonatics enter.
Ace: Another job well done is all that I have to say.
Duck: But what are we gonna do with a whole load of bricks?
Rev: Sell them on Kebay. I do.
Lexi: Hey Tech. Are you okay?
Tech: Yeah. Just a mild headache. In fact, I think I might go to bed early tonight. I'll see you guys tomorrow.
Ace: Oh. See ya.
Tech goes into his lab and once he shuts the door, he flops onto his bed and takes out the receipt. He hugs it to his chest and gives a deep sigh. ______________________________________________________________
A week later, the rest of the loonatics are in the dining room, discussing about Tech.
Slam: Has anyone noticed that Tech has been acting weird lately?
Ace: Yeah. You know he usually whistles in the shower? Well this morning I went past the bathroom and I could have swore I heard Tech singing.
Duck: But he never sings.
Rev: But not as weird as what he said to me when I asked him to go down to the park with me.
Duck: What? Did he say "Go away! You're really starting to annoy me now"?
Rev: No. He said he'd come. He just stopped what he was inventing and went with me.
Ace: No way!
Lexi: Quick! Tech's coming!
They all try to act normal when Tech enters the room. He starts singing a song.
Tech: Can't think I had but things to say to you. If I had that chance, I would lay it down for you. You make feel a loft. You just make my head go soft. And God knows, God only knows.
Na na, na na na na na. Na na, na na na na na. Na na, na na na na na. Na na, na na na na.
Johnny boy, Don't be afraid, to shake that ass and everything else Danny boy, Looking at me, you always make it look easy.
I can't do the walk I can't do the talk I can't say the words I can't speak my mind
La la la la...
Tech's voice trails off as he exits the HQ. The others exchange glances at what they have witnessed.
Lexi: I think I know what's up with Tech. Tech... is in love.
Rev: What!?
Duck: He's in love!?
Ace: With who? _____________________________________________________________________
Tech is walking down the street humming the song he just sung. He then bumps into someone as they both land on the floor. The person's groceries have spilt all over the floor.
Tech: Oh! I'm so sorry!
???: No. It's okay.
Tech: At least let me help you pick up your things.
???: No. It's alright.
They both touch hands as they try to pick up an apple from the floor. They both stare at each other in shock. Tech stares at a young girl with two, blonde plats in her hair, with a pair of sapphire eyes staring back at him.
Tech meets his crush! Awww! He's probably gonna have another accident now tho'. Poor Tech. But somehow, i don't think things are gonna work out between him and Suzanne in the end.
*Tech wakes up at the HQ on the sofa. Rev turns around and sees him wake up.*
Rev: Look you guys! Tech's awake! Man that was the second time you fainted this week. I think you may have a bit of a bad luck spell or something.
Tech: Eh... what happened?
Ace: Well aparently you bumped into a lamp post and then you just fainted.
Tech: But how did you know that? You guys weren't even there.
Lexi: Well she told us.
*The girl steps forward. Tech gasps in suprise.*
Girl: Oh. You're awake. I decided to stay here until I felt you'd be alright. I couldn't just leave after I got you here.
Tech: Eerr... th- th- th- thank y- you S- Suzanne.
*Tech suddenly clamps his mouth shut with his hands.*
Suzanne: Well, I'm glad you're okay. I better go now.
Lexi: Well don't you want to stay for dinner?
Suzanne: I really should leave. But thank you for the offer. I'll see you later. Bye.
Loonatics apart from Tech: Bye.
Tech: Bu- bye.
*Suzanne exits the HQ.*
Duck: So it's Suzanne now? Ho ho! Who knew it? The day that Tech has a crush. And it isn't a villainess.
Tech: Shut up Duck! I don't see you having an admirer!
Ace: Tech. Calm down. It's okay if you have a crush on someone. We totally understand.
Tech: But these feelings... I can't seem to control them. It's like... I'm not myself.
Lexi: Everyone goes through that stage Tech. You're not the only one.
Rev: Yeah. You should just confess your love to her in person. She'll totally understand.
Tech: But I don't have the guts to. I'm just a hopeless guy who can only figure equations out and make gadgets! Would you just excuse me for a moment?
*Tech runs into his lab with his palms over his face and shuts the door. The others settle in an uneasy atmosphere.*
Rev: Poor Tech. It's like she was the first girl he fell in love with.
Duck: Who could blame him? He always fell for the screwed up ones.
Lexi: Duck!
*Lexi hits Duck on his arm.*
Duck: Ow!
Rev: We should find a way to help him get his feelings across!
Ace: Hmm... I'm not sure Rev. We did tell him and if he wants to say his feeling to her, than it's fine by everyone. It just has to take some time for him to settle down.
*The others give a worried expression.* ___________________________________________________________________
*Meanwhile, Tech is sitting against the door as hot tears rolled down his face. The song "Sewn" by The Feeling starts playing.*
Oh Techie! My dear poor tormented Techie! I just want to hug and comfort him all better now! I'm really feeling his confusion and bewilderment at his crush feelings here! It must be more difficult for him to handle than for most guys since he's always such an unsocial and isolated person. Oh Techie! I hope you feel better and gain a valuable experience by the end of this story!
DEATH TO SUZANNE!!! *picks up torches and pitchforks* j/k

Anway, I love how this story is going! it's making me melt! keep going! Death to Suzanne? Why? She's a nice girl. She was based on the character in a school play that I took part in called the "Suzanne Diaries", and she was just loved for a minute and then dumped the next scene by a sex driven *******. But she got her own back in the end when she got married to a poet and the ******* didn't have a girlfriend by the end of the play because he had sex with almost every female character in the play (except my character and a few others). But still, don't be too hard on her. She doesn't really know Tech's feelings for her (yet). So you're just gonna have to wait until the next few chapters to find out what happens.
Sorry Akira, I didn't mean Death to Suzanne because she's a horrible person... she's really sweet and I like her character...!
But as a Techie, I feel that I must make sure that Tech is kept free purely so I can have him all to myself. lol, I was just messin' around. ^__^ No offence or anything!
On a side note - What play was that?

Oh no. I never meant to be angry with you. I was just joking around playfully. We're all like that.
And the play was a school production written by our drama teacher. It was based on his memories in the 1960's and I wouldn't call him the sex driven ******* because he's cool, funny and a legend but the main male character John was based on him. He had some love but then he lost it and I quote from his leaflet he made, he said:
"I would like to thank the cast for taking part in this production, for making this possible to recall the times that stir my own memories".
I just wanted to cry and go up to him and give him a hug! But I couldn't because I was playing my character in the play in 10 minutes and getting in and out the dressing room in 10 minutes seemed like an impossible task to do.
My character was a loopy hippy called Poppy. I loved playing her. It was her childish, optimistic, happy go lucky and scatter-brained attitude that I love. And I so loved the parts in the play when I, 1) Had to pretend that I was smoking poppies and eating some "Dream Cakes" (cocaine mixed with contents of normal cakes or something I don't know), and 2) The parts where I just went over the top (Epsecially doing my "rubbish yet good" Elvis Presley impression. I did him proud let me tell you).
Overall, I just burst into tears after I performed at the last night of our play. I really felt I had made friends with someone like me that I had to say goodbye to. But I always know that she's still there, by my side, saying this to me:
"Well, even though I'll be performing in the circus somewhere far away, those poppies made you and me feel good. Aaaaaaaaahhhh... I can smell them right now. Eeeeehhh..."
And at that point, she'd faint on floor from all dizziness she had from smoking too many poppy cigarettes and eating too much "Dream Cake". But I'd smile to myself and say:
"Yeah. You get your rest on the floor before you go to the circus."
That sounds like an interesting play Akira! I bet you performed splendidly! It's good to hear how much involved and motivated you were in that play, and it sounds like it's given you some good memories to take away as well.
And Xtream, don't hog Tech all to yourself! Leave some of him for me too! LOL!

Aww. Poor Tech. D= He's not even my all-time favorite but I feel for the guy... And now I'm trying to imagine what Tech would look like if he cried. -ponders-

Dear me, what could the evil genius roadrunner have up his sleeve? xD Probably not something Tech is going to be happy about, I'd assume.
Rev: Of course not. Why would a sweet, innocent, naive, cute, childish roadrunner like me be an evil genius?
Me: Exactly! Conclusion: Rev is not evil. Now I'm going to innocently skip of into the other room. La la la la la!
I exit out of the room. By the time the door closes, Rev presses a red button and all his blueprints for his evil plans are revealed.
Rev: Poor deluded cat. She doesn't know what lies in store for everyone. MWA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! _____________________________________________________________________ "That sounds like an interesting play Akira! I bet you performed splendidly! Well, I am a good Stanislavski actress and all. And I'm sure Poppy is enjoying her life at the circus right now.

Poppy: Eeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhh...
She faints on the floor.
END THOUGHT BUBBLE!
Me: Yep. She's enjoying herself. I wonder what those Dream Cakes actually taste like. I've got French first so I don't care if I'm not there.
I eat a Dream Cake.
Me: Woah. This is so psycadelic man. Wow, pretty stars... and pink elephants. Eeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhh...
Everyone else is sitting around the breakfast table eating. But Tech isn't there.
Ace: Hey. Has anyone seen Tech this morning? He hasn't even come out for his breakfast.
Duck: How am I supposed to know where he is in the morning? Not all of us are psychic.
Rev: Tech? He went out.
Lexi: Out where?
Rev: I don't know. All I know is that when I saw him this morning, he said he was going to try and figure out his situation. ________________________________________________________________
As Rev is saying this, Tech is standing on a beach, looking out towards the horizon of the ocean. He gazes at the sunrise until he hears a familiar voice.
???: Tech?
Tech turns around to find Suzanne walking up to him.
Tech: Suzanne? What are you doing here?
Suzanne: I just wanted to watch the sun-rise. I don't know why. I just felt drawn to this feeling I had in my sleep.
Tech: You know? I had that same feeling too this morning.
Suzanne: Well I think the sun rise is beautiful.
Tech: I think so too.
Pause.
Tech: Suzanne?
Suzanne: Yes?
Tech: There's something... I have to tell you.
Suzanne: Yes?
Tech: I... The thing is, you... um... I...
Suzanne: What is it Tech?
Tech: I... I love you! You're the most beautiful and kind person I have ever met and whenever I see you my heart stops and I envision you as an angel in heaven and I just want you to know that cause I just kept those feelings bottled up until I couldn't take it anymore! I'm sorry for embarrassing myself in front of you. I gotta go!
Tech is about to runaway when Suzanne grabs his arm.
Suzanne: Tech. I think... that was the most nicest thing anyone could have said to me.
Tech: Really?
Suzanne: Yes. But...
Tech: But what? I don't mind if you don't love me. As long as you heard what I had to say-
Suzanne: It's not that Tech. It's just... I don't think I can be with another man.
Tech: Why not? Not that I want to pressure you into anything.
Suzanne: It's just, my first boyfriend I had, he only used me for a sex toy and then he went off with another girl. And my second boyfriend died in a motorbike crash and... I feel like this relationship would be like the last ones I had, and I don't want you to get hurt. Even if it's not physical, I feel like you're too special to get hurt by anything. I'm sorry if I upset you-
Tech: No no. You listened to me when I said I loved you and it would only be fair if I listened to you.
Suzanne: Thanks Tech. I just don't think I'm ready for any relationship yet.
Tech: Well, I guess I'm not either.
Suzanne: We could still watch the sun rise if you want to.
Tech: Yeah. Lets make the most of this before we depart.
The both watch the sun rise as the song "The sun is setting" by Seth Lakeman starts playing.
*Wipes a tear from eye.* Oh Tech, i'm proud of you! You confessed your true feelings to Suzanne on your own! You have now matured just that little bit more emotionally! *Hugs Tech.* And on a side note, sunrises are beautiful things to watch. Awww...
RevRunner - I haffta ask... it's been annoying me for some time now... what is Rev doing in your avatar??? *stares at avatar for ages pondering* :D
Akira - AAAAAAAAAAAAAAWE!!! so cute!!! XD I prefer sunsets to sunrises... because when i get up (at 05:30, no less DX), I'm too tired to watch the sunrise... but in the arvo, I like to just sit back and relax and watch the sun set... and then watch Venus disappear over the horizon... ^_^
anyway - beautiful story! I like it... it's so sweet... and simple. Nothing major happens; no super villains, no deceitful plot line (although Tech still manages to come a cropper on the floor XD ). And I love the way you write Akira! *hearts*

The next day, Suzanne is getting ready for work. She looks at the photo of her previous boyfriend with his arm around her shoulders. She gives a sigh as she puts her coat on when suddenly, the door bell rings. She opens the door to find a delivery man with a bouquet of lillies in his arms.
Man: Excuse me. Are you Miss Suzanne Welled?
Suzanne: I am.
Man: These are for you. Just sign here.
The man gives the paper for Suzanne to sign. She signs it as she is given the flowers and the man leaves. Suzanne closes the door as she looks at an envelope atached to the tag.She opens the envelope and unfolds the letter. It reads: ____________________________________________________________________
"Dear Suzanne. I'm sorry that the love we shared was unrequainted. But, at least we were honest with each other. I guess I would be too busy for a relationship at the moment, saving the world and all. I hope you're still alright by this. But, we still have to go on. Otherwise, we'd probably be trapped with the emotions of sadness and loss forever. I'm sure we'll meet again in places we don't expect. Like that sunrise on the beach. I guess we were drawn to something that bought us together. I guess there was a purpose for us being drawn into whatever we were drawn into. We just don't know what. We all live under the same sky but there's one destiny that everyone could fill together. Until we meet again, let the future be kind to you.
Suzanne gives a smile as a tear rolled down her face. Later, she goes to visit her previous boyfriend's grave. She removes the dead flowers from the grave and replaces them with the lillies on top of it. She give another smile as another tear rolled down her face.
Suzanne: Matt. If you're listening to me right now, I just got this to say. I met a man a while ago. Well, more like a coyote anthro. I know you sometimes tell me that anthros are not to be trusted with, but he... he was kind and sensitive. He even knew that my name meant the flowers that is placed on your resting place right now. He was just as special as you were. But we decided not to go out with each other for a while. I just didn't want him to suffer the emotions of sadness and loss. I didn't want him to be upset until he dies. And I guess his reasons were similar to mine.
Pause.
We saw the sunrise a while back. It was just as beautiful as it was before you left. I don't know what it was, but we were somehow drawn to it, as though there was some purpose for us to be here. We all live under the same sky. One sky, one destiny. ____________________________________________________________________
At the HQ, all the others are sitting around the breakfast table. Tech and Rev isn't there yet.
Ace: Did anyone know what Tech was doing that day back when he didn't appear for a whole morning?
Duck: Well when I asked him, he said he was out for a walk.
Lexi: I still hope he's feeeling okay.
Slam: Hope so.
Rev then suddenly come speeding in.
Rev: Hey guys! I think Tech has cheered up!
Lexi: How do you know?
Rev: Well, I was walking past the bathroom and I could hear his whistle in the shower again! And don't say it might not be cos I can recognise Tech's whistle from anywhere!
Duck: And it's significant, because?
Rev: Also, when he was in his lab, I asked him if he wanted to go down to the park and he said-
Duck: Stop bothering me, I'm too busy to deal with you so let me get on with my invention in peace?
Rev: How did you know Duck!? You are such a mind reader! Are you planning to become a fortune teller?
Suddenly, the post comes in.
Duck & Rev: I'll get it!
Duck and Rev try fighting over to the post but Lexi slowly walks past them and picks up the post and takes it into the dining room.
Lexi: Okay. Bill, bill, bill, bill and Duck?
Duck: Yeah?
Lexi: You got hate mail from Mysty Breeze.
Duck: Ah. She's just playing hard to get.
Lexi: And there's a package for Tech.
Rev snatches the package from Lexi.
Rev: Oooh! What is it? He won't mind if we open the package will he?
Duck: Give it here! You'll break it!
Rev: No I won't!
Their hands fumble over the package until it is thrown in the air. Tech then enters.
Tech: Hey. How's things going this morning?
The package lands in Tech's hands.
Tech: A package for me?
Lexi: It came through the post this morning.
Rev: Come on! Lets see what you got!
Tech opens the package. It reveals a picture of a sunrise in a picture frame.
Rev: What is it?
Duck: A picture frame? Who would sent Tech a picture frame? I thought it would be something technilogical.
Tech: If you guys don't mind, I'm going to my lab.
Ace: Oh. Okay.
The song "I love it when you call" by The Feeling starts as Tech enters his lab and shuts the door. He then finds a letter atached to the back of the picture frame addressed to him. It reads: _______________________________________________________________________
"Tech. I hope you're doing okay. I was just visiting my boyfriend's grave and I was telling him about you. I told him how special you were and I think he was alright about us. I took the picture of the sunrise since you gave me something to remember you by and I felt it would only be fair if I gave something to you. You're right about things having a purpose. We all do. We just have to find it. You're lucky that you have friends to help find your purpose. You seemed to be happy when you're around them. I suppose I just have to find my purpose bymyself. I know there are people who can help me find it like you. I just know that when I am with people, I believe that I can do anything. I believed I could when I was with you. Until we meet again, I hope you find what you're looking for.

Tech gave a smile as he put the picture frame next to his bedside. He sits on the bed and gives a sigh of relief.

Lovely story Akira! Even tho' Tech and Suzanne didn't get together, it was a happy ending for both of them. And in fact, not getting together gave the ending more impact in my opinion. I love how you explored another dimension of the emotion of love in this fic. Love is about caring for others, even at times when one's love is not consumated or returned.
