I don't know if there exist costumes from the other Loonatics or if this Tech costume is an official costume or just a costume made by a fan.

Well, that's right that Americans often get everything good first, but I'm not from America I'm from Austria.

Well we got a sheep for a prime minister. He just follows Bush around like a little lamb.

At the risk of starting a political debate here, Blair and Bush certainly haven't been too popular generally, but i do kinda sympathise with them a bit. They carry alot of pressure on their shoulders y'know.

Maybe Bush will pull out of Iraq instead of sending even more troops there.

Did anyone hear about the draft that may or may not be reinstated?

Oh gawd, I hope that's not an official suit, though I'm sure it is if he was at the WB booth at Comic-Con. -_-;  I'm not particularly impressed with it, m'self.  It doesn't look like they used fur on the headpiece at all, and they didn't use the right stuff for the tail.  There are some other little nit-picky things wrong with the headpiece as well.  WB certainly has the funds - why not make the costume look as great as possible for a major public event?

Gripe #1, though, is the guy in the suit.  They needed a slim person with reasonably broad shoulders.  Would it have been that hard to find someone with that build?  This person is the same size all the way down, not to mention a bit tubby for a superhero, in spandex of all things!

Sorry, didn't mean to sound so negative.  This Tech is certainly better than no Tech.  It's just that I've seen some really amazing fursuits that were not professionally made, and feel like this was a squandered opportunity.  I know a guy who usually goes to Comic-Con - maybe he can aquire an autograph for me this year.  ^^

It scared me for life. Seriously. And the way he's moving..I just want to get on stage and kick him off it. When Zadavia's voice says 'Loonatics' and he strikes that pose...ugh x_x

Although, I giggled when he rubbed his stomach at the mention of Rev ;3

Yeesh.  Any fursuiter worth his salt could have given a better performance than that.  WB should have found themselves a furry to play Tech.  That would have been a show-stopper! biggrin

'As far as his collegue, Rev Runner, their relationship is strictly professional' [rubs belly]

That was horrifically funny to watch. Tech looks chubby, and the way he pronounced 'Tech E.' sounds a little gay.

Ski: I don't think the audience was 100% furry and if he rubbed lower, many heads would have exploded. He just protected the furry fandom's reputation, but the hint is still there for us! ;3

I think he was rubbing his belly more as an emphasis of the sarcasm of the narrator's claim that his relationship with Rev Runner is strictly professional! In that he still can eat road runners or something.

But i actually thought it was kinda cute to see someone dressed up as Tech! Now will someone dress up as the other Loonatics later? He! He!

Heh, meant as two TOTALLY separate thoughts, that furries seem to have an inherent flair for performance (rather than just pacing back and forth on stage), and me being a silly shipper. =D

And I suppose we shouldn't forget - coyotes loooove eating roadrunners. devilish.gif

Kaejae:  An Ace suit would probably work out better.  The level of quality needed to make it look like the real thing would be much lower. XP

Hmmm... I don't think Tech would do poses in any extravagence. It's just not Tech. But I suppose it was to show off to the audience I suppose.

At the start, when Zadavia says 'the loonatics' Tech says it too.And when that guy says that thing about Rev, a guy in a Rev costume should appear and Tech should hold up a sign that says 'dinner!' and point it at Rev. Then Rev says 'meep, meep!' and Tech chases him off the stage.

I'm sorry, I think it would be funny!

The performance was okay though the announcer, I think, some how made it seem far more cheesy then it actually was. It's true that the suit could've used some work but it was pretty good for a fan made one. I'm actually suprised that it was so well recieved considering the heckling that LU has been getting the last couple years. I wonder if Chen actually won anything in the contest? On another note, exactly what convention (that's where I'm guessing this occured) was this taken from?

He did, at that.  I'm not so sure it's fan-made.  WB had an official presence at Comic-Con Int'l '06, and suiting a commercial character at a major event can be rather sticky copyright territory if it's not authorized by the owner of the property.

I'd been wondering why my fuzzy ears have been burning! I see my escapades last July at Comic Con International made it to YouTube, and that led me here.

I built the Tech E. Coyote costume over a couple months of nights and weekends, shooting for a July 2006 debut in San Diego. The head is sheet foam covered in black fur and green velvet. I couldn't find a good quality lime fur in time, and the short pile velvet seemed to work. The tail is a foam core covered in green shag, attached to a belt and a flat piece of plastic to give it the right angle. There's a longstanding tradition of fan re-creation at Comic Con, hence you'll see all sorts of fan-built costumes there.

I'm a long-time fur, SkiFox, with years of fursuit performing experience, both at a fan and mascot level. However, that all went out the window. Most of my convention was spent in the hotel room finishing the suit for Saturday night. The masquerade skit was improvised -- Pose dramatically during MC banter. Hindsight is 20-20, yeah. A shame since I can do a pretty good Tech vocal impression but didn't have time to record something.

Although I could have just strutted the stage and got the crowd clapping like a typical sports mascot, I felt, as Akira Cat said, it didn't suit Tech's character. Neither would rubbing, ahem, lower. You're right Ski, that WOULD have been a show-stopper -- stop and eject one green coyote! But yes, Ayelet, at least there's a nod to the shippers and furries out there.

I know I'm not the thinnest guy out there, kaejae. It takes guts to take the stage at Comic Con in a spandex unitard, unfortunately mine were kinda spilling out over my belt!

Although I earned no prizes or ribbons, Silver Wolf, I had fun bringing this character to life in front of 4200+ in the main Masquerade hall plus the overflow video projection room, and Sunday making my way from the small press area (Yay Sofawolf!) to the WB booth and snap a couple pics before some Black-T-Shirt WB Temps pulled me out from behind the autograph table.

Along the way I did get occasional remarks like:

 "OMG furry"

"You some kinda coyote Green Lantern?"

and...

 "Thanks for killing cartoons!"

It's all in fun, though. Life's too short to be taken seriously. And ShagsterP, it's spelled C-H-I-N. I'll be watching out for you at the next FurCon. :)

Yea, I think the comments and criticism mostly come from everybody assuming it was an official costume, so they figured bigger bucks would get shelled out for something like this. But since it is completely fan-made, that changes the perspective.
