Hmm, Ace would never hand over leadership of the team to Duck, Duck will never become a truly selfless person, Lexi will never fall in love with anyone other than Ace, Tech would never say something pointless and dumb, Rev will never talk at snail's pace, Slam will never talk properly full stop!

All funny choices, but I don't understand what Crossfire meant when he said that Rev would never eat peanut butter again. Was there ever a scene of Rev eating peanut butter? Refresh my memory.

Well i didn't interpret Lexi's reaction to the mountain climber as a crush necessarily, it could have been her gushing in the presence of a famous person imo. I know some of us talk of Duxi possibilities too, but i myself find that unlikely. Given her obviously close relationship to Ace, i think he's the most likely candidate for her to experience true love for. She may have some other little crushes on guys outside of the team, but i don't think any of those would be substantial relationships.

Agree with Black Oracle. 'Sides, you have to admit the guy's hotter than the sun, from a cartoon character's perspective. It would be totally psychologically realistic for her to gush just a bit. But that doesn't really compare to Lexi's close and mutually protective relationship with Ace.

Lol I should`ve clarified. I`m saying that Rev will never eat peanut butter (again) because could you imagine him trying to talk at high speed with his mouth gummed up by PB? I`m assuming he tried it once, and then it was decided he never should again.

But no, Rev`s never actually eaten peanut butter in the show. Next time, I`d better make sure people don`t think I`m referring to a past event. Sorry `bout any confusion, folks.

None of the other Loonatics would take up science, study, and become inventors like Tech...Although...I believe that Rev is pretty close.

Slam would never go on a diet.

Tech would never research magic instead of technology.

If I generate more ideas, I will post them. But for now, this is the best that I could come up with. The "Tech sticking his head out of a vehicle window" images are pretty good.

Oh, and could you put spaces between sentences instead of hyphens, like I did in the quote block above? You get the same Rev-speak effect, but without stretching the page. smile

Am I the only one who thinks that hyphens actually slow down Rev's speech? o_O
I think that his speech would get the fast effect just without the commas and pauses, like Kyell did in his fanfiction. That was..the perfect written Rev speech.

I mean hyphens are good but you have a lot of issues with it what with them always stretching the page and you have to start new lines without hypehns the board will start a new line automatically now wouldn't that be much easier and require a lot less attention?

Sorta like that. You'd STILL have to read the phrase more than once, but I find it a lot less annoying.
Or why not just write it normally? I mean, we know Rev, we can quicken up his talking mentally as we read.

I never thought of it that way. It is quite a bother to put hyphens in a stroy. On the other hand, I still feel that it differs Rev's speech from the other characters'.

The punctuationless version does read more like Rev's usual babble, doesn't it? It's certainly helluva lot easier to type. I have to type at about half speed to use hyphens.

Normal could certainly work, too, perhaps without commas. Like you said, Ayelet, the rate at which we read and process the dialog is more important than how it looks on screen. The visual element would be more important for someone unfamiliar with the characters, but how many people are going to be reading fanfiction without at least some knowledge of the 'tics?
