Yesterday (Friday) my school went to our annual track and field meet. Every year since preschool, I have managed to get absolutely no ribbons. But it's not my fault. I have very weak ankles and mild oscoliosis (I think that's how it's spelled), so running is hard for me, especially over uneven ground. But I have had a sudden spark in talent for shot put. This year was almost a tie for third place between me and another girl in my grade. So that made me happy. I felt like I was going to throw up after the cross country, but I survived, barely. My friend, Cayla, won 3 first places, 2 thirds, and 1 second, and a trophy for being the student in our school with the most points. You should have heard me and the school gym teacher, Becky, cheering for her when she went to get her ribbons and trophy. People were staring at us like we were aliens. We didn't care. It was awesome! Does your school do T+F? How good are you? Any major awards? Tiny awards?

Ya we have T&F but there are teams for each event. The other people who tried out for the teams but didnt get in get to go to the Track meet while the other students stay in school. I didnt really try out for anything since I dont like PE and its one of my worst classes. Oh well, I'm not bummed about it though.
I was about to ask why your whole school was involved, then I remembered that it's itty bitty. =D
I was on the varsity track team in high school, running the 200m and 400m dashes and the 4x400m relay. I did high jump my first year, too, but failed miserably at it. I never actually won any races at any point in my five years on the team, but I did usually place by junior year. I have some medals from the district level ( 5 schools) and two from the regional level (≈15 schools), though I don't remember which events or what places. I would kick sooooo much @$$ now, since I'm about 25 lbs. lighter than I was in high school and in much better shape overall.

Actually, all the private schools around our area have all their students participate. And one of the schools has almost 40 kids. (that's a lot when compared to my school of 13)
That's what alot of the graduates from my school say, too. LOL!

13 kids in the entire school!?! Wow, mine has at least 800 (not including teachers)!!!
Cassidy: We had about 35 people on the track team, so as small as your area's private schools are, that makes sense.
I'm serious! I was carrying around 25 extra pounds of flab back then! My times for just about any distance you choose are significantly faster now than they were in high school, and that's after two years without any real sprint training.
D.G.: The school where my dad teaches has well over 1000, and there are four other high schools of equal size all within ten minutes of it.

Holy cow!!! Thats ALOT of people!!!! I recently went to my elementry school for a fun fair and the place was so small and cramped that it reminded me of a juvie hall (though i've never been to one, it still reminded me of one)!!!!
I used to participate in track and field... Oh the memories...
I was always in either long jump or the high jump... I loved high jump, falling on that huge cushion was always fun :D I made the relay team each year too... ^^
I used to be such an active kid... I'm too lazy now XD
I did sports day in the summer. I was extremely good at long jump. Maybe because I've got such long legs. I'm also good at mid-distance races. Like the 400m race or something. 1500m... a big no no! I came 3rd in it, but just by a few seconds.
I don't TECHNICALLY participate in track and field or cross country, but I'm actually pretty good at long distance running. I usually run 3-4.5 miles a day, occasionally mixing in a long run (6-10 miles). Actually I have to get up in 5 hours for a 5 kilometer race! Whoo! Gonna make it under 20 minutes this time.
