btw, seems most of my text dissapeared after I wrote the youtube.com's link

since I had explained I was seeking for Jodi-seer, sadly she-he hasnt been online for a month now in FA, so cant comission her-he (I dont know if its female or male.. ) so... ;_;

and honestly, this is my 3rd time I've been to furrycoons, as long you keep space from the freaks ( wich you will see the extremes from time to time, and will obviusly make you go WTF!!?... everything will be fine.. )

It's not so bad as long as you stick with people you know. Even the screwballs are usually pretty harmless, the ones that actually come out to cons, anyway.

The SuperSponsor luncheon should be intelligent, at least. I doubt the weirdos are gonna be dishin' out the kind of money needed to reach that membership level.

Yes, but I tend to get, er, violent with people that annoy the crap out of me, and those events have them by the dozen. Me going to one of those cons is like dropping Samuel L. Jackson in a room full of snakes; the ensuing torrent of cursing and death would be remembered for years.

hmm? never had a problems? most people will mind their own business.

at least thats in my experience.. I just ignore them, keep my speed and thats all!.

and also just keep going polite, like if they annoy you, you can always ask anyway, most will of course stop what they were doing.

if not, theres always the security guys :P

Cesarin: Yow! That'll make your bank account cry, alright! I have the advantage of living in Virginia. I'm only going to need a tank and a half of gas to get there and back. I'm not looking forward to a five-hour drive alone, though.

I'm also splitting the hotel with three friends, so I'm effectively only paying for one night.

Maybe we'll run across each other at one of R.P.'s panels. ^^

Trust me, I know. In my 7-8 years or so of shadowed involvement in the fandom, there's little I don't. I'm just not one to put myself in a situation focused on specific niches and groups. I do what I do, like what I like, and can't stand to shackle myself to any one thing so heartily. Seeing the "OMG fuRRy iz LIFE!!!11" crowd at cons makes me sad at life, so I avoid it like the plague for everybody's sake. That's the introverted aspect in me, but I just prefer spending time with quality people rather than having to dig them out of a crowd. I suppose I'd force myself to attend something like this on a more normal basis if I had any good friends along with me, but all of my real-life encounters with fans of the same thing have been bad; they turn out to be nothing but immature teenagers in a complete fantasy world.

I don't mean to rant and I'm certainly not pointing fingers at anybody here (if you all annoyed me, I'd be gone by now =P, and I honestly wouldn't mind meeting some of you); just stating an opinion that tends to get translated incorrectly by others. Having a significant other (and future roommate) who's an artist that contributes on and off to the fandom sort of puts me in the midst of things, after all. That's part of how I know you, Cesarin *leaves hovering suspicion* ⌐_⌐

well most trips are well balanced by other stuff, apart from the fun, I buy computer hardware that its way overpriced in my country.
funnily, its cheaper to fly from Europe to the USA than to this town in Mexico to the USA :/
so I always save way in advance to fly there.
and.. I might be in the Artist Alley one day, so poke me if you go around the main convention space :>

honestly, IRL I no way look like your "classic" American Brand Furry.
Id say the world furries are way more calm and less vocal or exagerated than the USA ones XD

Shagster: I can understand where you're coming from. I have some fairly close friends that I really only get to see at cons and we tend to attach ourselves to each other, so maybe that's why the more fringe/OMG FURRY!/rabid fanboy elements don't bother me so much.

Cesarin: I'll PM you when the con is a little closer and we have a better idea of how our schedules are gonna be.

Akira: Don't worry, I'll make a full account of all R.P.-related happenings. It's no substitute for being there, but it should still be exciting to read about. ^^

Anthrocon = furry convention in pittsburgh
so anthrocon is THE NAME of the convention, not exactly "anthro" convention ;)

Like Cesarin said, Anthrocon is a specific convention, but yes, there are many conventions around the world dedicated to anthropomorphic animals. AC is the largest, with at about 2500 attendees last year.

[Good question. But I think that when you voice act a character, the character's personality that you're giving life to starts to rub off on you.]

[To me, when you voice act a character, you have to be that character. You share the same emotion, and sometimes (or most of the time) you gesticulate while recording.]

Gesticulating almost the same way as the character you're dubbing does, is actually a must. The acting comes out that much better and more naturally. You cannot possibly stand motionless if you're dubbing a character that's running or doing other active things, otherwise the voice will not 'attach' to the character.

You also have to get inside the character's head, inside their phsycology to be able to play them and make them believable to the public. A good voice actor (AND actor, obviously) is able to temporarily 'erase', so to say, his own personality while they're playing a character, and become THE character. So technically Rob IS Rev, or at least has really been him while he dubbed. :)

actually, if you search around youtube.com

you will find rob paulsen videos in other conventions imitating his characters, most specifically Yakko Warner (singing ) and Pinky, I wouldnt be surprised if he has no problem doing Rev for a few seconds. :>

[And I only say that voice actors sometimes don't gesticulate; I think singing is a good example. And by singing, I mean singing as the character that they are. For example, if they had the Loonatics singing, the voice actors might not be gesticulating.]

[Anyway, yeah, I understand your love and passion of voice acting. I used to be able to voice act a few cartoon characters (and a few video game characters as well) until my voice changed. Now my voice cracks most of the time, and I can hardly keep a good conversation going without my voice cracking here and there.]

Oh I know what you mean. Ever since I grew up, my voice changed into one I truly don't like, but as a kid I adored it. The worst were my pre-teen early teen years, my voice was downright weird. But that's normal.

But then, contrary to popular belief, the beauty of a voice is the least important factor. What matters is how much heart you put into acting.

I guess he and I have the same thing in common. I can speak really fast and high pitched and then my voice can be low and serious too! But sometimes I do vary in voices when I do performance studies when we're performing.

since Im partially deaf, I could only get the voice similar to Dijon ( spanish version) in Ducktale's movie ( the quest of the golden lamp)

[Did you know that Rob Paulson also did the voice of Silas Wonder (a one-time character) on Tiny Toons? It's true. I was looking through Tiny Toon Adventures episodes and discovered this. It's episode 31: Sawdust and Toonsil, an episode that stars Gogo Dodo. How cool is that?]
