Question about swearing.

Ummm, my question is, how much swearing is tolerated on this site? For fanfictions I mean. I normally don't swear at all, but when I write stories, I tend to add a few swear words here and there in the characters' dialogue. I plan on posting some fanfiction up on this site, but I'm not sure on wether or not it would be allowed due to foul language.

So, could someone help me with this? I'm terribly sorry if my question is confusing.

[Nice question.]

[As for swearing, I think I've seen a few people swear in their stories.  I'm not sure.  But I can search the fanfiction here for swear words if you want.]

[If I don't find any swearing in the fanfiction here, I'd assume that no swearing is allowed.]

[BUT, it depends on the word.]

[Which words are you thinking of?]

Ummm, let's see, a**, d**n, b*tch, f***, sh*t. Not so much the F word but the others I was wondering about.

[I think the D-word might be okay, and the A-word on the borderline, but the other words...I don't think those are allowed.]

As I`m using these words as example cases and not as actual swearing, I hope Miss Cali will forgive me, but I`d say these are acceptable:

"Ass", "Damn", "Hell", "Bloody" (used in Britain as an alternative for "Damn"), "Bastard", basically anything you`d see in a Final Fantasy game or other T-rated game. "Bitch", I`m not so sure about. Just to be safe, you might want to censor that one, if not all of them.

Not acceptable:

Anything else unless it is censored (like F-four and S-four)

It also seems logical to me that crude language like crap, heck, and wuss will be fine. Still, try to minimize coarse language, if you can. Any kind of swearing in excess is bad unless purely intended for comical effect. And even then, it sounds much less offensive if you have the character utter made-up or nonsensical swears, which can also be funnier than using real swears.

There's also (and if you haven't heard of 'em, I'll tell you), n***er, ba***rd, h**, sl** etc. Most of them are in rap songs. And, n***er means a racist.
