I`ve been doing some research lately, and here`s something interesting I`ve found:
Apparently, "Lexi" is a short name derived from Alexia, Alexis or Alexendra. This is interesting, because (according to Wiktionary anyway), Alexis was originally a male name, the French form of Alexius, which means helper or defender in Greek. It eventually became a female name, from which Lexi was derived.
Alexia is also a feminine of Alexius, though it also means the inability to comprehend or understand writing, but that doesn`t appear to apply here. Then there`s Alexandra, which is the feminine of Alexander, which itself takes it`s roots from Alexandros, which roughly translates to "protector of man", similar to Alexius.
Of course, I read all this on Wiktionary, but it`s no better to assume it`s 100% false than it is to asume it`s 100% true.
So, Cali`s links to words like Lex and Lexicon are interesting, but I`ve come to believe that Lexi`s name derives from one of the above names (and, indeed, I wouldn`t be surprised if her full name is Alexandra, in particular. Alexandra Bunny has kind of a nice ring, don`t you think?)
As I said in one of the analysis topics, Lexi's names does mean "defender of men". It could have something to do with the fact she's the only female member of the team.
I think I saw that somewhere here. Whoops...well, at least now that info`s in a place everyone can conveniently look it up. I don`t think it has to do with the fact she`s a woman; I think whoever named Lexi thought it would be a good name for a female defending mankind (which the Loonatics do).
i think they took Lexi because is sounds firey... which Lexi is. *golf claps aswell because Lillypupu's theory is better than hers*
