He was walking inside the palace, looking each corner in order to know if something is missing, after all he wanted everything will be perfect for the prince birthday, an easy job, if isn’t because the prince is always in his side. Including if he look annoyed and always said that he doesn’t like the prince, the reality he like him like a brother, like his brother.
He stop, how many years has passed since he left him in the orphanage? Since the last time he saw them… it was already 20 years but he feel like all that happened yesterday…
Tweetums: Sir Duck? Are you listening? Duck: Uh? Yeah… right…
Why was he thinking about them, after all he hated that time in his life… after all he did everything to come back to his home… but still… sometimes he miss that time… including if he was suffering and many people were behind him, wanting what he was guarding. But that happen so long ago, why now? Why he is thinking about all that.
Nobody saw it, only him, two eyes in the middle of the nothing looking at him, he wasn’t afraid, he was expecting to see them, after all, the chains around his neck still hurt.
Lexy: Duck? What is happening to you? Where is Tweetums? Duck: uh?? WHAT??? He is not with me??? Lexy: No… and what are you looking at??? I was asking about the prince for minutes and didn’t listen to me!!!
But Duck wasn’t listening; he was already searching the prince. He felt better when they find him eating something in the garden. Lexy was looking to Duck, he doesn’t look well, he was thinking in something and looking Duck’s face, it was something that was making him feel sad. The prince’s birthday was normal, as always it begin with fireworks, a big cake, the attack from some robots and people who wants Tweetums head, a great battle from the Loonatics, Slam ate almost everything, three boys were behind Lexy (and knew her powers when she is angry), Tech has to hid because a lot of fangirls… a normal day… but Duck was still strange, Ace was looking at him worried, it wasn’t normal that Duck was like that, looking worried, and why the duck was always touching his neck? Was he sick?
Duck: Why? Did something happen? No, impossible, after he became the One everything returned to normal… but still… I feel like something is wrong… is he OK? Lexy: What’s wrong and who is the One?
Duck looked behind him, Lexy, Ace and Rev were looking at him, he forgot Lexy super hearing powers. He didn’t answer.
Ace: tell us what is happening to you Duck, you’re not looking as always… normal… Duck: And what is normal? *He smile* Ace: well… there are a lot of good looking girls and you are not with them telling them that you are cool and telling lies about you’re the Loonatics leader, etc… Lexy didn’t liked when Ace said the word “Good looking girls” Lexy: yeah… and since this afternoon your mind is in another place Rev: and-do-not-forget-you-didn’t-fight-against-the-robots-as-always Ace: so… will you tell me or I ask Tech to invent a read mind machine in order to know what is happening.
Why? He asked himself… no matter that he always is annoying and try that everybody never love him, no matter how many times he try to do people be away from him… those people finish to always be worried about him… and treat him as friend… those people finish loving him.
Duck: I wonder… if a read mind machine will work… after all… some secrets can’t be known. Ace: Secrets? What secrets? Duck: You wanted to know what is happening to me… well… that’s what is happening to me… I feel better… where did you said there are some good looking girls?
And he go away, Lexy, Ace and Rev didn’t understood what Duck said. Weeks after, Duck looked normal and including if he never talked about that conversation again; the others Loonatics were wondering what happened to Duck that day. In the middle of the nothing, where all can be seen and in same time nothing can be seen, two forms were looking to the nothing.
Woman voice: Do you think he understood? Man voice: yes… after all, a guardian will always be guardian… including if is an ex guardian… Woman voice: That sounds weird… Man voice: hahahahahahahahahaha… well… after all I have to use weird phrases with a weird guy… talking about weird, do you want to go there isn’t? Another man voice: yes… I know how he works… how both works Man voice: true… after all… you are his Brother… Woman voice: were… you mean were… after all… what begun one million years ago and in same time one second ago has already an end Man voice: and in same time… it will never end… Another man voice: And he knows that… after all… the same thing he said to me the day I left him in the orphanage.
