Rev has taken the lead following some ways be hinde is Tech E. Coyote Then there's the leader Ace Duck is keeping up shortly behind then Lexi Bunny and still in the stables is Slamacus.
Me: *announcer voice* Duck and Ace are tied for third while Lexi's in fourth and Slam bringing up the rear. They're trying to catch up fast but it seems that Tech and Rev are too far infront.

Actuelly, I do think Duck could be in possesion of a quite deep personality.
Considering that he might just be trying to make up for something with his ego.
For example it could be he was a travestite, and because he fealt ashamed about it, he tries to build up a big masculine image to feel more comfortable.
Duck has a very unclear background. I mean, he was brought up in an orphanage - what happened to his parents? He has four dark secrets. He's capable of feeling guilt ('In the Pinkster'). He brings comedy into the show. Jason Marsden did great voice acting. He's the only skeptic while others trust blindly (such as Deuce, but Pinkster is an exception). He has a sarcastic edge.
Doesn't any of that intrigue you?

He's probably the most complicated character on the show given that we know he grew up in an orphanage, yeah. Despite everything, though, I still find him too self-involved to pick him as my favorite. I think it's too much of a recurring trait to be merely "outward", too.
And to put it bluntly, Duck is sarcastic, self-involved and a bit greedy (see that one episode in which Slam starred, I forgot the name) because Daffy is too.
I do think he is the funniest character on the show (I think Daffy is the funniest Loony Tunes too), but not much more.
I think the reason why I like Tech and Rev so much is because the deviate the most from their original characters. It makes them interesting.
I don’t know how many people have read my findings related to children raised in institutions back in the Everything About Duck thread, but I’ll reiterate here in short…
It’s been discovered that children raised in institutions, such as orphanages, don’t end up spending enough time with a single adult influence. They end up growing to be emotionally, physically and mentally undeveloped in comparison to children who are raised in a reasonably stable family environment.
The reason why he’s so emotionally cold to people and appears to be somewhat detached from compassionate feelings (even though he’s displayed some here and there through the series), could very well stem from his time within the orphanage.
I also believe that Duck keeps himself reserved to a certain extent because he doesn’t want to become too attached to someone in case he were to ever lose that person. His nastiness is probably a barrier for himself to keep from becoming too emotionally involved…
I could prattle on about this, but I’m just gunna stop here… I doubt that anyone is very intrigued… *shifty eyes*

I never thought of it that way. Him being the only skeptic while everyone else is too trusting. Interesting.
I still comparatively loathe the episode In The Pinkster, mostly because they essentially vilify Porky Pig. I mean, come on, what's the crap!? That was almost as bad as when they vilified the Granny. Grah, in some respects, Season 2 was a train wreck. The only really fantabulous thing, in my opinion, about Season 2 was that it had The Family Business, which was quite the epitome of awesome.
*Ahem* I'm going off on a bit of a tangent now. I don't even know what STARTED that. Probably because In The Pinkster was the episode where it was revealed that Duck lived in an orphanage.
Maybe it's also because I'm PISSED. We had to do a poetry explication in English, and we only had to write 2 pages. But I wanted to do REALLY good, and I loved the poem we were explicating, so I ended up writing FIVE pages, full of quotes from the poem to back up my interpretations, cross-references to similar works and 3 pages of in-depth commentary. And I just looked at my grade online, and I got a bloody FIFTY FIVE on it. An F. What! I am so angry right now and at the same time I want to cry.
And also I have to study for a hardcore Calculus test tomorrow which is chock full of material I suck at.
Aaaahhh, look at me, veering completely off topic again. Apologies. I am a mess. =(
Acutally, 'In the Pinkester' is one of my favs, not only because they reveal something more about Duck's background but also because they made Pinkster the bad guy. It was an nteresting twist, because it is hard to imagine that a descndent of Porky could be nasty. We are all individuals - just because the parent is nice doesn't mean his kid is. To tell you the truth, it gets kind of boring when they make the descendants clones of their ancestors. And I always thought Granny was a *****, because she never appreciates that Sylvester is a cat so birds are a source of food to him. Which person in their right mind would keep a canary (Tweety), a cat (Slyvester) and dog (Hector)?! I'm glad that in this series they made Grannicus and Sylthvester on the same side.
And Dragon Wing, don't worry about the test too much. When it comes to literature, the teachers can get very specific and you lose points even if you slightly steer away from the question. I should know, I did O Level English Lit and kept receiving marks just like you but in the end got an A when I did the O level. But I did take the teacher's comments into consideration.

The fact that Pinkster turned evil isn’t as farfetched as you think; there were many a time within cartoons in which Porky starred where Porky ends up losing it and chucks an absolute hissy about something or another. Porky himself had a dark side, so why can Pinkster not have an overall dark personality? Just my 5c worth (We doen’t have 2c coins here in Australia XD )
I did like In the Pinkster because it showed a deeper aspect to Duck’s personality. I mean, I’ve never seen Duck dedicate so much of his time and devoted care to one single person, even if it was because he felt guilty about the two-sided coin. But doesn’t that of itself prove that Duck’s willing to attempt to redeem himself and to make up for his mistakes?
Wow, this thread kinda turned into a Duck discussion thread. XD
Eh, I’m s’posed to be doing an essay on the main aspects and characteristics found within ancient Egyptian art… And then I’ve gotta re-do my monologue and write a context statement for it and a record of progress… And then I haffta start an art assignment that was due in yesterday… D:

Hmm, maybe I didn't give In The Pinkster (or a lot of the S2 episodes) a fair chance. I'm pretty sure I've only seen it once, and that was like eight months ago.
