Here's the story that you voted for me to write up first. So enjoy ! And if you wonder who the villain I've used is, read "The Big Sneeze" in the naughty section.
Chapter 1
"You have to do better than that to try and out smart me again Loonatics!" The villainess who called herself the Violet Rose, raised her arm to summon another giant plant, with the pink petaled jaws snarled and zoomed in to try and attack the Loonatics in a florist's shop in the mall.
"Lets split up Loonatics!" Ace ordered as they all flew into different directions, avoiding the snapping jaws of the monstrous plant.
Lexi stood herself up from her commando roll and shot out a laser that hit the monster. It gave a screeching roar. Violet Rose floated elegantly towards the orchids and brung them to life. The jaws of the orchids formed and the teeth formed along the edges of the jaws. Violet Rose gave a smirk.
"Lets see how you handle the spores!" She cackled as the orchids blew out an orange cloud.
The Loonatics started to cough badly until Slam spun instictively like a tornado and started collecting the pollen from the air. Still spinning rapidly, he spun towards Violet Rose and stopped spinning around. He quickly jumped out of the pollen cloud as the villainess started to cough as they did a moment ago. This gave Tech a chance to pull out his gluco gun and took aim at her. He pulled the trigger and before the Violet Rose could look around her, she was struck by the blast and found herself restricted in a jelly like substance so the only part of her body she could move was her head.
"Get me out of here!" She screamed in rage.
"Sure." Ace said casually. "After we get you to jail again."
After she was taken back to prison by the police officers in the truck, the florist shop was finally cleaned up with the Loonatics help.
"Thank you so much for your help." The female florist owner smiled. "I cannot thank you enough."
"It's quite alright ma'm." Ace smiled at her. "We're just doing our job. Just take care."
He then turned to the others.
"Okay Loonatics. Lets go!"
But as they were about to leave, Ace suddenly held onto his head with one of his hands as he gave a brief moan of pain. Lexi immediately held onto the other arm as the others looked at the male rabbit in concern.
"Ace! Are you alright?" Lexi asked.
Ace's hand floated down to his side again as he gave a glance at her.
"Yeah. I'm fine." He finally answered. "Lets get back to HQ." ______________________________________________________
That afternoon, nothing much happened in the HQ apart from the usual activity going on. Tech was in his lab tweaking with his latest creation, Ace and Lexi were in the training room, and Rev, Slam and Duck were watching the Basherball game on the TV. As another Acmetropolis Ranger scored another goal in the game, Rev cheered while Duck frowned at him for making so much noise. Slam however stared odourlessly at the screen until he felt a sharp pain in his head. His hand quickly touched his head and held it as both of the birds stared at the Tasmanian devil.
"Slam. Are you okay?" Rev inquired.
Slam nodded his head.
"I'm fine."
"Do you think there's an illness going around?" Duck asked both of them. "I mean Ace had a headache back at the mall."
"I don't know." Rev stroked his chin. "I guess it's one of those random sharp pains you get in your head from time to time. I mean that happens to me sometimes but I wouldn't say there's an illness going around."
"It's okay." Slam interrupted. "I'll just take something to take the pain away."
He pushed himself up from the red sofa and walked away from the birds who remained seated on the sofa. It wasn't until they heard a huge thud that they gave a sudden jump of shock. Duck and Rev turned around from the sofa to see what was going on. But then their expressions changed into panic as they looked down onto the floor. Slam lied unconscious on his stomach on the floor. Duck and Rev sprung from the sofa and approached the motionless Tasmanian devil.
"Slam! Slam!" Rev shook him violently. "Slam! Are you okay!?"
"He's not going to be able to say anything you idiot!" Duck yelled. "He's unconscious!"
"What's going on?" Tech exited from his lab and saw the scene in front of him.
He too widened his eyes.
"Lets get him to the med room!" Tech said. "Rev! Go get Ace and Lexi!"
Rev obediently ran off to find the two rabbits as Duck and Tech tried to regain consciousness from the lifeless Tasmanian devil.
Cassidy: Calm down, you over-hyper person. She's only started.
Me: I know! I was afraid to miss it! *continues panicking*
Cassidy: *hits Danielle over the head with a pillow*
Me: *faints to gound, unconscious*
Cassidy: *sighs happily* Peace and quiet.

Everyone stood around the unconscious Tasmanian devil lying on the med bed. They could hear his deep breathing through a oxygen mask. But his face remained peaceful as though he was asleep. However, the other Loonatic's faces were full of concern as Tech inspected Slam for a symptom.
"I-Is he gonna be okay?" Rev said slowly.
"He'll be alright." Tech replied. "He's just got a fever. You guys should get back to what you were doing while I check him over more in case there's something else I've missed. I'll let you know if something else comes up."
Hesitantly, they nodded their heads as they exited out of the med room. ___________________________________________________________
"You really think Slam is gonna be alright?" Lexi asked Ace as they both rentered the training room.
The male rabbit turned to face her with a face of assurement.
"He'll be okay. Like Tech said, it's only a fever and he'd let us know if anything has developed."
He then stood in a karate stance with a cheeky smile written across his face.
"Besides, we haven't finished our one on one hand to hand combat yet."
Lexi gave the same expression as he did as she readied herself in the same stance. They strided around in a circle, still keeping eye contact with each other. Suddenly, Lexi charged at Ace. She was going to throw a right punch at him when he successfully blocked it. He blocked another punch from her left fist and pushed her away from himself. Lexi stumbled as she tried to regain her balance. She saw Ace charging at her like she did him. She prepared herself by standing in her stance. Ace was about to go for another attack and readied his right fist when suddenly, a sharp pain ran through his head. He let his guard down a little bit and Lexi managed to see her attack through by pushing him away. Ace flew across the room and skidded on the floor. He panted as Lexi approached him as she gave a giggle.
"What's up Ace?" She smiled. "You let your guard down."
Ace slowly pushed himself up from the floor and stood in his stance again. Only this time, he looked as though he wobbling on his legs.
"I'm alright." He responded. "You just got lucky."
Lexi stood in her stance ready for a punch from her opponent. But all he could offer was a slow lunge and a few gasps for air. Lexi's face screwed up with uncertainty.
"Ace. Are you sure? You don't look well."
Ace's body started to wobble out of balance as his head drooped down.
"Lexi..." He stammered. "I think I'm gonna-"
He suddenly fell forward as Lexi managed to catch him on time. She laid him down gently and realised he became unconscious too.
"Ace! Ace!" She yelled as she shook him frantically. "Ace! Wake up!"
The next thing she heard was Duck and Rev bursting through the doors. She spun her head round to find the two birds approaching her with the unconscious rabbit in her arms.
"What's wrong Lexi?" Rev asked. "We were just playing a video game until we heard you yelling. So we thought we'd just see what's going on."
"Ace has fainted!" Lexi started to cry with tears in her eyes. "We have to get Tech and bring him to the med room!"
"Me and Duck willcarry him there!" Rev suggested.
Suddenly, Duck flinched and held his head with both of his hands.
"I can't." He groaned. "My head feels dizzy."
"Duck!" Lexi snapped. "Just because you don't want to carry around Ace because Slam was heavey to carry, that doesn't mean you can't help!"
"No! I mean it!" Duck seethed through his teeth. "I feel so weak! I think I'm gonna faint too!"
Before anyone could say anything else, Duck collapsed onto the floor like a ragdoll. Rev attended to him as Lexi frowned.
"Rev! He's just faking it!" She said angrily. "Just leave him there and help Ace! He'll get up eventually!"
Rev pinched Duck's thumb really hard. There was no reaction. He felt the mallard's forehead and then turned to Lexi.
"I don't think he's faking it." The roadrunner concluded. "He's burning up really fast and he would have reacted by now if he was faking it. He didn't stir from the really hard pinch."
Lexi's face turned into an expression of fear. She didn't really think that the situation could turn so serious. Especially now that three of the Loonatics have developed a fever. All Rev and Lexi were concerned about now was getting Duck and Ace to the med room and also whether they were going to catch the illness.
Ace and Duck laid unconscious on separate beds, both with an oxygen mask placed across their face. As they drew another breath from the gas, Lexi and Rev gazed at the three motionless Loonatics in a worried state. None of them could express their feelings right now. One because it was obvious how they were both feeling and secondly because they couldn't think of a way to fill in the silence. Finally Tech approached them from behind, making them both turn around to see him with some wrist bands in his left hand.
"What are those you got in your hands?" Lexi asked quietly.
"Yeah. I mean don't they all just have a fever?" Rev added in confusion.
"These are mutation bands." The coyote began. "When I was inspecting Slam, I discovered another indication that I don't think any other illness can carry with them."
"And what's that?" Lexi stammered.
From the tremble in her voice, she was scared of what Tech was going to say. But before he could tell them both, a loud coughing fit interrupted his speech. Everyone spun around to find Ace coughing violently. Instictively, Tech, Lexi and Rev ran towards the rabbit. Tears began streaming down her eyes.
"Oh my God! Ace! What's wrong!? Please tell us what's wrong!" She squealed.
"He's choking!" Tech said as he removed the oxygen mask from Ace's muzzle.
Lexi spun her head to glare at the coyote.
"What do mean 'he's coking'!?" She screeched at him.
"Oh my God!" Rev gasped. "What's that coming from his mouth!?"
Everyone stared at the rabbit's mouth. Ace gave another loud cough, spitting out what appeared to be red flower petals. Rev and Lexi's faces were aghast at the sight, they didn't even realise that Tech pushed some liquid into Ace's arm with a syringe. The violent coughing hushed, bringing Ace back to his relaxed state as before like the others. But Lexi still felt shaken inside after what she saw. Never had she had to witness anything so horrifying as someone coughing up flower petals. She fidgeted with her fingers until Tech broke her overwhelmed trance.
"He's okay for now. But it hasn't gotten rid of the virus. These bands will monitor the progress of the virus until we find a cure for them. But for now, we'll have to see what stage the virus is at."
"So why do we have to wear them?" Rev inquired. "We're not sick or anything."
"No." Tech answered. "But just in case the virus is contagious, we're gonna have to be monitored as well."
He gave the bands to Rev and Lexi for them to slip on while Tech slipped the other bands on the unconscious Loonatics.
"As you can see, our bands are white." Tech continued. "That means we haven't been contaminated with the virus yet."
Tech then pointed at Duck's wrist band which is covered in black spots.
"When the wristband show spots on it, it means the virus has taken effect and is trying to infect the body. But then when it turns completely black, we have a problem."
"And why would that be?" Lexi asked shakily.
"Because that means the virus is at it's final stage." The coyote said sadly. "Should there be a final stage to the virus, then that could result in terrible consequences. That could result in death."
Both the rabbit and roadrunner's put on alarmed faces. The amount of fear crossed inside of them. They didn't know what to say.
"So have you found something that could cure them?" Lexi finally spoke.
"Not yet." Tech replied. "But I have a theory of what caused them to become affected is within the petals."
He picked one up carefully with a pair of tweezers and carried it towards the table where a microscope sat. He placed it on a glass slide and squeezed a drop of iodine from a pipette and placed another glass slide over the iodised petal. He placed the slides under the microscope and turned the knobs of the microscope to try to get a good focus on what information the petal held within it. Rev and Lexi watched in fascination until the scientist lifted his head up.
"Well?" Rev waited in anticipation.
Tech shook his head.
"It's no use. Unless we find out what flower these petals come from, we won't be able to progress."
They all dropped the expressions on the faces in disappointment until Lexi pricked her head up as though she suddenly thought of something.
"Hang on just one moment." She told them as she ran out of the room.
She sprinted towards her room and threw open the door. Her head turned frantically until her eyes set upon a sash made out of vines, leaves and flowers that she kept as a souvenir from her time in Apocolypso. She grabbed them and ran back into the med room and passed it to Tech.
"I don't know what these flowers are called," Lexi panted. "But the petals on these flowers looked similar to the ones Ace coughed up."
Tech broke a petal off one of the flowers from the sash and placed it under the microscope. He inspected the petal once more and responded with a more positive expression on his face.
"Eureka!" He exclaimed. "The flowers are exactly the same as the ones Ace brought up!"
"So the virus must somehow be connected to Apocolypso!" Lexi lightened up.
"Now our next problem is how to communicate with them since they left Earth." Tech stroked his chin.
"We'll just have to look for them!" Rev said optimistically.
"Rev's right!" Lexi agreed. "Lets try it anyway!"
"I'll keep an eye on the others." Tech proposed as the other two ran out of the room to the meeting room to start their search for The Apocozons.
AH HAH! That's why Tech and Rev haven't caught it! They never went to Apocolypso!
Cassidy: There's a little hole in your theory...
Me: What?
Cassidy: Lexi went to Apocolypso, why didn't she catch it?
Me:......Oh.

AH HAH! That's why Tech and Rev haven't caught it! They never went to Apocolypso! Cassidy: There's a little hole in your theory... Me: What? Cassidy: Lexi went to Apocolypso, why didn't she catch it? Me:......Oh.
You says in your profile you've been writing for 3 years, and based on this fiction, that experience really shows. This is such high quality stuff, you have a knack! Great job so far!
in the end nothing maters so why be coshes in life? live like you whant to live but do not dwingle in sorow. You deside your mental status so why desid to be sad? desid to be happy. Even if you live a thousedn years life is still short. Even if you live a milon years life is still not worth it with out love.
Lexi stared at the large screen while turning a dial on the control panel. The search seemed fruitless from her part so she turned her head to Rev, who was typing rapidly on the keyboard like bullets being fired from a gun.
"Have you got anything?" Lexi asked Rev.
"Not from what I'm seeing here." He responded back. "Nothing on the new location of the Apocozons."
Without them realising, Tech entered the meeting room.
"So have you found them yet?" The coyote inquired.
Lexi and Rev finally turned around to see the canine approaching them.
"Were you meant to be with the others?" Lexi expressed confusion to him.
"Don't worry." Tech assured them both. "I gave the others something to ease the coughs. So they should have calmed down for now."
He looked at the blank computer screens displaying no results of a certain location.
"You didn't find them then?" He assumed.
Both of the Loonatics shook their heads sadly.
"Nope. Nothing. We couldn't find one single lead." The roadrunner disgressed sadly. "All we keep getting was links to websites that said things about films or holiday resorts."
"Maybe I should have helped out as well." Tech muttered as he took control of the panel Lexi was controling and typed on the keyboard. "If I could do something on here without it playing up, it should do it."
The screen then flashed to show a purple and orange planet against the navy blue sky with stars scattered around. Tech pulled back from the keyboard and gave a satisfied smile to the others.
"There we have it."
"Wow!" Rev exclaimed in amazement. "How did you do that!?"
"I decided to read up on Dr Chroniker's journals and tried out ways of communicating with those who are lightyears away from us." The coyote gave a little bow.
"So we can talk to Athena?" Lexi said.
"Absolutely." Tech approved. "Just press this button here and you can talk with Athena live."
Lexi walked over to the panel and pressed the button Tech instructed her to press and waited for a response. The screen fuzzed for a few seconds until finally, an image of a woman with pastelly green skin, wearing what looked like a golden Egyptian hat with light yellow robes. The woman gave a shocked expression as she saw Lexi on her side of the screen.
"Lexi?" The woman sounded puzzled to see the rabbit.
"Hi Athena." Lexi smiled as she waved to the screen. "How are things on the new Apocolypso?"
"It is thriving successfully thank you." The queen smiled back in response. "So what brings you to communicate to us?"
"We have a little problem. And we're hoping you can help us, seeing as you are our last hope." The rabbit imposed.
"Really?" Athena softened her face to seriousness. "What seems to be the problem?"
"Well my friends, Duck, Ace and Slam have fallen ill with a fatal illness." She started to explain. "And whatever seems to have caused the virus, has something to do with what happened on Apocolypso."
Athena nodded solemnly.
"I see. Tell me, do they feel feverish and have coughed up some flower petals from their throats?"
"Yes!" Lexi gasped. "So do you know what's wrong with them?"
"Indeed I do." Athena bought her hands together and rested her head over them. "They have the "Sanguinea Somn Nigra" illness."
"Sanguinea Somn Nigra?" Tech frowned.
"Those pods that I put them in had spores that kept them asleep unless they could be cleared away from them or if the plant was cut enough for them to escape." Athena revealed. "Those spores must have remained dormant within your friends until they come into contact with another type of spore or pollen that reacted from within their bodies."
"Of course!" Lexi proclaimed. "The orchids Violet Rose used to try and get away when we were trying to catch her!"
"The foreign pollen must have reacted in their bodies, within their lungs." The queen continued. "Thus creating a fever just to speed the reaction up and creating petals from their blood."
"So they were actually coughing up their own blood?" Rev clarified by a question. "Eeeeww!"
"You could say that." Athena complied. "This illness is not contageous. It would only happen to those who have slept in the pods."
"So Tech and Rev didn't get affected because they never went to Apocolypso to get kidnapped and put to sleep in the first place." Lexi realised.
"Nor did it affect you because you didn't get put into those pods as well." Tech indicated to the rabbit.
"That is correct." Athena said. "But now you want to know how to cure them. The cure is the nectar which gave Lexi the power over plants and fuelled our ship."
"So do you think you could give us some of your nectar to help them get better?" Lexi appealed to her.
"Unfortunately because of the difference in time and space, we cannot simply deliver the nectar to you because that will take millions of years to do so." Athena said regretfully.
"So we can't cure them?" Lexi's face dropped in dissappointment.
"However, since you Loonatics help us to find a new planet for us to live on, I will give you the recipe to make the nectar." The woman compensated.
"You will?" The rabbit's face lit up.
"Yes." Athena nodded. "The ingredients you need to make the nectar are sea water, the pollen from the orchid and the petals that your friends have coughed up. You also need to obtain the nitrate and magnesium mineral ions as well. You need to heat them at body temperature and take it to them when the solution is green."
"Just one more question for you Athena;" Rev added, "What happens if we don't manage to get it to them on time?"
"If you don't succeed in giving them the nectar, they will suffer a slow and painful death." Athena answered. "So if you want to save your friends, it is vital that this nectar is made. I have done all I cane for you now."
"Alright. Thank you Athena. We will do our best." Lexi gave a face of determination.
"And I will be praying for your friend's health." The queen concluded. "Farewell."
The screen switched off as Lexi turned to Tech and Rev.
"Alright guys! Lets go find those ingredients!" She declared to them.
I wonder, how are they going to get that much seawater when they don't have Duck? And to get that orchid pollen, they're going to have to pay Violet Rose a visit, right? Hm......this is getting interesting......

The three Loonatics stood around the table gazing down on a small bucket of sea water, some petals that Tech saved from the cough Ace had.
"Well that's two out of four so far." Lexi certified as she looked up to both Tech and Rev.
"We still need to get the nitrate and magnesium mineral ions and the pollen from the orchid that we all breathed in." Rev reminded them.
"I better go check on how Ace and the others are getting on." Tech decided as he left the other two Loonatics to discuss on how they were going to obtain the next few ingredients.
Once Tech shut the door behingd him, Lexi and Rev turned their heads to stare at each other.
"Well if we're going to obtain the mineral ions, we're gonna have to obtain them from the plants that Ace coughed up so we wouldn't introduce them to more foreign pollen." Rev advised.
"You're right." Lexi agreed. "But I wonder if the florist shop is still open. Or even more, I wonder if the orchids are still there."
"I'm sure they would." Rev cheerfully assured her. "We'll just wait for Tech and then we can get going."
"But we don't have time to wait." Lexi thought in her head as she gazed out of the window with a worried expression on her face. _________________________________________________________
Tech lifted Slam's wrist with the wristband still around his wrist. He then placed it back on the bed and checked the band on Duck's wrist. Again, he placed it back on his bed as he did Slam. The coyote gave a deep sigh and gave a pitiful look upon them.
"They're alright for now." He muttered to himself.
He was about to turn and leave when he heard a raspy voice call him.
"Tech. Is that you?"
The coyote spun around to find Ace was conscious. Tech approached him slowly and pulled himself a chair sit on. He sat on the chair with the back of it facing the bed Ace was lying on.
"So you're feeling okay?" The coyote asked.
The rabbit just smiled in response.
"Obviously not better." He replied. "But I'm not in too much pain."
"That's good to hear." Tech said.
There was a brief pause before Ace started again.
"Are the others asleep?" He whispered.
The coyote looked around his shoulder to find Duck and Slam still unconscious. He turned his head back to Ace and nodded.
"They're asleep."
"So what's wrong with us?" Ace inquired. "Has anyone else got it yet?"
"No-one else is going to get it strangely enough." Tech started. "Do you remember the trip to Apocolypso? You were put to sleep in some pods until Lexi released you apparently."
"That was a trip which didn't go as planned." Ace chuckled. "Yeah. We were put to sleep. But what does that have to do with the reason why me, Duck and Slam are sick?"
"Well obviously there was a spore that put you and the other two asleep in the pods." The canine continued. "We fast forward it to today when Violet Rose used some orchid monsters to try to choke us with the pollen. That pollen reacted with the spore that has been dormant in you that caused a reaction within your body, causing you to fall ill."
Ace looked up to the ceiling with an emotionless face.
"So what's going on then?" The rabbit asked again.
"We're trying to find some ingredients so we could make a cure for you to get better." Tech explained until he looked down onto the ground sadly. "But if we don't get it to you in time, I'm afraid you won't make it."
"So we could die?" Ace clarified that.
Tech nodded his head as Ace turned his head to gaze at him.
"You know, Lexi's doing a great job at being second in command." He began. "She really has improved since the first time we met."
"How could I forget?" Tech leant his head against his hand that supported it. "She was really shy and didn't say much to us until she started to join in."
"And all because of rejection." Ace finished the coyote's sentence. "When she told me what happened before the meteor crashed, I figured it out. I just told her to hang loose and have fun."
"So that's what made her change." Tech realised. "She sure knows how to have a lot of it now."
"Uh huh." The rabbit agreed. "I'm quite glad she is and all. She looks cute when she's happy and having a great time."
Tech's face gave a teasing smile.
"You don't by any chance like her do you?" He interrogated the patient. "I mean, do you 'like her' like her?"
Ace laughed quietly and smiled at him again.
"Well you finally found that out Sherlock."
The rabbit looked back up to the ceiling once more.
"She's a really cool girl." Ace added. "I didn't see any reason why she should have got treated like a reject."
"Most likely jealousy." Tech commented.
"Obviously that." Ace said. "But she's more mature than before. Plus she's got one heck of a figure and a face I don't think anyone can refuse."
"Then why are you saying all this to me?" Tech giggled. "Shouldn't you say how you feel about her face to face? Or are you having some form of fever dream?"
Ace chuckled.
"I suppose I am." He replied. "Are the others waiting for you outside?"
"Most probably." The coyote answered. "I should leave you to rest now."
Tech got up from the chair and was about to walk out of the door when Ace called him again.
"Tech?"
The canine turned around to face the rabbit with his hand on the door handle.
"Yes?"
"If I do die, tell her I love her." Ace requested.
Tech gave a chuckle.
"You can tell her that yourself when you're cured." He said as opened the door and exited out of the med room.
That last part was so sweet. You had Tech in-character so well, I could hear him saying that! It was so cool!

CassidyCoyote: I did? I'm glad I did. The part where Ace and Tech were talking was completely imrovised (apart from the fact that I decided to have them talking about Lexi). So for to say that, I feel happy about that. Thanks.
Stargirl: Ha ha! Only I know their fate. You'll just have to wait and see. Thanks anyway.
Siamese: Correction. Find the ingredients for the cure. But still, yeah, I either written a TechxAce or a AcexLexi part for that chapter. Whichever one, you decide.
Thanks for the comments and I shall put up the next chapter as soon as possible .
The other three Loonatics arrived at the florist shop that they captured Violet Rose in and entered through the doors. They saw the place was a little tidier than before but the female florist was still sweeping the soil that was spilt onto the floor from the flower pots. The woman looked up and saw the Loonatics approaching her. She stopped sweeping and greeted them with a smile.
"Welcome back." She said. "How may I help you?"
"Have you still got those orchids which turned into monsters earlier?" Lexi asked.
"Well what did they look like?" The woman asked.
"They were white with yellow spots and had orange pollen inside." Tech described to her.
"Oh. They must be the Albisflavi Aurei orchid." The florist concluded.
"So can we buy one?" Rev inquired.
"I'm sorry." The woman shook her head. "Those flowers were badly damaged so you'll have to wait for two weeks until you can get them from this shop."
"Two weeks!?" They all exclaimed in shock.
"But we really really really really really really really do need one this instant!" Rev gushed. "It's an emergency and that flower and only that flower is the only thing that can save the lives we need to save! Please! You have to get us one immediately!"
"I'm sorry sir." The florist apologized. "But the fastest we could get the flowers here is two weeks. We can't go any faster."
"That's alright." Tech sighed. "We'll wait until it arrives."
"What!?" Rev squeeked. "We need to help our friends!"
"Sorry for the trouble." Lexi pardoned the florist.
"Don't worry. We'll let you know when the orchids arrive." The woman waved to them as they left the shop. __________________________________________________________
Once they returned to the tower, Tech was extracting some minerals from the petals that were coughed up while Lexi looked out of the window into the afternoon horizon. Rev however strode up and down the room until he stopped at the coyote.
"How could you say that to her when our friends are in desperate need!?" He snapped at Tech.
The canine looked up to the angry roadrunner.
"Look. It would have been a bigger waste of time if we stayed there even longer." Tech expalined calmly and turned his back to the bird to continue collecting the minerals from the petals.
"But if we managed to get her to get more of those orchids quickly, then that wouldn't have been a problem! Or don't you care about what happens to our team mates!?" Rev argued.
Tech clenched his fists and turned around sharply to face Rev.
"I care about them as much as you do!" He rose the volume of his voice.
"Well you didn't fight hard to get the orchid from her didn't you!?" Rev shot back.
"Stop it you two!" Lexi finally yelled as she took her eyes off the outside view. "We all care for Ace, Duck and Slam and we all want to help them! But arguing about it is not going to help us get them any better! So just pack it in you two and think about why we're doing all this!"
"Fine!" Rev barked. "I go and check up on the others so I wouldn't have to see the coyote for some time!"
And with that, he marched into the med-room and slammed the door shut. Tech just continued extracting more nutrients from the petals while Lexi just looked at the door that Rev just slammed in concern. _________________________________________________________
Rev leant against the door with his fists stuck to it. He pushed himself from the door and wandered amongst the motionless anthros. He lifted each arm with the wristbands around their wrists. They were all still spotty. Once Rev checked the last wristband, he sat down on a chair between Slam's and Duck's bed and brung his hands behind his head to cushion it while leaning against the wall. He stared up to the ceiling and took some deep breaths. He couldn't believe that he argued with someone else over a very serious matter. Especially with Tech. He took a deep sigh and wandered in the mixed up thoughts until he heard a croaky voice.
"You know? All that noise outside was giving me a headache."
Rev gave a small jolt as he looked around him until he noticed Duck was awake. The roadrunner spun around on his chair and faced the mallard lying down on the bed.
"Duck! Are you okay!?" Rev exclaimed.
Duck turned his head slightly to make eye contact with Rev.
"Well fine as in ill but okay for now." He spoke. "You and Tech caused such a racket outside, I could hear you."
"Sorry." Rev nervously giggled. "It's just we were trying to get that orchid that we were sprayed with, and Tech just thought we should leave it. And the pollen from that is the only ingredient left that we have to collect. And if we delay it any longer, you might die."
"Die?" Duck said. "So this illness could kill us? Great."
"But we're doing all we can to help you guys get better." Rev assured him. "Lexi is just finding the quickest way to get the orchid and Tech's just collecting some nitrate and magnesium minerals for the antidote."
"That's good to hear." Duck murmured as he looked away and back at Rev. "You really should apologize to Tech. Both of you should."
"Why should I apologize to him when he acted so stupid!?" Rev frowned at him.
"Because you two always apologize whenever you both have an arguement." The mallard continued. "Don't lie. I've noticed it. The thing is, you two are best friends. You two get along so well. Okay you have your little arguements. But you always manage to get back together again as though the arguement never happened. And for that, I'm jealous."
"Jealous?" Rev gave a puzzled look at Duck. "What do you mean?"
"Well for starters, I could never have forgiven myself after that coin thing with Pinkster and me getting fostered before him. Even though he supposedly planned it, I still couldn't help but feel bad." He continued. "Second of all, no matter how hard I try, I can never get it right with you guys. I know it sounds a little selfish but I feel as though I'm not appreciated enough by people. No matter what happens, it goes wrong and it feels like I'm the one to blamed for the accident."
"Duck! How can you say that!?" Rev objected. "You've helped us in many things! You know, with Aldolpho and the nectar in Apocolypso? If you haven't have been there, Acmetropolis would have been destroyed and we would have all been dead! Duck, you're a really valuable member of the team and sometimes, I wish I could be just as heroic as you!"
"Really?" Duck tilted his head up to stare at the roadrunner.
"Of course!" He continued. "Sometimes you can be annoying, selfish, irritating, egolistical and mean. But you have lots of determination, confidence and is willing to do anything to save other people's lives. And you know that time when we both worked together to see where Mastermind, Massive and the rest of the villains escaped to. When I was put with you, I felt really honoured to do so, because I knew that I was with someone who could give me a lot of confidence and determination to succeed in the mission. In fact, I don't think you get enough recognition in the team and that you should deserve some. So if you're not a hero than I don't know what is."
"Thanks Rev." Duck murmured again. "It's nice to know that someone appreciates someone who doesn't get enough of it."
He turned his head to face Rev again.
" You're not too bad yourself you know?" The mallard continued. "You're always cheerful and you never feel gloomy or unmotivated for any mission. You're just ready to dive into it as soon as possible. I don't even know how you can still stay happy when the worst comes to it. Sometimes, I think that in the inside there is something that makes you feel a little sad that you manage to hide up so well with your smile. I don't know how you do it."
"Well, I believe that it's pointless to worry or be sad in life." Rev spoke. "So I just take life as one big, exciting adventure. Just living it to the full you see?"
Duck chuckled for a moment until he looked back up at Rev.
"So are you going to apologize to Tech then?"
Rev stood up from his chair and smiled down at Duck.
"Yeah." He nodded. "We are best friends like you said."
"Well go do it then." Duck urged the roadrunner. "He can't wait to do the same thing too. The sooner you two kiss and make up, the better."
Rev burst into laughter. Once he managed to control it, he turned away from the patient and grabbed the handle to the door.
"I will." He giggled as he opened the door and exited through there into the living room.
Tech held a test tube up to the light and saw a small amount of the green liquid inside. He turned his head to look at Lexi.
"The nitrate and the magnesium minerals are in there now." Tech analysed the test tube. "Now all we need is the pollen from that orchid."
They heard the door from the med-room creak open. Both of them spun their heads around to watch Rev coming out of the room. The roadrunner looked up to the other two Loonatics.
"Are they okay?" Lexi asked.
Rev nodded his head.
"They're okay for now." He answered as he wandered over to where Tech stood.
The bird scratched behind his head with one hand and gave the coyote a sincere gaze.
"And I'm really sorry for shouting at you earlier." He apologised. "I know we're all worried about our friends. But I was just out of order for shouting at you like that. And I'm really sorry."
Rev offered his hand out to Tech. At first the coyote glared at the hand. But in the end he had no choice but to sigh and grab the hand and shake it.
"And I'm sorry too." Tech admitted.
Lexi sgave a relieved smile but then her face changed to seriousness again.
"Now that you guys have made up, we need to figure out a way to find the orchids and get the pollen from them." She suggested to the other guys.
Suddenly, the alarm was to be heard blaring out the loud sound. The three Loonatics ran into the meeting room where they saw the hologram of Zadavia at the centre of the column.
"You will not believe this, but the Violet Rose has managed to escape again while she was being transfered into a more secure prison cell." She announced to them.
But when she looked down upon the three Loonatics, she expressed a face of confusion.
"Where are the other three?" Zadavia inquired to the other three Loonatics.
"Ace, Duck and Slam aren't feeling too well." Lexi explained. "They got a fever."
"Well nevertheless, I trust that you three will at least do your best to try and control the situation. Even without the others to help you." The woman encouraged them. "Zadavia out."
The hologram disappeared, leaving the other three Loonatics to gaze at each other wondering what to do.
"Great! Not only do we have to find the pollen from a rare orchid, but we also have to deal with Violet Rose again!" Rev complained.
Suddenly, Lexi's ears and face perked up cheerfully as she stood up from her seat.
"And Violet Rose is exactly what we need!" She exclaimed.
The other two glanced at each other with puzzled faces.
"Why?" Rev asked. "We still need to find the pollen from the orchid!"
"And we're gonna get it from the Violet Rose!" Lexi gave a determined face to the other Loonatics. ____________________________________________________________
"Ah ha ha ha ha!" The Violet Rose cackled as she pointed her finger to a tree.
The tree's roots pulled out of the ground automatically and the feet were created. It's branchy claws emerged as it screeched like Godzilla. It's fearsome appearance forced people to runaway, screaming in terror. But the fear of the city folk gave Violet Rose the satisfaction of herself having control over the city.
"Now I bet you people wish that you never took plants for granted!" She taunted.
"Well we're gonna replant them and then you wish you'd never messed with this city!" A distant voice was heard.
Violet Rose rotated around on the spot to spot the three remaining Loonatics standing there and ready to challenge her. The woman however s******ed and tucked her navy blue hair behind her ear.
"Oh dear." She said. "Didn't some of you want to play with me anymore?"
"This isn't a game you know!" Lexi pointed at her. "You either give yourself up or we'll have to deal with you the hard way!"
"Ooh. The hard way sounds fun." Violet Rose gave an evil smile. "The hard way it is then!"
She threw her hands up in the air and green snake like vines whooshed out of the ground and zoomed after the three Loonatics. Quickly, they all managed to dodge the vines in different directions. Lexi rolled behind a car and decided to take aim with her brain blast. She shot out a pink laser from her ears as it traveled towards the Violet Rose. The villainesse spotted it from the corner of her eye and quickly jumped away. The blast hit the ground and scarred it with a burn mark. The Violet Rose rose her hands again and summoned more vines. Again, the Loonatics managed to dodge them and they missed yet again. The three anthros stood together in front of the Violet Rose. The villainesse just laughed once more.
"You can't defeat me!" She proclaimed to them.
"Well you could always defeat us with the Albisflavi Aurei orchid." Tech suggested. "We had real trouble trying to get through the spores that it breathed on us."
"I bet she can do it." Rev betted him.
"She maybe the one who can control plants. But there's no way she might be able to summon a flower as rare as that." Lexi oppsed the roadrunner.
Violet Rose clenched her fists and pointed her finger to them.
"I can control and summon any plant I choose!" She yelled. "Don't you dare undermine my power!"
"Nah. It's all talk and no action with her." Lexi smirked. "I bet she can't even summon the Albisflavi Aurei orchid."
"I'll show you how powerful I am!" The villan roared.
And with that, she focused her power on her hand as the ground started to shake. Rev, Lexi and Tech looked down onto the ground as they saw a crack emerge. A flower ead poked out from the crack. But they waited more until the flower rose up to five times their size. The petals then exploded to reveal it's white with yellow spotted petals and in the centre of the flower, was the orange pollen inside. Tech spun his head to Rev and gave him a signal.
"Now Rev!" He yelled at him.
Rev took a beaker from behind his back and zoomed towards the inside of the plant. The orchid prepared it's jaws to swallow the roadrunner up as he entered into it's deadly mouth. Once Rev managed to get to the centre, the jaws closed up on him. Lexi gasped in fright.
"Rev!"
The Violet Rose just cackled.
"What a fool!" She laughed. "Sacrificing himself and willingly rushed to his death! How funny is that!"
She continued laughing until the flower head flinched for a moment. The front of it's mouth was beating out. The flower looked as though it was trying to hold something in with all it's might. The front of the mouth suddenly stretched forward. The flower could not hold it in anymore The seal of the mouth ripped out as a red flame blasted out of the mouth. Once the flame landed on the ground, it revealed Rev covered in orange pollen with a beaker full of it. Lexi brain blasted the orchid and disintegrated it. Violet Rose's face changed from victory into shock.
"No! This can't be happening!" She stammered.
But before she could move, she was struck once again with the jelly like substance coming from Tech's glucocell gun. Her head moved violently as she tried to free herself from the substance. But to no avail.
"Get me out of here!" She screamed.
"Sorry." Lexi smiled sarcastically. "But I think you've finished gardening for one day." __________________________________________________________
Ace, Duck and Slam lied awake in the beds. They didn't know what was going on or what the others were up to. They just laid patiently.
"Do you think the others have managed to find a cure?" Ace asked the other two patients.
"Who knows?" Duck said. "If they don't hurry up, I think we are going to meet our fate."
"Don't say that!" Slam said angrily. "Lexi, Tech, and Rev are doing their best to try and help us! We'd do the same if we were in their shoes!"
Duck just huffed.
"Well anytime soon, we'll die if they can't do it." Duck said sadly.
"They will do it." Ace said in a determined tone. "I believe they can. So they will."
Suddenly, the door opened. Rev, Tech and Lexi entered with three cups filled up with the green liquid. All the patients tilted their heads up to see them all with relieved smiles on their faces.
"So did you find it?" Ace asked.
Tech showed the tray to them proudly.
"We've got it right here." He grinned as he gave the first cup to the rabbit. "You just have to drink it."
Ace glanced at the cup and then looked back up at the coyote.
"Thanks guys." He said as he sipped the green liquid.
"You too Duck." Lexi said cheerfully as she offered the mallard a cup.
Duck took the cup from her hand and took a gulp of the solution. Once he swallowed it, he screwed his face up in disgust.
"Blech! Is this meant to taste like plants!?" He moaned.
"I don't know what you're complaining about." Slam stared at him. "I'm feeling better already."
Duck gave a huff and sipped the rest of the green solution in his mouth and down his throat. Once Ace, Duck and Slam finshed the solutions, they put it back on the tray where they took them from. Tech held the tray once more as they all turned away from them.
"Now all you guys need now is rest." He advised. "You should feel better in a couple of days."
"Will do." Ace yawned as he settled himself into the bed once more.
All the others could do was smile once more at the anthros in bed as they exited through the door, feeling the biggest relief that they ever had to over come.
The morning sun rose over the horizon as Lexi stared out of the window over the city view. She looked so peaceful just standing there and watching and wandering what sort of hustle and bustle was going to take place today. Suddenly, she felt a warm hand placed on top of her shoulder. She truned her head around and smiled. Finally seeing Ace healthy and active again made her feel everything that she had gone through with Tech and Rev was worth every minute towards the end of the problem. Ace just smiled at her back.
"Are you okay now Ace?" She asked him.
"Just fine." He replied and started to hug her.
She hugged him too as she wrapped her arms around him.
"Hey. What's making you so clingy all of the sudden?" Lexi giggled.
"I'm just hugging you to say how much I wanna thank you for saving our lives." Ace answered.
"Come on Ace!" She laughed. "I know it's a little more than that."
Ace nervously began. "Well..."
They suddenly heard a scream from the kitchen. Both of the rabbits stared at each other but then sighed.
"I wonder what Duck's done now." Ace said.
Both of them separated from each other and rushed to the kitchen where Tech and Rev were already gaping in amazement. Both of the rabbits looked at the scene to find the lettuce from Slam's sandwich somehow grew long enough to be able to wrap Duck up in many layers of the lettuce leaves. Slam just stood there with the sandwich in confusion as Duck tried to struggle out of the ever growing lettuce leaves.
"Could someone give me a little help please!?" Duck pleaded.
But then Lexi started to giggle which set off Rev. Ace followed by example until finally Tech couldn't hold his laughter inside anymore. Everyone except for Duck burst out laughing. Duck just continued struggling out of the leaves.
"It's not funny!" He yelled.
He finally quacked out of the lettuce bundle and replaced himself away from the green pile. Everyone else stopped giggling until Ace noticed that Duck was standing next to a flower pot with a spider plant flowing over the edge. Ace secretly made a gesture to command the plant to come to life, using Tech's explanation of the activity as a distraction.
"I think just like Lexi in Apocolypso, when the guys drank the nectar, it sort of reacted inside with their powers so they're now able to control plant life too." The coyote explained.
"So that means I can control plants too?" Duck said.
But just as he reached the end of his sentence, he was suddenly grabbed by lots of spider plant leaves and he was yet again wrapped up in the green plant. Everyone burst out laughing although Ace was laughing the loudest. Duck didn't struggle this time. He just stood there and frowned at everyone else.
"You're all despicable!" He groaned as the other Loonatics still continued with their uproar of laughter.
THE END.
