Finally! The sequel for "The Room of the Dark" is finally unleashed starring Dagan Dingo! aww.gif Enjoy!

Chapter 1

Footsteps echoed down a clean white corridor as two doctors in white jackets strolled down the blue and grey tiled floor. A female doctor with a blonde pony-tail, carried a clipboard with some papers on it. The other male doctor's head had only a little bits of grey hair on his head while a pair of black glasses sat on his nose.

"The next patient we're going to see has made some excellent progress since being here." The male doctor deemed.

The woman looked down on the papers on her clipboard.

"Dagan Dingo?" She made sure.

The man nodded.

"About three months ago, he arrived at at this asylum for trying to attack many people, commiting robbery in the street, and also tried to bring another person down to his level of depression and mental torture." He explained. "During the three months he spent in here, he has undergone a variety amounts of therapy to get him on the right road to recovery."

The female doctor looked at the notes on the sheets again.

"It says he's been through conselling, hypnotherapy, and many types of medication." She listed.

Finally they arrived at a door with the numbers '201' on the top of it.

"So lets see what they have done for him." The male doctor said as he pushed the handle down and opened the door.

Both of the doctors entered another clean white room, with an orange dingo in a white T-shirt and trousers, counting what looked like lots of different coloured bottle caps on a table. The dingo was oblivious that anyone was in the room as he continued to sum up his bottle caps.

"Two hundred and fifty three, two hundred and fifty four, two hundred and fifty five-"

"Good afternoon Dagan." The male doctor greeted. "How are you doing today?"

The dingo gave a jolt of shock and spun around to find the two figures smiling at him. The patient then responded back with a broad grin.

"Hello Doctor Matthew." He said. "I'm doing great thank you."

"So how many bottle caps have you counted so far?" Matthew inquired.

"Oh dear." Dagan giggled. "I think I've lost count. You gave me quite a shock. I didn't even see you come in."

"I'm sorry about that." The male doctor continued. "Your temper seems to have simmered down quite a bit."

"Oh yes." The dingo agreed. "I realised now that it's pointless to get angry and hold a grudge against people just because of the little things they have done. As I look back at what I've done in the past, I feel so ashamed of my behaviour then. And I just want to set things right with the people I have caused harm to."

"And I'm sure that if you keep up with this good behaviour, you maybe out within a couple of weeks once you've finished with your therapy." Matthew told him.

"And then I can set things right with everyone?" Dagan asked.

"As many people as you wish." The doctor grinned. "But remember, you have that appointment with Mr Whitton at three 'o' clock. So we shall see you later."

"Okay." Dagan smiled once more. "See you."

The doctors waved him goodbye as they exited out of the room. The female doctor looked up at Doctor Matthew's face.

"You see Doctor Ingrid?" The man pointed out. "By giving him a hobby in between therapy and he will be able to interact with people again."

The woman could only agree by nodding as they both walked along the corridor to the next patient.

Meanwhile inside the room, Dagan was about to restart his count off the bottle caps when he gave a deep sigh and grinned to himself.

"Don't worry Slam." He giggled. "I haven't forgotten about you. Once I get out of this nice mad house, I shall set things right with you. I'll make a promise to that. We'll be together again at last."

______________________________________________________

"Duck! You cheated!" Rev cried as he finally managed to grab the game controller off the mallard's hand while the screen on the television flashed the game results.

"Aw come on Rev!" Duck whined. "You're always beating me into a pulp! Why can't you let me win a game for once!?"

"You just have to try hard!" Rev frowned. "Not cheat!"

As the two birds continued arguing, Lexi, Ace and Tech watched, exhaling a moan.

"Here they go again." Ace groused in a bored tone.

"Everytime they go on that game, they always seem to argue." Tech yawned as he fiddled with a screwdriver into a gadget he was tweeking.

Suddenly they heard a door close loudly. Ace, Lexi and Tech swiveled their heads to find Slam without his uniform on, but wearing a sandy, brown mackintosh with khaki trousers and brown shoes. The others stared at him.

"Hey Slam. You're going out or something?" Ace commented to the Tasmanian devil.

Slam looked up to see his friends wondering about his appearance. He gave a sigh in response.

"I'm just going out for a bit." He answered as he walked past the others.

"So where are you going?" Lexi asked sicerely.

Slam stopped and turned his head around to face the rabbit.

"I'm just going to visit someone."

And with that, he left the HQ by the lift, leaving the other Loonatics at the table glancing at each other. Rev and Duck finally approached them from the television and hung around the table.

"Was that Slam that just went out?" Rev inquired. "He looked really sad like it was something he didn't want to do but had to do anyway."

"Is he getting the groceries or something?" Duck added.

"He just said he was going to visit someone." Lexi answered. "I think we know who we meant by that."

Ace nodded solemnly as everyone else gazed at each other in an unsettling atmosphere.

Cassidy Coyote: Sorry. While I was working on the other stories, I had a lot of trouble figuring out what would happen in Dagan's past. And I'm his creator!

Techfan: Thanks. Dagan's my little baby you know. Sometimes I feel so bad making him so crazy and sending him to a mental asylum. But still. That's the way the cookie crumbles.

Siamese: I hope it would be a good follow up from "The Room of The Dark". I had a lot of trouble figuring out what happened in Dagan's past.

Thanks for the comments. I'll post the next chapter up very soon aww.gif

Chapter 2

It had been three hours since Slam left the HQ. Tech observed the city landscape from the window while Duck just watched Rev playing the air hockey game against himself. The roadrunner zipped around the table knocking the black puck to the other side. On the other side of the living room, Ace and Lexi played billards. As Ace eyed the cue ball to take his shot, Lexi chalked her cue.

"Slam's been gone for a long time." She noticed. "I wonder if he's okay."

"I'm sure he's just on his way back now." Ace struck the cue ball and potted a orange striped ball into the pocket. "And if that dingo gives him any trouble, he'll know what to do."

"I suppose..." Lexi mumbled until they all heard elevators hiss open.

Everyone else turned around to see Slam amble into the HQ. They saw disappointment written on the Tasmanian devil's face, which could only mean something bad has happened.

"Slam? Are you okay?" Ace questioned him. "Did something go wrong?"

The devil shook his head.

"It's not that." He answered. "But something bad is going to happen soon."

"What are you talking about?" Duck frowned. "That dingo is locked away in that asylum so he can't get to you in anyway."

"That's the thing." Slam inferred. "In a few weeks time, he won't be locked up in the asylum anymore."

"Why?" Rev applied. "What's going on?"

"The doctor said that Dagan's recovery has progressed really well." Slam told the group. "And if his behaviour keeps going on positively, he could be out within the next few weeks or so."

"But that could be a good thing, right?" Lexi said in an unsure tone. "Him finally being able to interact and start over with people?"

Slam gave a small huff.

"When I spoke to Dagan, he said that once he gets out of the asylum, he wants to set things right with people, including us. And me."

Everyone gave some unknowing glances at each other.

"But the thing is," Slam continued. "Is that there's part of me that is frightened of what might happen when he steps foot outside the hospital. I don't know whether he is completely cured or not. And if he's not... I just hope he doesn't plan on hurting people like he did the last time."

"Well maybe it won't be like the last time." Tech interrupted. "Maybe he could be completely cured and would just lead a normal life like everyone else."

Slam gave a sincere stare at Tech.

"For once Tech, I hope you're absolutely right."

And with that, Slam was about to go into his room when he suddenly remembered something.

"Oh. Almost forgot." He said gravely. "I know you are going to completely object to this. In fact you might even say no to it straight away. But I just didn't want to do anything without asking you first."

"Well whatever it is Slam, we're listening." Ace assured him.

The Tasmanian devil took a deep breath and prepared for the worst.

"As Dagan's nearest alive relative, I have been assigned to accomodate him into a living space." He implored. "And I was just wondering, as much as we all hate it, if he could stay around here until he feels as though he could find another place to live?"

All the Loonatics gasped in suprise to what Slam was requesting.

"I'm not sure you remember back three months ago, but don't you remember what he had done to us and you for that matter!? He turned you into a nut case!" Duck alarmed him.

"Are you sure you're willing to accept him here, after everything he's done to us and you?" Ace asked him.

"That's why I'm asking you." Slam proposed. "I don't want to force you into anything you feel might not be good for the team. They can see if they can try to find a more suitable person to take care of him. But unfortunately for now, I'm the only thing he's got so far."

All the Loonatics felt bewildered and dumbfounded about the situation and the descision they would have to make.
______________________________________________________

Three weeks later...

Dagan pulled his black, sleeveless T-shirt over his head and pulled the bottom of it down to keep it straight. Next he hooped a necklace with a grey feather at the end over his head and around his neck. He stared at the feather in a trance like state until he looked up to a mirror in front of him. When he gazed at his reflection, inside he felt a little strange actually looking at himself. He could remember many times when he would never dream of looking at his reflection in any mirrors at all. His eyes fluttered back down to the grey feather his still held in his hand. He suddenly jolted when he heard a squeak of the door open. He spun around to find Doctor Ingrid standing in the doorway.

"Are you ready to go yet?" She asked him.

Dagan blinked for a moment before giving his answer to her.

"Nearly."

"Aliright." The woman nodded. "We'll escort you from the premises once you're ready."

The dingo looked back at the mirror with an unsure face looking back at him. He carried his black rucksack on his back and took a step forward still making eye contact with the mirror. He reluctantly broke away from staring at the mirror as he was assisted by the doctor to exit out of the plain white room.

Once he was led to the exit, he saw Doctor Matthew grinning at him. As the dingo approached the man, the doctor shook hands with him.

"Well I must say Dagan, you've become one of the many success stories of this asylum." He said. "You must feel very happy to be finally going out into the big wide world."

Dagan's dazed experession still carried on since leaving the room.

"It's strange." He murmured. "To think that when I came here, I was so angry and enraged. But since being here, I realised how dirty and how terrible I felt about myself. But now, I feel so strange."

"It's strange at first to go into something new Dagan." Matthews explained. "But once you settle down and get into a routine, you should be alright."

Matthews then pointed at the door to Dagan.

"And now, your new life awaits for you."

Dagan took some slow steps towards the door and opened it. He pulled the rucksack to his back as he walked down the stairs and departed from the mental asylum. As he came down on the last step, he saw a yellow taxi with a Tasmanian devil standing outside it. Dagan's face lit up as he embraced the devil with a hug.

"Slam!" He exclaimed. "It's so good to see you again!"

The figure named Slam, had no choice but to embrace him back. He wrapped his arms around Dagan's waist.

"It's good to see you again too." He said.

They both got inside the taxi and the car drove away from the asylum. Into the journey, the two became aquainted with each other once more.

"We have so much to catch up on yet so little time." The dingo said in excitement. "I'm so excited to finally try and get to know you properly along with you friends too. I hope I can be a better person than I was before."

Slam pushed up a smile.

"I hope so too." He replied.

Techfan: He had several mental issues in "Room of the Dark" including:

  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (If you've read "Room of the Dark", take note of the surgical spirit, the constant washing, and the statement he says to Slam towards the end of the story.)
  • Also towards the end of the story, Dagan cries out for Slam to come back to him when he leaves him. Maybe he just wants some form of attention. This will be explained in this story.
  • He was sadistic yes when he tried to blackmail everyone.
  • Schizophrenia? Dagan acted really nice and polite in front of Lexi when he first met Slam and her. But in the middle and end, he became the raving delinquent that he was.
  • Depression. Don't know what kind. But he was depressed.

Overall, the biggest thing that made Dagan become the way he was then was not because of Slam initially. But in the "The Room of The Dark", he believed that whatever he was doing to everyone was an act of duty to protect everyone from Slam, no matter how violent he got. Lets just say he did it from a very young age which will be revealed in "Painting the Room of the Dark".

Siamese: Yep. You're right. Towards the end, Dagan was about to kill Lexi by shoving her into the electric generator. But Slam found the courage to save her life, only to accidently push Dagan into the electric generator. But since Dagan had the ability to control electricity from the meteor, he went completely insane instead of being killed thanks to the combination of the mental disorders he already had (see the bullet points to my response to Techfan).

Thanks everyone. I'll put up the next chapter soon!

Well you cant fully blame a mentally ill person for doing ''evil'' things, because its unlikely they're judgement and reasoning are intact. Especially with things like shizophreania.

Thats why criminals who test positive for severe mental illnesses can be found non-guilty and just get sent to a mental hospital.

Chapter 3

Suddenly the taxi stopped at the tall building.

"We're here." Slam indicated to Dagan as they both stepped out of the vehicle.

The dingo gaped at the size of the building like a child.

"Wow. You really live here?"

"Only on the top floor." The Tasmanian devil replied as he dragged Dagan's large navy blue bag from the boot of the car.

Dagan was only prompted to carry the luggage when the taxi left them. He still could not help but feel overwhelmed at the sight that he laid his eyes on. The building was so big to him.

"Come on." Slam said to the dingo as they both entered inside the tower.

Once inside, Slam pressed a button to call for an elevator. As soon as Dagan saw him doing this, he froze still. He then spotted a flight of stairs and turned to Slam.

"Why don't we just take the stairs?" The dingo proposed.

"Why?" The Tasmanian devil raised an eyebrow. "It's quicker if we use the elevator."

"But I- I mean, it would do us a lot of good if we go up them." Dagan insisted. "It would get us both fitter."

Slam just raised a smile.

"Alright. We'll take the stairs." He said as he approached them. "But you're carrying your stuff all the way up."

"Of course." Dagan laughed as he grabbed the handles of his luggage and started to haul it up the stairs.
___________________________________________________________

Meanwhile, the rest of the Loonatics waited by sitting in the living room, on the sofas, feeling slightly out of breath.

"So the dusting's been done?" Ace inquired.

"Done." Lexi responded.

"The hoovering?" Ace asked again.

"Check." Tech answered.

"Tidying?"

"Yep."

"And the spare room is ready?"

"Double check."

Ace looked across to his comrades and immediately noticed a scowl on Lexi's face.

"Look Lex, I know he's not your most favourite person in the whole world. But we got to make an effort for Slam." He told her.

"Well I can't help it." Lexi folded her arms. "Considering the fact that Dagan completely brainwashed one of us to go and live in that ruined hut with him and almost killed all of us with his crazy antics, no wonder he ended up in that asylum."

"Look. I feel just as uncomfortable as you are." Ace stated. "But maybe if we gave him a chance, he could do something good for the community."

"Oh yeah." Lexi said sarcastically. "And what happened last time when you trusted that Deuce guy with your sword?"

Just as Ace tried to think of a come back, the doors hissed open. They all got up on their feet as Slam and Dagan entered the HQ. The dingo gasped at the scenery that surrounded him.

"Wow." He said as he started exploring in the living room. "This place is so... so amazing."

As Dagan spun around, he found the other Loonatics approaching him. Ace stepped forward and offered him his hand to shake.

"Dagan. Welcome to our place." He greeted him.

The dingo grabbed the rabbit's hand and shook it vigorously.

"You must be Ace, am I right?" Dagan asked.

"Yeah." He replied back.

"Wow." The dingo exclaimed. "It is such an honour to meet you, the leader of the Loonatics. Someone as humble as me wouldn't have even dreamt of meeting such an inspiring person like you."

"And we are glad to invite you into our HQ." Ace replied back as he looked down at his hand, that was still being shaken by the dingo.

He looked back up him.

"Dagan. You can let go now."

Once Dagan saw how long he had shook the rabbit's hand, he withdrew it back to himself and nervously giggled. Lexi secretly rolled her eyes unimpressed.

"How dumb." She thought to herself. "From the moment he stepped into here, he's already treated like royalty."

"How about we give you a hand with that bag and show you to your room?" Rev suggested.

"No. It's alright." Dagan smiled as he followed the roadrunner down the hallway to find his room.

Meanwhile, Lexi still frowned until she was approached by Ace.

"Lexi. Just please make an effort and go along with it?" He asked her. "You don't even have to talk to him if you don't want to. But if he does say anything to you, just be nice to him about it."

Lexi turned her head away from him.

"I'll do my best." She grumbled.

Ace just gave a huff and walked away from her. Just as she was about to turn and walk somewhere, Duck approached her.

"You really don't like this Dagan guy don't you?" He said.

"How can Ace act so casual about this!?" She said angrily but quiet enough not to grab anyone's attention. "He's such a gullible idiot! He'd believe anything anyone says to him!"

"And you noticed this now?" Duck siad sarcastically.

"And after everything that dingo did to us! What he even did to Slam! I can never forgive him for that!" Lexi snapped. "Yet, he's allowed to waltz into the HQ and call it home! Why did we all have to agree with this!?"

"I don't know." Duck murmured. "But for now, we should just play it cool and do as 'the leader' says. Sooner or later, when Dagan's independant enough to go out into the big, wide world, everything will be as it was as though nothing happened."

"Oh yeah." Lexi huffed. "And how long will that be until that happens?"

She stormed past Duck and marched towards her room. Duck could only shrug his shoulders.

"And I thought I had a bad temper." He thought to himself. "Must be that time of month again."

And with that, he decided to retreat to his room as well.

Cassidy Coyote, Techfan and Siamese: I don't know what made me write that. I just assumed that Duck would say something like that. Anyways, that little part may be the only laugh you might get in this story. I'll try and make it the serious story I intended it to be. And Techfan, go read "The Room of the Dark". I'm  not trying to force you to do it. I'm only telling you this so you don't have to be nagged to do it again.

Anyways, thanks for the comments guys. I shall put up the next chapter as soon as possible wink.gif

Chapter 4

Lexi stared odourlessly up at the ceiling from her hammock. She still felt angry about Dagan staying in the HQ and living in there with them. She was furious at the fact that after Dagan had put them through so much grief, they welcomed him back as though he was a good friend that had come back from a vacation.

She could still remember the arguements that were posed in the discussion three weeks ago. Obviously, she was completely opposed to the thought of having the dingo around their place. But as the discussion grew, there were more points to show how having Dagan with them could have a positive effect on him and forgot about what he did to harm them. Lexi knew that no matter how much she tried to defend her point, she was going to lose.

Lexi groaned as she sat up on her hammock. She looked down onto her hands and sighed. No matter how much time she spends near Dagan, controling her anger would prove an eventual losing battle. Especially when she has to control it in front of Ace. No matter how much she's near Dagan, she would have to act polite in front of him and the others just to make everyone happy. All that thinking made her want to take her anger out on a punch bag in the training room. Lexi got out of the hammock and left her room.

She walked down the hallway trying to cover up the fact that she was still angry about the dingo's arrival. She then stopped at the room that Dagan was shown he'd stay in. The rabbit decided she couldn't help but to take a peek into the room just to see if he was in there. Her head curved around the door just to see inside the plain room. Her face screwed up. There the dingo was, unpacking his things alone on the bed. The digust returned to Lexi as she watched him taking his clothes out of his bag. The dingo then looked up and caught sight of her face just hanging near the door.

"Who's there?" He asked.

"Darn!" Lexi shot in her head. "He saw me!"

Feeling like she had no choice, she pushed open the door and entered in his new room.

"Sorry." She said. "I was just checking to see if you're alright and whether you needed any help at all."

"Oh. Well that's okay." Dagan assured her. "I'm almost finished unpacking anyway."

"Well that's okay then." Lexi smiled as she turned round to quickly bolt out of the door.

"Please stay." He then asked. "I just want someone to talk to."

Lexi exhaled in frustration. Never did she expect herself to spend anymore time with Dagan than she wanted to. The rabbit turned around with a neutral face and shuffled her feet back to the bed where he sat. She sat herself down next to the dingo.

"So what did you want to talk about?" Lexi inquired.

"Well..." The dingo started. "All this. It feels so strange and scary for me. You know? Being the new person here like you're the new kid at school or something."

"Well yeah, it does seem big and scary at first." Lexi stated. "But after some time, you get used to it. I remember the first time I joined the team here. I was probably the most nervous wreck of the lot."

"But they must have been nervous as well." Dagan added.

"But the thing is, I was scared that since I was the only girl here, I thought that they were going to reject me straight away. Even when I had powers just like them." Lexi explained.

"Why did you think they were going to reject you?" Dagan questioned her. "They seem really kind to you when I got here."

Lexi hesitated with her answer.

"Lets just say that the people I went with at my school used to judge people before they got to know them before I came here." She said in an unsettled tone.

Dagan's face softened.

"Sorry. I didn't realise you had such a hard life before the meteor came down here and gave you and your friends the super powers." He said gravely. "You always seemed so tough when I first saw you on TV."

"Well the media doesn't always capture every side to people." The rabbit murmured.

Silence then filled the gap from the dialogue until Dagan looked around the room they were both in.

"This room." He started. "Even though I've never been here in my life before, I still get some strong memories just by looking at it."

"What sort of memories?" Lexi perked up, forgetting about her annoyance with him.

"Some that I wished I could go back to," He said. "And others I'd rather forget."

Lexi didn't give a response in case she'd accidently upset him. She could see from his face that he didn't want to talk about it. Whether he was remembering one of his bad memories or not she couldn't say. She decided to try and snap him out of his trance like state with some form of encouragement.

"Well I guess that makes us have something in common." She replied.

"But it's all in the past." Dagan continued. "What's done is done, and I want to move on from it. I don't want to wallow in despair. I want to do something right for a change. Something that would make everyone happy."

Lexi just blinked at him.

"Well if you're going to try and do something good, just bee yourself about it." She advised him. "Don't go too overboard with lending a hand."

Dagan giggled.

"I know. That's why I'm going to ask Ace whether I can join you guys on missions. You know? Using my electric powers to help save people's lives in the community."

The rabbit's eyes widened. Not in an aghast expression, but she never expected him to ask something like that.

"Well I don't know." Lexi mumbled. "Maybe if you asked him really nicely, you could wear the uniform with us."

"Maybe if I asked him later on, you think he'll say yes?" Dagan said.

"Maybe." Lexi responded. "You'll never know until you try."

The dingo got up from the bed and gazed down at the rabbit.

"Thanks Lexi." He said gratefully. "For some reason, I knew you'd understand. I know we got off on the wrong foot and all. But I hope that once we know each other really well, we could become great friends."

Lexi nervously smiled.

"Yeah. Hopefully."

Dagan flashed a broad grin back at her and exited out of the room, leaving her to figure out what just happened.

"It's scary." She thought to herself. "He's changed so much since the last time we saw him. Maybe he really is cured and won't try to pull off anymore crazy stunts like trying to kill everyone or something like that."

She then got up from the bed and also left the room.

As she shut the door from the outside, she still thought about Dagan's personality change. She felt like he's changed from a crazy maniac into a more civilised person. She turned her back to the door when she saw Slam standing right behind her. She gave a gasp and held her chest as though she just had a heart attack.

"Slam! You scared me." She stuttered.

"What were you doing in Dagan's room?" The Tasmanian devil asked her suspisciously.

"Um... I was just helping him unpack some things but he went out to do something else." She stammered.

Slam stared at her which made her wonder whether he believed her story or not. He finally gave a sigh and looked at her face.

"Well... thanks I suppose." He said.

"Thanks?" Lexi said in confusion.

"For some reason, we're all afraid to do or say anything that could make him feel unstable again." Slam told her. "And considering you were against the whole idea of him staying round here, you still decided to make as much effort as the rest of us have been putting in. So I just want to say thank you for giving Dagan this chance. It means a lot to me as well as him."

Lexi's face was still fixed in suprise.

"It's not problem I guess." She said.

Slam nodded.

"I just hope all the effort we're putting in will be able to get Dagan to start over to something new and more positive than he did in the past."

The Tasmanian devil strode past Lexi as he reached his own bedroom door.

"I know you might find this hard, but please keep looking after him." He finally requested as he entered into his own room.

Once the door clicked shut, Lexi gave a huge sigh of relief. But as she did so, she began to feel a little guilt from what she thought of him in the past. And once she thought over of the two conversations she had between Dagan and Slam, she decided maybe Ace was right.

"Maybe I should put some effort into it." She thought as she left Dagan's door and strolled down the hallway towards the living room.

This is a very, very interesting read. The character development and the inner conflict Lexi feels are definitely intriguing. I'd also say you have the characters spot on. Slam being just articulate is an interesting twist, of course, but I would say he definitive has his own personality - kind of passive, a gentle giant. Yeah.

In conclusion this is great stuff. Keep it up!

Techfan: Unfortunately for him, yes. But how, you'll just have to find out in the next few chapters.

Siamese: aww.gif Thanks.

Dragon Wing: aww.gif Thanks.

With the part when she talks to Dagan about rejection, I think the reason maybe because obviously nearly everyone in this messageboard feels that Lexi's scared of rejection from people because of what happened before the meteor came down in the episode "Comet Cometh". Since then, we've started to think about her clingyness to Ace and maybe some of the other Loonatics as well throughout the episodes. The fact that she clings onto them so much, she doesn't want them to reject her like that mean old cheerleader did at the auditions.

Obviously I made Dagan's new personality to be that he wants to be useful to the team because of his regret of violent actions in "Room of the Dark". And if his offers are rejected or just ignored, who knows how he's gonna feel. I think I made that little intimate scene where Lexi and Dagan could have something in common because of rejection. But I don't want to give away too much at this time.

And Slam being articulate about the whole Dagan situation maybe that he's worried that Dagan may turn into the psycho that he was in "Room of the Dark". We all know from Slam's personality that he is loyal to the Loonatics and would do anything for them. So when Dagan is added to the equation, he fears that if he goes evil again, he may harm his friends like he did in the first story. And he does not want history to repeat itself. I think he's worried about both the Loonatics safety with the dingo who could turn back to his evil ways at any moment, and Dagan turning mad again. Lets just say it's like a time bomb with Dagan around.

Thanks for the comments aww.gif . I'll put up the next chapter as soon as possible.

Chapter 5

Lexi ambled into the living room when she spotted Dagan and Ace having a conversation with each other. This time instead of getting flustered that Dagan was trying to suck up to the leader, she started to feel concerned about what they were saying. She didn't want to interrupt them incase Ace thought she was going to have a go at both of them. And she already had enough of him telling her off because she had such a strong opinion when it was decided the dingo was going to stay in the HQ. Finally, Dagan left Ace with a smile on his face. He caught sight of Lexi standing opposite the room. She braced herself as he approached her.

"Great." She thought. "He's gonna tell me to be nice to him on the missions. I've learnt my lesson for today. Why can't he get off my back?"

"Hey Lex." He said casually as he stopped in front of her. "I've been looking for you."

"Look. I know you're gonna say it so lets get it over with." Lexi gushed. "I know that you know that I'm not too keen on Dagan taking part in the missions. And obviously you said yes to that. But I'll try to be nice to him on the missions."

Ace just blinked.

"That wasn't what I was going to say." He stated.

"It's not?" Lexi didn't exactly expect him to say that to her.

"No." Ace shook his head. "But it is to do with Dagan coming with us for the missions though. He asked me whether he could join us when the villains are playing up. And I was just wondering whether you and everyone else are gonna be alright with this."

"Well when we first began doing missions together, we found it a little difficult working together." Lexi recounted.

"True. But considering that he already has some powers, that's a start." The male rabbit said.

"So where's Dagan gone now?" Lexi asked.

"He's in the training room." Ace told her. "I told him that it would help him get used to controlling his powers so that the situation wouldn't be as chaotic as the mission already is."

"I see." Lexi nodded. "Well, if he does come with us, as I said; I'll do my best to get along with him."

"Well that's good to hear." He smiled at her.

"Yeah." Lexi gave a breath of relief. "Sorry about earlier."

"That's okay." Ace accepted. "So you'll start off on a clean slate?"

Lexi gave a grin to him.

"Ace. I'm giving him another chance." She giggled as she walked away from him.
_______________________________________________________

Slam strolled down the hallway until he reached a pair of silver doors to the training room. As he reached them they hissed open and gave him access. Slam entered through the doors and saw Tech and Duck at the control desk. The Tasmanian devil strode up to the coyote and the mallard and stood beside them.

"What are you doing here Tech?" Slam inquired. "I though you were in your lab on one of your inventions."

"I was using the holographic simulator here until dingo boy wanted a go." Duck complained.

"Dagan?" Slam gave a little frown.

"Yeah." Tech said. "And I must say, he is pretty impressive with his powers. Even if he didn't use them for a long time."

Slam looked down onto the training area where he witnessed the dingo performing a variety of attacks. When he looked on a computer screen, he watched Dagan taking out some armoured men. He was fascinated with the moves Dagan produced.

"As much as I know him, I don't remember him taking any martial arts. The movements doesn't seem to be practiced." Slam commented. "Yet he's managing to take out all those men at once."

"Yeah." Duck agreed. "He looks as though he's practiced as much martial arts as Ace. Which is how long?"

"A very long time." Tech concluded Duck's sentence.

As the continued to watch the screen, Dagan found himself surrounded by at least fifteen khaki armoured men. The dingo seemed to look nervous.

"Uh-oh." Tech said. "Now Dagan's in trouble. We better stop it beofre-"

"Wait!" Slam interrupted. "Look!"

Both Duck and Tech looked back at the screen when Dagan picked up a near by metal bar from near his foot and struck a red fire hydrant that stood near him. The water whooshed from it and soaked some of the armoured men. That distracted them as Dagan quickly found a wooden box nearby and stood on top of it. It wasn't until he summoned a ball of electricity that Tech realised what he was doing.

"Of course!" He exclaimed. "Water is a very good conductor of electricity. So by combining the water and his electric powers, he can shock all of them in one go, whilst avoiding to get shocked himself by standing on top of the wooden box which is a poor conductor of electricity!"

And as Tech predicted, Dagan threw the electric ball at the fire hydrant. Yellow electric currents zapped across the flooded floor as the khaki men fitted from the electrocution before collapsing onto the floor. As the dingo huffed and puffed from exhaustion, Tech pressed the button that drained the holographic illusion from the training area. Dagan stood up and exited out of the area and walked up to the three Loonatics.

"So what did you think?" Dagan grinned. "Pretty intense huh?"

For a moment, all three of the Loonatics were speechless.

"Well I must say," Tech started. "You do have good spacial awareness."

"Have you been learning some moves from Ace?" Duck frowned. "Cos you must be an expert already at least."

"Nah." Dagan said. "Must be natural instinct."

Suddenly from no where, the alarm blared out loudly. They all froze for a moment.

"What's that?" Dagan asked. "What's going on?"

"Zadavia's calling," Tech affirmed. "Which means we have trouble."

Tech and Duck rushed through the door to go to the meeting room. There was a bit of hesitation between the dingo and the Tasmanian devil at first until Slam sighed.

"You may as well come." He told him. "It's not right just to leave you out like this."

And with that, both of them exited out of the training room.

Well it'll be interesting to see what he'll do on the mission.

Oh I wanted to know Akira, did Dagan do what he did to slam because he actuelly beleived Slam was a horrible monster, or because he was a power hungry pyscho that wanted to manipulate Slam?

I can't say cos that's the question that's gonna be answered in this story. But all I'm gonna say is you're half right about believing Slam is a monster.

Chapter 6

In the meeting room, only five of the Loonatics sat in their seats with the hologram of Zadavia in the centere of the table. But just as she was going to open her mouth, Slam burst through the doors along with Dagan. Zadavia gave a stare at the Tasmanian devil.

"Sorry we're late." Slam huffed as he clambered onto his seat.

Zadavia seemed to accept the apology and then gazed at Dagan.

"I seem to be more interested in your friend." She said.

"Don't worry." Ace assured her. "He's with us."

The dingo froze on the spot as the woman gave him a stare. He slowly took a step back and sprinted out of the room. Everyone else just glanced at each other, puzzled about his behaviour.

"He seems to be very shy." Zadavia commented.

"I'm sure he'll be fine." Slam said although the way he said it didn't sound that convincing.

"But still, there is a problem at hand." The woman alerted them as she showed them an image of a man with a menacing looking silver claw attached to his right arm. "This man or should I say cyborg calls himself 'Scar'. And he's been causing a lot of destruction around the city. His intentions are unknown, but you need to catch him before he causes anymore damage to the city. Zadavia out."

As she disappeared, Ace stood up from his chair.

"Looks like he's obviously up to something." He proclaimed to the other Loonatics. "We better grab him before he gives anyone any of his scars that will never heal. Lets jet!"

Meanwhile, outside the meeting room, Dagan sat on a couch with his arms wrapped around himself. He held himself tight as he tried to calm himself down from that moment of fright.

"That woman..." He murmured. "She looks almost like -"

"Dagan?"

The dingo turned around to find the Loonatics behind him. He could see that they looked a little concerned for him.

"Dagan. Are you okay?" Slam asked him.

The dingo hesitated to answer as he recollected himself again.

"I'm fine." He told them. "I just wasn't ready for the hologram. She looked really frightening at first glance."

"Don't worry Dagan." Lexi smiled at him. "She's nice really. Zadavia is the once who briefs us on our missions."

"Missions?" Dagan repeated. "Then can I come?"

"I don't know Dagan." Ace warned him. "This criminal we're dealing with is no ordinary pickpocket. We don't you to risk getting hurt."

"No! I can help you!" The dingo insisted. "I can help you catch him! Please just give me a chance!"

The male rabbit frowned at him until he came to a decision.

"Alright. But first we better get you a uniform."

"A uniform?" Dagan said. "Like yours?"

"Yeah." Ace nodded. "Do you mind if you wore blue? All the other colours have been taken."

"Yes!" Dagan said enthusiactically. "I don't care about the colour! That would be great!"

"Okay." Lexi set off. "I'll go get it."

As she left the room, the dingo cleched his hands in excitement.

"Finally!" He thought to himself. "I'm finally going to make up for my regrets!"
__________________________________________________________

The town's folk screamed in terror as a car hurtled towards them. They all managed to run out of it's way as the giat machine smashed against a building. Meanwhile, a half man, half machine floated above the chaos, cackling madly.

"No-one can stop me!" He declared. "I shall make you all pay for the way you have treated me as though I am dirt!"

With that, he grabbed a white van with his piercing claw and threw it against another building, smashing everything it hit. Just as the man grinned in satisfaction, he heard whooshing noises from around him. He spun around on the spot to see the Loonatics surrounding him.

"Loonatics! Attack!" Ace commanded as everyone used their powers to try and take Scar down.

He wasn't going to have any of it and deflected their attacks with his metal claw.

"You fools!" He shouted. "Nothing can penatrate me! Not with my claw in the way!"

As he swung his arm with the metallic jaws ready to snap shut. The Loonatics decided to land on the ground while trying to think up another plan. Ace turned to Rev.

"Rev! Do you think you can distract Scar down onto the ground?" He requested.

"Sure thing!" The roadrunner saluted as he launched himself into the air and approached next to Scar, who was already armed with another car.

"Hey Jaws! Try to catch me!" Rev taunted him as he dodged a flying car that Scar threw.

The man then flew after the bird. But with his super speed, Rev was making getting away from him easy. He then lured Scar down onto the ground where the rest of the Loonatics waited to suprise him.

"Okay Loonatics!" Ace called once more. "Fire!"

Once again, their attacks was in vain as the man delfected the powers once more.

"I told you!" Scar roared. "Nothing can damage me!"

"Oh yeah!" Dagan said defiantly. "How about this!"

The dingo charged towards the man.

"Dagan! What are you doing!?" Ace panicked. "Come back!"

But before Dagan could react, his left arm felt a sudden sharp pain.  He gave a yelp as he was taken up into the air by Scar. The man gave him an evil grin as Dagan tired to struggle from his grip.

"You mangy mutt!" He chuckled. "You think you're so clever trying to get me like that. That was practically a suicide move."

The metal jaws tightened around his victim's arm. Dagan gave another scream as he noticed blood oozing down his arm. He just seethed through his teeth and tightened his eyes shut.

"These claws are sharp enough to cut your whole arm off." The man muttered. "Lets see how you'll cope after losing an arm like I did."

"No!" Dagan shot out and he summoned an electric power from within him.

The jolt of electricity seeped into the man's mechanical arm as Scar began to panic. The next thing he knew, a few thousand volts shot through his body, making him wail a piercing scream. Once he let go of Dagan's arm, both of them crashed down onto the ground unconscious. Both of their worlds became black.
________________________________________________________

Dagan woke up with his head swirling around sickenly. As he tried to sit up, he felt a stabbing pain on his arm where Scar managed to pierce him. He looked down on it to find it all bandaged up with wadding and bandages. Once his vision came back into focus he saw Tech, Slam and Ace staring at him with relief now planted on their faces.

"Are you alright Dagan?" Slam asked.

The dingo suddenly remembered what went on. He was grabbed by scar during the battle. And then he gave him a jolt of his electric powers before hitting his head on the road that knocked him out. He then looked at the Tasmanian devil sincerely.

"I... I'm alright I think."

"Well from the height that Scar dropped you, you're lucky to be alive." Tech stated.

"But next time Dagan, don't go charging at the villain." Ace advised him. "I know you're new and the whole mission idea is exciting, but as you've just experienced, it's also very dangerous. Just wait for an order from me next time okay?"

Dagan gave a nod of the head.

"Sorry."

"Well considering you managed to catch him while our powers didn't make a scratch on him, I don't think you should apologise for that." Ace continued. "You deserved a well earnt rest. For your first mission, you're really good."

"Uh... thanks." Dagan perked up.

Ace smiled at him.

"You get some rest now." He said as he and Tech walked out of the room.

Slam gave him a relieved smile.

"Dagan, you're doing great." He said as he exited out of the room, leaving the dingo sitting up in the bed.

When the door hissed shut, Dagan quickly unwrapped his bandages and removed the wadding from his arm until he was left gazing at a set of very deep scratches. He looked at the red lines with his eyes wide open until an image of an arm with many more scratches on it than he had at the present time flashed inside his mind. Dagan blinked until he started to breathe frantically.

"No!" He cried in his mind. "It's coming back! It's coming back!"

A recollection of violent images flicked through his mind, each one as menacing as the other. Dagan held both sides of his head with his sweaty hands as he continued his panickly gasped for air.

"No no no! This can't be happening!" He exclaimed in his mind as he felt something wet at the back of his head.

He took down both of his hands where the red liquid formed on the palms of his hands. They shook as he stared at them in horror.

"No! Get away from me!" He screamed.

He threw away the blankets from the bed and rushed to his normal black leather clothes and boots that he wore once more and rushed out of the med room out of sight.

Wow.

Wow.

Dagan is beginning to remind me slightly of Cassidy and her brother, Andrew. Andrew because he's obviously been through something horrifying that's made him snap, and Cassidy because of the way he's hiding from everybody.

Continue, please! I want to know what happens next!

Techfan: Yeah. This is where he starts to go crazy again. But good guess on who Zadavia reminds him of. But it's not Slam's mom.

Siamese: Yes. That amount of insanity going on in his head must have been triggered by something traumatic he's experienced.

BlackCat: Thanks. I always feel sorry for Dagan now that I've put this chapter up. *Hugs Dagan*.

Cassidy Coyote: He does seem to be hiding something doesn't he? But what I must know and you shall find out sooner or later.

Thanks for the comments! I shall hopefully put up the next chapter very soon!

Chapter 7

Lexi laid on her stomach in the living room on the purple sofa giving a tired stare into an empty space. She kept thinking about what happened with the mission and how Dagan managed to catch the criminal first time with using the other's help. It wasn't that she felt jealous at all. She got over that stage. But her thoughts were as empty as the view she gazed at. She had never felt so bored and tired in her life. Why she didn't know. There was just this emptiness that circled inside her. Suddenly, Tech came out from the medical room and spotted Lexi on the sofa. The slam from the door made Lexi turn around much more alert than she was earlier. She could see from the coyote's face that something was wrong.

"Lexi! You haven't seen Dagan have you?" Tech said in a concerned state.

The rabbit just shook her head.

"Not since this afternoon after the mission." She replied. "He's not in the med-room?"

"No." Tech answered. "But if he has gone out, who knows what could happen to him. His arm could get more broken than it already is."

All of the sudden, the loud alarm blasted through the room. Tech and Lexi both ran towards the meeting room to see what the trouble was this time.

By the time all of the Loonatics sat in their seats, the hologram of Zadavia appeared once more in the centre of the table.

"What's up Zadavia?" Ace requested.

"There have been reports of a disturbance in a DIY warehouse." The woman reported. "There have been sightings of lights turning themselves on and off. I believe that someone is trying to grab your attention so that you would be attracted by the crime."

"But it could mean that they're trying to set a trap up for us." Tech analysed.

"So does that mean we shouldn't go?" Duck suggested.

"Even still, you should go and investigate incase it is someone who could be potentially dangerous to Acmetropolis." Zadavia advised them. "Zadavia out."

Once she disappeared, everyone got up from their seats.

"Okay Loonatics." Ace declared. "Lets Jet!"

"But Dagan has gone missing." Tech interrupted. "He wasn't in the med-room when I went to check up on him."

"Dagan's gone!?" Rev exclaimed.

Slam then turned away from the others.

"I knew this would happen." He murmured.

"What do you mean "you knew it would happen"?" Lexi gave a puzzled look to the Tasmanian devil.

It was quite obvious the rabbit heard his mumbles with her super hearing. Slam turned around to face his team mates again.

"I'm not sure, but I think it might be Dagan causing the trouble in the warehouse." He supposed.

"What makes you say that?" Ace questioned him.

"Dagan's disappeared. Then Zadavia reports something going on in the warehouse." He explained. "I don't think a criminal would commit a crime with the lights on."

"But why would he do that?" Lexi asked.

The Tasmanian devil gave a deep sigh.

"Trust me." He urged them. "I don't think he's gotten over what happened the last time we met."

Inside the empty warehouse, Dagan was controlling his psychotic giggles to himself while placing what looked like a handmade trap from a pair of hedgescissors, an extendable fold in grabber, and a crate stand with a long piece of wire that connected to a yellow generator. Once he finished it, he stepped away and looked at it proudly.

"There." He said to himself. "By the time I catch that Tasmanian devil, I'll put him in that room where he finally belongs. And everyone will be safe in the knowledge that they won't face anymore monsters trying to terrorize the city."

Just then he heard a door slam. The sound echoed up the corridor, signalling him to begin his plan.

"Now that all my traps are set, let the hunt begin!" He squeeled to himself in excitement as he lighlty touched the generator with his index finger to give it power.

The generator roared as it switched itself on. Jolts of electricity not only reached the newest trap he made, but it set off all the other traps he created around the warehouse, making them come to life as well. The dingo chuckled to himself as he watched the generator supply the electrical energy. Just then, Dagan perked up and grinned evilly to himself. He ran across the corridor away from the trap as he turned a corner. It wasn't until a few minutes later that he stopped at a door and gave himself a sick giggle. "The power room" the sign read. Dagan touched a sensitive pad next to the door and hotwired it, granting him immediate access into the room.

He entered through the door to find a row of three massive generators with different coloured blinking lights. The dingo smiled to himself as he apporoached one of the generators.

"Lets see if any of them are afraid of the dark." He muttered under his breath as he placed his hand on the machine and set some blue electrical energy circling around all of the generators. Once the machines broke down with a snap bang, the bulb that provided the light from within the room blew out. The dingo gasped for a moment until an alarm bellowed in the room.

"Warning; All lights have been deactivated. Emergency Lockdown Activated." A smooth female voice sounded as a plate of metal slid down to block Dagan's only exit.

The dingo rushed towards the door and tried banging it.

"Let me out!" He shouted in a frenzy. "Let me out! Open the door! Don't leave me in here!"

But as he tried bashing on the door to let him out, he suddenly heard another sound from amidst. He turned around only to find himself in pitch blackness to hear what the sound was. It sounded like a child crying. But this only made Dagan panick even more.

"No! I know that sound!" He stammered with sweat trickling down his face. "I know who's crying!"

As if on cue, a small child of a Tasmanian devil appeared, sitting down with their arms wrapped across their legs. The little one sobbed with tears running down their furry cheeks. It was then that Dagan realised who he was seeing in front of him.

"No! Not you!" He stuttered. "Not you Slam! Leave me alone! Stop crying!"

But the child's cries grew louder and louder in the dingo's head. Dagan collapsed down onto his knees and covered his own ears.

"Be quiet! Shut up!" He screamed. "Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! Shut up crying now!"

Dagan gave a wail as the cries started to take the dingo back to a past memory which he tried locking up for so long.

Dagan is quite an interesting character to read about; intriguing, really. I think you do a pretty good job of narrating how things are from his perspective. There's a whole 'nother atmosphere when it just involves him, rather than the other Loonatics. All the sudden, the story environment becomes somewhat darker (in spite of the mood) and very fickle and prone to change. It creates this sort of unstable feeling in the gut, which the mentally ill probably do feel. It's hard not to sympathize with him, considering. I think this mood of... unstable-ness could be accented a bit with a few more subtle details, though.

Techfan: Thanks aww.gif

Dragon Wing: Thanks for a good chapter review. I can see the points that you've made. I intended it to be a little more darker than the other stories I wrote. I'm actually really excited about doing the chapter about how Dagan came to be what he is.

Thanks for the comments aww.gif . I'll put up another chapter as soon as possible.
