Yeah, Bugs Bunny was voiced by Mel Blanc. Naming a planet (or whatever it was) after him in LU was sort of paying homage to him.
I think there were other examples of this in the show, but I forget them right now. But the really blantantly obvious example of a carry-over is the reuse of the word/suffix "Acme".
Planet Blanc for Mel Blanc, and Planet Freleng is for Friz Freleng. I already know about that ever since the episode "The Heir Up There"
