Okay, normally I'd put this in the General Movies/Tv topic, but this is more of a thought than a thing, so yeah....
So has anyone seen a similarity involving the Ice Age and Shrek movies? Besides the fact that, for now, they're all in threes. XD
For those who have never seen Shrek 1, 2, 3, or Ice Age 1, 2, 3 (It's not out when I'm writing this; May 11, 2008, but if someone after Summer of 2009 is reading this.....) and don't want any of them spoiled, do not continue reading.......
Spoiler
Shrek 1 featured a cranky, seemingly heartless ogre who rescues a lovable, annoying, slightly stupid donkey from pissed off knights. Later, the duo go on a mission together and, in the end, succeed. Meanwhile, the two become friends while the ogre gets a heart.
Ice Age 1 featured a cranky, seemingly heartless mammoth who rescues a lovable, annoying, slightly stupid sloth from pissed off "rhinos". Later, the duo (along with a saber tooth tiger; I'll get to Diego later) go on a mission together and, in the end, succeed. Meanwhile, the three become friends while the mammoth gets a heart.
Yay. Now for Part 2.
Shrek 2 continued the adventures of said ogre and donkey along with a new cat friend who is hired to kill said ogre. The relationship of said ogre and wife found in previous movie grow as said ogre meets said wife's parents. Adventures continue.
Ice Age 2 continued the adventures of said mammoth, sloth, and saber (who originally planned in the first movie to kill said mammoth). The relationship of said mammoth and newfound other mammoth begin. Adventures continue.
Shrek 3 continued adventures of said ogre, donkey, and cat. This time, said ogre was faced with parenthood with said wife while enemy discovered in previous movie becomes stronger and attempts to wipe out all fairy tale people.
Now at the time this is being typed, Ice Age 3 has not yet come out. All that we know is that dinosaurs will be involved (so much for trying to stay historically accurate, right? XD).
So here's my guess. Said mammoth and said wife will also have a baby (except there won't be three. XD Wait, can mammoths have three babies at once? DX), and dinosaurs will attempt to destroy all ice age creatures.
So yeah. If you want anymore I can list a lot more that I just found out while typing this.
But if no one's interested.... *Hulk hitchhiking theme plays in the background.*
No, Ice Age is made by 20th Century Fox. If they were both made by the same company, that that would say something about Dreamworks...... XD
Dreamwork's HQ
"We're making a new movie!" "Really? What's it about?" "It's about ice age dudes, but I can't find a good script! D8" "Just take the old Shrek script, man!" "Shweet! Do we make a character for the mammoth to love?" "No, save that for the sequel." "There's gunna be a sequel?!?!?" "THERE IS NOW!!!"
Shrek 2 was the legend out of it's trilogies! Shrek 1 was okay but Shrek 3 was just trying to get people to laugh.
Ice Age 1 was naturally funny and I liked it. Although Ice Age 2 revealed more about the characters, I thought it was the same as Shrek 3. However, I had a few laughs in the second Ice Age movie.
I never noticed those similarities before, but you do got a point... -nod-
Anyways, Shrek 2 was the only good Shrek movie, in my opinion. I got sick of Shrek 1 because my brother watched it a thousand times over. x x; Shrek 3... let's not even go into Shrek 3. >___>; Waste. Of. My. Life.
I liked Ice Age 1. Ice Age 2... not so much. It was okay, but not as good as the first. I didn't even know about an Ice Age 3 though. O: Hum. That should be... interesting. X3
Ice Age 1 was the best so far, and it's a tie between Sherk 1 and 2. They're both good in their own different ways....
Ice Age 2 was good b/c of the funny one-liners ("I believe I can fly," "And then the vicious tiger ate up all the little kids," "I'll be the daddy, Ellie will be the Mommy, and Diego will be the uncle that eats all the kids that get on my nerves," I've got pages of these, I could go on. XD), and personally the whole ElliexManny thing got me interested. I'm a sucker for romance. Shoot me.
I've got some more connections if anyone's interested to read them.
