Doggirl, no i don't fell old, but I do baby sit kids who at times have no idea what I'm talking about XD.

TechCadet, I'm a girl so I will probly allways get some kinda toy(mostly stuffys) and on the candy matter I'v never gotten that much so I get sik esaly on it. So I wont be missing it to much.

Ah, 15 is one of the better ages. Your old enough to have independence yet you still aren't burdened with having to act like an adult (for the most part). Age 16 is like this too. So you're entering your golden years now.

18, however, is a sucky age because (from my experience, anyway) that's when people do start expecting you to act and function like an adult. Bleh!

Agreed. I always looked forward to 18... but now I want to get away from this year as fast as possible. All this transitioning to the "adult world" sucks. D:

To those who are afraid of the age of 18, why? You don't want those responsibilities because you is lazy-butts?!! 8D J/k!

But in all seriousness, transitioning into this next phase is honestly amazing. I was 17 when I graduated high school, and then all within a year, turning 18, I got a great paying job (still working there now), am enjoying college greatly, and straightened my personal life to where my time is spent working on things that will aid my in my future career. On top of that, my brother moved out, so theres always more things to do around the house. I'm essentially hardcore busy seven days a week, so I'd be super lucky if I get 2 days in a month where I just get to stay home all day and rest. You'd think all this would be a nightmare, I guess these responsibilities can be a bit frightening. However, in the end of the day, you'll feel great, seriously. You'll be content, proud of what you got done and gain confidence in what you can do in the future.

So, yeah, being a kid is cool and all...but there is so much more in the feeling you get when you're independent, realizing courage you never knew you had or gained.


Why such a passionate response? Well, no offense to the younglings here, but I can't stand teenagers. I want everyone to grow up so I can have competant conversations. o_O *brick'd* Well, I still adore you guys anyway!

This is true. -nod- I look forward to what lies /beyond/ the transition phase, but I just don't like how the transition is working out... what with seemingly all the adults around me not wanting to let their "babies" go off into the real world. I just want them to kick me out already so I can get a move on with my life. xD

It's not so much that I'm afraid of being 18 per se, it's just that it's been... kind of awkward, and everything already feels redundant. Like, I'll do all of that independenty grown up stuff and just think afterwards, "well, duh, Angela. People do this kind of stuff all the time. It's not like it's a big deal or anything. You're just obligated to do these things." I guess it doesn't help that I'm self-deprecating as hell, but eh. I haven't really got any fulfillment out of it at this point.

Also I'm doing all this work and not really making any money yet (losing money, in fact), which doesn't help.

Also it's worth noting that I am pretty much lazy butts. This may be why I'm in my 2nd week of college and it's already kicking my ass.

On the other hand I got my AP Test results back today and I made straight 4's for all four tests. \o/

Well, I guess it depends... both have their perks, I guess! When one lives a /stable/ life, eighteen is great privelege-wise. You can drink in most provinces in Canada, you're legal to do all that "fun" stuff, you can get your full driver's license, you can move out if you feel like it, you can get married without consent, etc, etc. But for people like me who could care less about that stuff... I'd rather go back to being fifteen. =3
