The Show takes place in a Japanese-ish Earth-like world where there are 4 nations representing each of the 4 elements: Air, Water, Earth, and Fire. Some people in these nations have control over the element of their birthplace, but not everyone, they're called The benders (ex. Air bender). In the world there is one person called the Avatar who can control all the elements, and thier job is to keep peace and balance in the world for all the nations, each time one Avatar dies, they are reincarnated into the next element in order. (ex. Water->Earth)

The show was about this 12-year-old Air bender boy named Aang, who is the Avatar; he was frozen in a block of ice 100 years before the present day of the story (so technically he's 112 but the ice kept him young looking). He's found by this girl, who is a water bender, and her older brother and they tell him that in the past 100 years the Fire nation attacked everyone and killed off all the other Airbenders, (so he's the last one living).

So the whole show is about how Aang has to learn all the other bendings becides Air bending (b/c he didn't get to cuz he was too young) so he can restore peace to end the war, and the fire nation is looking to kill him and it isn't easy to find a bending teacher for each element, let along trust alot of people. Through the show he gains a lot of friends and they have lots of adventures , there are lots of twists....a heck of a lot of twists, and it's drama but also a hilarious comedy!

There were three seasons, I don't know how many episodes each, they're different though.

A whole season for each of the elements he had to learn, Water, Earth, and then Fire.

They just had the last 4 episodes with were made into a movie. Aang finally faced the FireLord, the guy who started the war, and he had to defeat him. It was AWESOME! But I'm a fan soooo I would think that.

it's not for everyone I guess.

Brill series. Could've done with out the Aang/Kitara thingee but aside from that I LOVED AVATAR! Bye bye Appa, you were so funny.
And I hate idol too.

Sokka was so funny the entire series. The animators could really give him a funny look on his face occasionally!
