Has anyone ever heard of shoujo manga? Well, I'm interested in writing and drawing one, a high school one to be more specific. I already have a plot idea in mind, but I need some practice in the style.
So, could anyone give me an idea for a short but sweet romance manga (preferably one that takes place in high school) I could write? Like one that would only last one or two chapters? I want to do one as a test before I go all out with my major story in mind.

So there's a girl, she just broke up with her abusive boyfriend, and she's feeling like crap. I'm not sure what the setting is, but there's couches, and it's dark (it really looks like backstage at my school). So the girl's friend comes up to her, and he tries to convince her it's for the best, but she's having a hard time believing that. The boy lists off reasons why it was for the best, and the girl agrees, but explains that she was just feeling crappy because it seemed like the ex was really the one, and it turns out he wasn't. She says that she wanted someone who cared and understood, but it seemed like guys were just generally really mean. The boy replies that there were plenty of caring guys in the world, it's just really hard to find them, because they always finish last. He gets a call and says he has to go, and tells her to feel better. The girl sits alone after he leaves, and wonders if he was talking about himself. Then she runs out the door and catches him before he leaves and you know blahblahblah FLUFF. And then they go out, etc.
...now that I've read it, the more stereotypical it seems.
oh this sounds fun! for one who reads many manga books ^^ *ahem* Ok...so, a new girl comes to the highschool, and ur main guy character has the hots for her. But she rejects him and hates him and such. One night the guy sees the girl walking through the streets at like midnight. Out of curiosity, he follows her. So she like, goes into the woods and there all these zombies. He watches beat up all the zombies and make an enormous crack in the ground and all them zombies fall in. And he ends up finding out, she's a secret agent for the devil, collecting escaped souls and finding new ones (such as taking souls away from the living). She plans to take the main guy's soul, but she can't find the strength to do it for an odd reason (aka she has a CRUSH~ XD) so him and her end up working together. And I'm sure u can figure out ur way after that! ^^
so...hows that sound? :)

Oddity, that sounds like a cute idea ^^ (and it's short enough for a chapter), sorry, x4get, it's a little too long for me to do, since I already have a plot for my major story, I'm only doing one shots as warm ups for it...But your idea is very epic (just too long, sorry..^^;)
A shoujo manga, eh? I'm not so good with fluffy crap like that, but... I can try.
Suzy Everygirl* is enjoying her day at school, when she notices an envelope sticking out from her locker. Lo and behold, the letter is from a secret admirer! GASP! Anyway, she spends the rest of her time between classes sleuthing her way around campus to find her secret admirer. She enlists the help of two girl friends, and a helpful young man named Billy Everyteen*. However, after a long school day of searching, she discovers that Billy is her secret admirer! GASP AGAIN! And thus, they have a technicolor kiss, and the manga is done.
*Real names withheld/up to Jetsir.
I dunno, it seems simple enough to only take a few pages/chapters/whatevers. Oddity's idea is quite lurvely, though.
And I do agree, the zombie killer thing that 4get mentioned sounds awesome. ^_^

I like that idea. Maybe when I find the time, I could draw the characters and see if I could draw the manga. Of course, you'll be telling me what goes on. You are the writer after all.

um...well the main character is a demon working for Satan (duh) and pretty much a highschool boy. I think we should name the characters perhaps japanese names, the girls name (if it's okay with you) Harukichi Amagawa, and the boys name Katsuhito Fugunaga (of course to be shortened to Haru chan and Katsu san and such and such) I imagine Haru chan very serious and is well behaved, smart, TOO pretty and rather cruel. Katsu san should be lazy and a troublemaker, kind and likes little kids. We'll discuss other characters later! ^^

Hey, you're the writer, you write how the story goes. I'm the artist, I interpret how I visualise the story. The names are cool, I like it.

Im reading a Manga Called Ouran High School Host Club so id Probaly suggest a ScrewBall Romantic Sweet Comedy and im starting to become a otaku like Renge Chan!!!!
