Pretty much the same. You know, she isn't a Loonatic. The team pretty much didn't know she even existed until she just sort of just popped up one day, and Duck was like, "Yeah, this is my girlfriend..."

Want a background explanation? XD

Mairi grew up in Acme Australia as the youngest of a large family. Her parents were loving and supportive and she continued living with them until she was about 22.

She managed to get into uni to study childcare at 19, but dropped out because she wasn't too cluey at exams and essays and stuff. *deep inhale* Eventually she went into a training course at a Polytechnic institute where she earned a basic certificate in childcare that led to her being hired by the council to work at different city childcare facilities. c(X

After about two years of this she went back to uni and got herself a degree before applying to be an au pair (overseas live-in nanny). She was accepted by a couple in Acmetropolis, who paid for her way over and everything.

She looked after their kids for about three years until a small misunderstanding after the meteorite led her to be fired. After that, she was pretty much stranded, seeing as most of the money she earned went to the children she looked after (their parents were neglectful and she felt inclined to make up for their lack of affection through spoiling them when need be).

She managed to acquire living accommodations and was then hired by the Acmetropolis council to work in some of their childcare facilities, which was what she ended up staying and doing for the next three years (she never managed to save up her money as she was pretty careless with it most of the time).

One day, however, a mother of one of the kids Mairi looked after came in and inquired about her quilting (Mairi often brought in her homemade quilts to the care centre to show the children, and word appeared to have gotten back to this particular mum). The woman then asked that Mairi make HER a quilt for a family friend as a birthday gift (for a small fee, of course). Mairi accepted and made the quilt as she was asked.

A few weeks later, when it was finally ready, Duck turned up to her flat in order to pick it up. Apparently the friend of the family was a friend of Duck's family. Duck had asked her to find his mum something for her birthday, as he was tied up with the whole attack on planet Blanc thing at the time.

This was how they met. :3

Normally Mairi avoided the whole 'relationship' thing because she'd seen too many friends and family members lose someone. Whenever anyone tried to hook up with her, she'd decline and that would be the end of it. But because Duck was so persistent, she eventually gave in, hoping that after a while of not giving him anything really physical, he'd get over it and move on. But he got pretty clingy pretty quick, and he sort of grew on her. *shrugs* Neither of them ever took the relationship REALLY seriously until after she met the rest of the team a few months later...

Mairi: In my world, it would be Christmas EVERYDAY with an endless amount of Christmas carols sung in all different languages and little children running about and opening presents till the stars come out and it's time for me to tuck them in whilst listening to the gentle sound of jingling bells and carolers as snowflakes fall gently to the ground. ^__^
