This is a little something I hope to expand in time, but for now, it just is. I'd really appriciate feedback so I can see where to go with this, because I'm not really sure. =D I have no plan, I'm just making it up as I type. Let's hope it works out.

"Loonatics, let's jet!" Ace's voice, normally loud enough to command the attention of his team members from any distace, was nearly drowned out by the now familiar noise of city-wide destruction. It was normal for Acmetropilis to be endangered at least once a week, usually by some schemer who wasn't clever enough to realise that razing the city you want to rule isn't a good idea. But this wasn't one of them. In fact, it was hard to tell there was anything at all, except for a shadow. A shadow with nothing visible to cast it, and given it's shape, that was probably a mercy.

The man behind it was human enough though. He stood there with a glowing blue crystal around his neck and a smug expression on his face. The shadow roiled and bubbled, creeping slowly towards the man, and his smug expression quickly changed to panic.

"What?! No, keep back! I hold the power that called you, I am your master, and I command you to...." The shadow rolled over him and he vanished with hideous scream. The crystal was still visible, at about forehead height now, as the shadow overcame it's 'master'. Now the creature was in control, and to prove it, it grew to a terrifying size, distorting into a sickening array of shapes until it found one it was comforable with, then bagan to wreak havoc at will.
Lexi's sonic blasts passed through it like water, and Taz's punches met with air. Ace's laser blasts and Duck's eggs seemed to aggravate it, though, perhaps because of the light. Ace and Duck kept plugging at it to keep it distracted, and hopefully draw it away from the people.

"Any ideas, Tech?" grunted Ace. "Dis is like drainin' a lake wid a thimble over here."

"Well, it's clearly the intensified heat and light of your laser blasts, and the flames that form when Duck makes an egg, because sunlight doesn't seem to bother it. If you're in a hurry, I could use the molucular deconstructor to make both of you it's size so you'd be more of a match for it."

"Really you're going to make them giant size that would be so sweet sweet sweet just like the video game i was playing the other day or the movie I saw last week but that might not really be a good example because most of the city got destroyed even though it was more of a...."

"Rev!" yelled Tech, his patience at breaking point. "We have a situation here. Get me my molecular... right." He accepted the device with a miffed air. He pulled up a panel and began to tinker, when a thought occured to him.

"Wait a minute. If that thing can change size and shape, it'd just have to shrink down again. At the size you two would be, it would be almost impossible to aim at it properly. Perhaps if we intensify just the concentration of the light without of the size..... But I'll need more time."

Ace growled. "Right den." He raised his voice. "Duck! It's headin' for that building. We're supposed be keepin' it busy. Annoyin' it. Dat the best you can do?"

"What?" Duck sounded insenced. "You think I can't annoy it any more? Well just watch these moves, buster. No one's more annoying than Danger Duck!"
Duck began to quack and throw so fast that the eggs seemed to be coming from all directions at once. "Hey tall, dark and ugly! Over here! No, here! Behind you. Getting pretty sluggish, aren't you. Down here, pea-brain."

Apparently, the ego of the engulfed 'master' was still fully functional. With a bestial shriek, the creature forgot everything else, and hurled itself at Duck. But it's progress was checked as a stray egg grazed the crystal gleaming in it's head. It screamed louder and sent an arm crashing down in the place Duck had been standing not a second before.

"Did you see that?" asked Duck excitedly, reappearing next to Ace.

"I saw it. Loontics, aim for the headgear. Give it all you've got! Oh no...."

A small child was standing in the middle of the street, staring up at the creature, too afraid to move as it bore down on him with a savage growl. If you're going to kill me,the growl seemed to say, At least I'll take someone with me.

Everyone rushed forward at once, but it was already too close. Then, a rock came whizzing from an entirely different direction, skittering across the crystal's surface, followed by a yell at least as savage as the growl.

"Leave him ALONE!"

The creature hardly paused at all, but that was enough for Rev to scoop up the child and place him at a safe distance. Cheated of it's prey, the beast roared and shot out a tentacle to ensnare the thrower.

"Hoy! Put me down you reject from a shodow-puppet theatre!"

The shadow took no notice, and brought it's struggling victim up to, had it any features to speak of, what would be considered it's mouth. If it had been looking, it would have noticed that there was no more struggling. "You want to play rough?" the 'victim' growled, reaching upwards. "Then there's something you should know."

Hands gasped the crystal firmly, and pulled.

"Hell hath no fury..."

The creature wailed horribly, and vanished with a mind-shattering explosion.

Well, that's chapter one, I suppose, and a rather vague introdution of an OC I have yet to develop. What do you think?
