I Could Use Some Tips On Making OCs

I've been encouraged to try to make an OC and I'v made a couple practice ones but there r so many well thought out OCs, I was hopeing I could have some tips on designing them so my latest one can be keeper.

I have a name, age, and apperence. But as for her powers, personality, and history I'm still undecided. So i could use some tips from people about ideas, or anything that could help.

Well... Most peoples mistake is making a character who 'is all powerful' and seem impossible to beat and has little or no weakness.

So giving the character a few quirks helps.

Well the meaning Original Caracter wouldn't be anything without the original. What you need to do is find pretty much every OC you can and then when you go to make yours make him or her completely different from the rest. Read some fics to make sure you aren't accidently coppying someone. Don't use the most popular animal you can think of if you're making an anthro. Thougfh I'm one to talk cuz mine's a fox! But I don't count because foxes have been my fave animals since I was 2! XD

Write down some notes about your character. Small stuff like favorite color and food and what their personality is. Then, wether your a good drawer or not, draw a few shots of your character.

Good idea. They're fun, but take away from the meaning of the site. I'm guilty for such, and regret it a lot. The most original thing is not having one. XD

do u knw if anyway has used a raccoon yet? because thats what I designed her as, but I would like to know if thats already taken since I do wanna try an animal that no one has used yet.
