Sorta. It's a crazy Sarian tradition. When a father passes away, his daughters cannot be married, unless if they were before he passes away.

Unfortunately, Cassidy's father is killed about.... a month or two before Tech asks her.

He was planning on asking her earlier, but her father's death kinda got in the way. *shifty eyes*

She freaked and told him that she couldn't marry him.... and then

Well. it'll be easier if I show you:

Cassidy's eyes suddenly widened. "Oh no..." She slowly pulled away from Tech.

"What's wrong?" Tech asked, confused.

"Oh no..... oh no. Tech, I'm an idiot! I can't believe this!!" Cassidy moaned, deeply upset.

"Tell me, what is it?" Tech questioned, still hugging her.

"I can't get married....." Tech stared at her in shock. "It's a crazy Sarian tradition that the daughters must have the father's permission to get married.... if the father dies before then..... then the daughters can't be married..." Tears were now flowing down her face. "Tech, I'm so sorry... I should have thought first!"

"No, don't feel like that......." He fished something out of his pants pocket. An envelope. He handed it to Cassidy.

Cassidy opened it curiously. On the paper inside was one word. "Yes?...... I don't understand...."

"See, Cass..... You remember that day when I said I was going to the hardware store for some supplies and came home empty-handed?" Cassidy nodded. "Well, I had really gone to visit your father....."

"That was two days before..... he passed away......"

"Yes, I had gone there to ask him if I could marry you, Cass.... Your sister gave this to me when you were with your mom..."

Cassidy inspected it, only to have her smile grow and grow. "Oh Tech.... this is his handwriting! His handwriting and the seals he puts on all his letters! Oh Tech he said yes! He said yes!!"

Tech chuckled, smiling widely. "So... what do you say?"

Cassidy paused. Not in thought, just to gaze at Tech softly before replying. "Yes.. With all of my heart... yes!"
