It's a book about a native american girl who sucks at doing Woman's jobs, like making pots and food.
But her father was killed in an ambush, her mother killed by mexicans, and then her little brother is too.
She wants to avenge her only kin-folk's death and so becomes a warrior. She is skilled at making weapons, and she surpasses many of the tests that come with proving whether one is ready to be a warrior.
After finally avenging her brother's death, she and the rest of her tribe...and the neighbouring ones are in for a shock. British settlers have come, and threaten to kill the men of the tribes, and keep the woman for their own desires.
The story is very powerful and emotional, where in parts I thought I would cry!
Has anyone else read it?
