Fanfiction is a pretty confusing place, and I'm not sure if it works the same as it does for me. But if it does, here's what you have to do to publish a story.

1. Write the story
2. Save it on some word document
3. Log in to fanfiction.net
4. Roll your mouse over "Publish"
5. Click "Document Manager (Upload)
6. On "Upload new document" name the document (I usually just type random letters because it really doesn't matter, something like fdngdip works fine)
7. Choose the file using that little button
8. On "Format," choose "story"
9. Click "submit document"
10. Scroll over "publishing" again
11. Click "new story"
12. They'll most likely ask you to click "guidelines"
12. A new page should appear with the guidelines, scroll to the bottom and click "Yes, I have read and agreed to the content guidelines."
13. The rest should (hopefully) be self-explanatory.
