The Loonatics have pretty incredible super powers. But i'm curious as to the full extent of their abilities?
As well as laser vision, does Ace possess magnifying and long distance vision too? Maybe even x-ray vision? The show's opening lists 'optical enhancement' as one of Ace's powers too.
Can Lexi 'tune in and out' of her super hearing abilities? Or does she hear low frequency as well as close-range noises all the time? And does her 'brain blasts' just blow up objects? Or does she possess some telekinetic abilities, like lifting and throwing objects about with mind power, too?
Can Slam's tornado maximizer also induce certain types of weather? Like in the Sypher ep when he and Sypher tornadoed at each other and it started raining and thundering! How strong is Slam? Can he lift up a whole building? Or does his strength end at lifting cars and other vehicles and big rocks? Does he also have super endurance or invulnerability? He was punched through several walls in the Time After Time ep by the Trolbot 9000!
I'm assuming Duck's Quantum Quack teleportation only works over short distances. But does he actually have full control over his power orb randomizers? Sometimes he doesn't seem to know what power 'eggs' he conjures up when he says things like 'Please be a tar egg!'. Can his power 'eggs' turn into practically anything when thrown then? We've seen them turn into fire balls, tar, sticky purple goo, boulders, orange and yellow yolk and orange juice (in the Weathervane ep i think).
How exactly does Rev's GPS tracking abilities work? We know it's some kind of psychic ability manifested. So does he psychically link with the intended target's mind in order to trace their whereabouts? Is his psychic GPS powerful enough to work worldwide or perhaps even across space? If it is, it could be possible for Rev not only to locate people thru' psychic linking, but also to read their thoughts if he has to establish some kind of mental connection with them? And how fast does Rev run? At the speed of sound or light? Or just as fast as a racing car? And does he tire out if he runs for too long? Or can he keep running indefinitely without needing a break?
Tech has alot of potential to be extremely powerful and indestructable with his combined electro-magnetic powers and molecular regenration, but despite this, he usually seems to rely more upon his intellect and brilliant inventions to fight crime. But i wonder whether Tech's electromagnetism is as powerful as Magneto's from X-men? Can he stop flying bullets in midair? Can he stop or change the course of a missile? Can he form electro-magnetic shields? What is the maximum amount of metal weight he can lift and bend? Does he only lift, bend and crush metal? Or can he precisely 'mold' metal into particular shapes and sizes? Could he magnetize himself onto metal surfaces and remain stuck to them (kinda like Spiderman sticking to walls)? And Tech's molecular regeneration seems to be an even more efficient and advanced healing system than Wolverine's from X-men! He regenrates from a pile of ash into perfect normal form in a matter of seconds! Which leads one to theorize that Tech could take a brutal stabbing through the heart and still rise up again a second later! Or that he could regerate lost limbs?! But does Tech's molecular regeneration make him immortal too? Would he age normally like other living things or would his body keep renewing itself against natural deterioration hence preserving his youth? Can Tech actually be killed in any fairly easy manner?
Interesting questions no? Anyone got any answers to them?

Interestig questions...Never thought about most of them, except Tech's molecular regeneration powers...

Yeah. So far we've only ever seen Tech's regenerative powers being portrayed for comedic effect in the cartoon, but there's so much more unused potential for his powers in the show.
I have something to note about Lexi: during "The Cloak of Black Velvet", her brain blast went through the glass of the ship. And I think her sonic hearing is involuntary, but her auditory amplification isn't.

Which part of the ep was that? You mean her brain blast went through some glass without actually damaging it?
And you mean she randomly picks up distant sounds with her sonic hearing which is then amplified in her ears?
I've just remebered that in the Attack of the Fuz-zs ep, Lexi moved some of the wire lines holding a bridge up, so maybe she does have some telekinetic abilities too.
amplification thats auditory, i have an idea of what it is thru learning styles for auditory but i dunno what type of amplification they're talking about...

The part was when they were stopping those rockets from shooting at the zepplin and blowing Tech into pieces. I remember Lexi saying, "On the count of three—one, two, two-and-half…three!"
Oh, and Shade Skywalker—we're talking about Lexi's auditory amplification ability. Just so you know.
We think it means that any sound that Lexi hears is increased/enhanced in volume level so that even distant sounds are clear to her.
But there probably is a disadvantage to this hypersensitve hearing: any very loud sounds may hurt Lexi's ears. In the Sypher ep when Sypher had all the Loonatics' powers, Lexi shot a sonic scream at Sypher to damage his sensitive ears.
Good question BlackOracle.I'm not sure how powerful are the Loonatics but,I never knew that Rev had a GPS Tracking System. We have this thing in my family that I would assign them each a character from Loonatics Unleashed(Don't worry.I told them what kind of powers they had).I'm Rev Runner,my brother is Danger Duck,my dad is Slam Tazmanian and my mom is Lexi Bunny.I chose my own because,I didn't want to be Lexi.I wanted to have Rev Runner.Next time,I might choose some characters for my cousins. Some will be villians like,Massive,Black Velvet,Sypher,Mallory Mastermind,The Ringmaster etc.Well,I'll think about how powerful their powers are.Since today is Thursday,I get to watch Loonatics Unleashed! In my city,Loonatics Unleashed airs on,Thursdays,Fridays,Saturdays and Sundays. Some people have different schedules in different countries/cities.

That's interesting how you allocated Loonatics characters to each of your family members, is it for a game of some sort?
And yeah, i think the boundaries of each of the Loonatics' powers and abilities have yet to be fully established in the show. I would love to see an ep or some eps that somehow pushes each of the Loonatics to use their full powers' capacities, showcasing off the full extent of them and the impressive feats of power or abilities they are capable of. Surely if they truly 'unleashed' the full fury of their powers, they could do some serious damage! Like the Justice League superheroes.
I don't know if I would like to see the Loonatics become too powerful. Otherwise they'd need to bring in increasingly more powerful villains, etc. It would get hectic, weird. . .possible boring like DBZ became. I think they are fine at the levels they are now. One or two little tweaks might be nice, but not too much.
I'm still not sure how Rev's GPS works. I figure he has to memorize a bio-signature in order to track people.

His running speed is in the first opening theme.
In "The Menace of Mastermind", he takes a break after he pedals to make the sand scene, after the Loonatics defeat Mallory Mastermind, a most worthy opponent.

Good points there Omi! I'm guessing Rev's not quite as fast as The Flash then. And he can tire out if he runs for too long, thus requiring quick breathing breaks.
And Martiangirl, well i wasn't quite thinking of the Loonatics becoming majorly over-powered as in the super saiyans from DBZ, not anything like that at all. But maybe for say a season finale ep, they could go all out with their powers and do some pretty impressive things. For example, Tech could not only magnetise metal objects to himself, but he could alter metal into various shapes, or he could start ripping out metal foundations and walls in buildings, or he could be crushing robots with a few hand movements etc. Hmm, actually i'm starting to wonder now, can Tech materialise his electromagnetic energies into various constructs? Like the shield he created in the "Comet Cometh" ep? Maybe he can do some similar things to The Green Lantern?
I don't think so. Tech seems to have just magnetic powers like Magneto, so they would only affect metal. Besides, GL is unbelievably powerful, his power is only limited by his imagination. If Tech had that kind of power combined with his inventiveness and intellect, there would be no stopping him and the rest of the LU might be considered obsolete. Unless all the villains decided to deck themselves in yellow wood or something (old schoolers will get that).

Yellow wood? But yeah, i agree with you that Tech's powers are mostly limited to control of metals, tho' i'm just wondering about his electromagnetic shield in the "Comet Cometh" ep that he formed to protect himself from the meteor shower. It seemed pretty solid to me, suggesting that Tech can solidify his electromagnetic energies into particular shapes?
Wood and the color yellow were the original weaknesses of the first Green Lanterns.
Tech was able to rebel parts of the meteor probably because parts of it were composed of iron. He can probably manipulate his magnetic energy into limited shapes (nothing fancy) and just so long as he's dealing with metal alloys.

Weird. Wood a weakness of the first Green Lanterns?
And it didn't seem that Tech's shield was repelling those meteor rocks. They were actually making contact with the shield and bouncing off it. But an interesting explanation nonetheless. If what you say is true, then Tech naturally can detect even none visible metals and can manipulate small quantities of it.
Martiangirl wrote: I suddenly have this vision of Tech controling people through the iron in their blood. All he needs is a red and purple helmet and a cape.
LOL! Magne-Tech! Hmm, controlling iron in people's blood, interesting...
I found it intresting in 'The Comet Cometh' that Tech could create a shield, does that mean his magnetikensis is like a solid magnet? It might not make much sense but...
I found that weird too. The only thing I can think of is that rather than controlling magnetic fields around him (like Magneto), Tech might generate an energy field with magnetic qualities. Thus he can manipulate his energy field into simple/limited shapes ala the "GL" shield as Black Oracle mentioned earlier or control the field to manipulate metal. But in order to make him not too powerful, the energy might not be effective against any other type of element other than a shield. So he couldn't use his energy to pick up or manipulate water or wood though he could use his energy as a shield against them. Or maybe that shield was simply another one of his inventions that he built into the arm of his suit.
Rev's speed is bothering me. In the beginning or the original intro, there is a number (9983.03) that is his velocity, but they don't say in what measurement (miles, kilometers, m/s). If you assume it's miles per hour, Rev's top speed is a littler over Mach 13. In kilometers per hour, he would be as fast or faster than a rocket plane, but in m/s (meters per second) he'd be as fast as the space shuttle just before it reaches orbit. All are faster than the speed of sound, though still not even close to the speed of light (sorry Revvies). So has Rev been holding back this time? Or have we already seen just how fast he can go? Was Rev merely bragging when he said he could get to Iceland in 4 seconds, or is that truth?

Well, in the second intro for Rev's part it's like... 'Super-sonic Rev heats 'em up at the speed of light!' So he might be holding back, or WB has more plot-holes than I thought.
Good points Martiangirl. I have a feeling Tech generates energy fields with magnetic qualities rather than controlling already existant magnetic fields around him. That would best explain how he created that rather solid-looking shield in the "Comet Cometh".
And perhaps we have yet to see Rev at his top velocity, which may well be the speed of light, but perhaps the reason for that is because going that fast may be extremely draining on Rev, he'd be exhausted running that fast. So perhaps he's more comfortable running at speeds close to that of sound.
Maybe it was just artistic embellishment on the composer's part. "Speed of light" may not be literal, but rather an expression. Plus it's just easier to rhyme words with "light. Again, that number from the first intro haunts me and I think it is more indicative of Rev's maximum velocity. Especially since they list his power as "sonic speed", sonic meaning relating to sound so he's most likely faster than the speed of sound.
Of course there is always the chance that he really can move at the speed of light. There is just the problem of time displacement. The faster you move toward the speed of light, the slower time goes. At the speed of light, time stops around you, and past the speed of light, time actually moves backward. That would open up a whole realm of possibilities (or can of worms depending). Rev could literally travel foward and backward in time, and accomplish many things before the rest of the team could blink.

Really? Going faster than the speed of light will make time go backwards? You can slow down time by approaching those speeds? Never knew that. Any idea where that's been stated? Fascinating. I always thought Rev could do more amazing things with super speed! Wouldn't it be rather impressive if we could see Rev running so fast that he could affect time around him! He'd be able to extend time in critical moments and all.
I believe it's part of Einstein's theory of special relativity, because space and time are not seperate but are part of a single space-time that can be warped. It has been tested positive to a degree through equations and experiments (thought and real). For example, If you take two watches that are exactly syncronized and put one of them on a jet plane while the other stays on earth, the watch on the plane will return slightly slower by a second.
Gravity (like that of a planet or black hole) is also known to have time dilation effects. Clockes closer to the Earth run slower than those in non-gravitiy or lessser gravity areas. Makes you wonder what Massive could do if he ever applied himself beyond robbing banks.

Fascinating stuff. So if i want to gain more time, all i have to do is somehow move faster or go to a place with greater gravity forces! Hmm, Massive could have the power to slow or speed up time by manipulating gravitational fields! Yikes! Nevermind Time Skip, Rev and Massive could figure out ways to slow down time!
-is an Einstein fan- I think I just died. THAT. IS. AWESOME.
Actually, you can hear a sonic boom everytime Rev runs. A sonic boom is caused when you go faster than the speed of sound, thus breaking the sound barrier. So that number they displayed in season 1, no matter how translated, as long as it's faster than the speed of sound, we're good. Toguh I WOULD like to know what his exact velocity is... without superspeed, it's only 18 mph. XP Even fat li'l ol' me runs faster than 18 MPH. I think... if so, it's only for a short time. T.T
-squishes Rev-
Rev: O_O Why me?!
Tech: -at the same time- What about me?!
Me: -squishes Tech- I need to check me email.

I figured that one way to get rid of Tech would be to tie him securely to a really heavy object and throw him into the water. Think about it! He'd keep regenerating, but he'd just keep dying.
Or acid. Acid would be a fantastic way to get rid of Tech! 8D

Wait, Wikipedia had an easier way to explain this...
"Being a fish-like entity, Baura[the doll belonging to a Bount] travels around by "swimming" through solid objects by means of phasing through a different dimension that only he can access. To emerge, however, the exit point must be large enough to accommodate him."
Could this possibly be how Duck 'quacks'? He passes through a dimension that only he can access? And is it within this dimension that he stores his power 'eggs'??
Hmmmm... interesting stuff indeed. =3
