On the other hand…Crossfire_7 (who has a much better reputation than I for analyzing Loonatics) e-mailed me and pointed out that this could have just Duck's ego showing through. Good point…
Wow, it`s ironic you should say that, because I miss most of the moments you point out. Than again, I don`t concentrate on slash pairings (which make up about half of the hints hinted at), but even most of the straight hints elude me. I mostly notice the obvious ones and analyze them. Kind of like a weak point, you know? (shoot, that`s actually a pretty good analogy)
Also, although I`m flattered you mentioned this in the analysis section, I was actually referring to the part where he calls Lexi jealous. The part where he forgets Lexi`s name is probably just jerk-headedness. *Ace cuts rocks thrown at me by rabid Duck fans in half* Thanks, Ace.
Episodes: Attack of the Fuzzballs, Weathering Heights (respectively)
These references to Ace⁄Lexi never end, do they? Second episode and there's already a mountainful of ‘em. Does it have to be Ace? To be fair, we notice that Slam and Rev are on their little “candy run”, Tech has also been captured by the same Fuz-Z, and Duck is wrestling with Zane over the electric leash. We need to deeply investigate these moments more closely before making any assumptions…although the evidence is there…
Lexi asks Ace to save her. Duck had just quacked out, and Tech was focused on saving Rev. Slam was occupied with fighting Weathervane's tornado. It's no secret that Lexi doesn't get along with Duck, and completely improbable for the other Loonatics to save her at this moment, so perhaps this is just default…
Whenever Lexi calls to Ace for help, you ever notice he`s usually the only one who can? Boy, WB loves making these two a victim of the circumstances, huh? Who knows, it just might become a habit of Lexi`s...
Lexi: Ace! Help!
Duck: But I`m right here! Why don`t you ever ask anyone else for help?
Lexi: Ummm... Are you going to help me or not!?
Duck:
Eh-heh...anyway, that`s my critique for the day. If I find any more analyses to coment on, I`ll post them here. Also, anyone else who wishes to comment, go ahead. Heck, you can even make comments on my comments.
What, are you kidding? Everytime you update those puppies, I go through and scan every single letter. I have to say, it`s one of the better parts of your site And that`s saying something, since this site is just about everything an average LU fan could dream of. Just think, someday your gallery will be bursting with fanart, you`ll have a whole library of fan fictions and fanscripts, fans across the globe chatting on the forums...you could become a major fansite someday. I`m mortified the link was taken off Wikipedia. That was a crime against every LU fan out there.

You, sir, are the worldest biggest flatterer.
There is no way I can have a "bursting" fan art gallery if no one submits any art (thanks, by the way, to Lijik and Lyra). I think Ookami has just about forgotten I exist, and Black_Oracle's the only one with fanscripts. Which reminds me, I need to re-format her latest one...
I'm probably complaining too much. This fansite is good, I'll admit, but I know it can be better (starting with updating a certain episode guide...).
I'm sure that even though there's no link on Wikipedia, people will still visit. I'm not too worried.
A few have told me I can be quite the silver-tongued one. But beneath that silver is true gold; in other words, I mean every word I say. I`m sure that, given time, this could become a bustling fan community. I`d say you`re already more popular than WB`s homepage, as you easily have ten to twenty times the content
Hehe, I didn't realize how much fanart I've made... and that's not including them random doodles I keep making during classes! (If you want those too, holler! ;))
I think that's about it... Enjoy! Feel free to add whatever LU stuff I've got to the fanart section ^_^
And on a side note miss Cali-Bunny, I think your site is awesome! Like Crossfire, I too was in shock when your link was taken off the wikipedia site! If you ever need a hand with site updates, lemme know 'cause I'll be more than happy to help!
Crossfire, where can I find that thing you did on the wink that Tech gave Rev in Weathering Heights? The analysis section mentioned it, but I couldn't find it on tv.com
That topic is gone, sadly. I never found out why, but we were all up in arms about it. I can`t remember exactly what I wrote (multiple paragraphs can be difficult to recall for one such as I), but I was basically pointing out that Tech winked at Rev after looking at Ace and Lexi.
What happens is that in the episode "Weathering Heights", when Lexi, Rev and Tech are caught up in one of Weathervane`s tornadoes, Lexi says "Ace, Help!" and Ace fires his grappling hook, pulling her out (she says "thanks" after landing on all fours). Tech follows suit, pulling himself and Rev out next. After he does, Ace says "I was gonna save you next," to which Tech replies, not in negative fashion, "I got impatient." As he does, he looks at Rev and winks (while Ace and Lexi look at each other in the eye). I took that as one of the biggest, if subtle pairing hints in the series.
Well, there`s also a moment in A Cloak Of Black Velvet where Slam and Ace are making comments on BV being "hot" (though I fail to see what they saw).
First, Slam makes a surprisingly risque whistle (some cartoon habits never die, I guess), after which Lexi says something along the lines of "She isn`t so pretty" (while Ace has perhaps the silliest expression I`ve ever seen on him), to which he replies either "Yeah, you`re right, she`s hot," or "Nah, he`s right, she`s hot", after which Lexi nonetheless immediately says to (more like orders) Ace to "Keep your eyes in your head!" (followed by a guilty expression on Ace`s face). Cal also pointed out that she scooted a lot closer to him than was necessary (seriously, she was close enough to put an arm around Ace`s back).
One thing is for certain, that was definitely jealousy showing through right there, be it because she was "outclassed" in the looks department (although I honestly don`t see what`s so hot about Black Velvet), or because Ace apparently showed signs of attraction for another gal (perhaps a little of both). However, Lexi certainly did NOT look pleased.
Also, at the end of the episode, Ace and Lexi are playing pool together, apparently in a room separate from the others. Don`t suppose they wanted to be alone, do ya? They also walked in together at the beginning of the episode. There`s more info and commentary in the appropriate analyses section on the site (BTW, I thank Cali-Bunny for pointing out those last two moments; I actually missed `em completely. Thanks, Cal )
AAAHHH!!! Curses, I really wanted to read that part about the wink. I love little pairing analysis like that. I read about the situation from Cali-Bunny, but AUGGHH!! I wanted to read all in depth about Tech and Lexi being like siblings, and about the scene where Tech saves Rev. Tech looks so cool there.....*swoon* Okay, back on topic. DARNED! At least I own the DVD so I can play that episode on t.v.

Did you get the chance to put up my fanfiction, yet?

Of course, I might be wrong, but who knows.I recall so many hints which show that Rev and Tech have such a close relationship, and I laugh at the yaoi that fans poke at it. Don't get me wrong, Crossfire, but what I found contradictory to this slash pairing was during the episode titled "The Family Business." When Tech agreed to help Rev fix the defect of the Robo Amigo, Rev said "Thanks, Tech. If you weren't a coyote and a guy, I'd kiss you," and Tech in turn said "Then lucky for me, I'm both." Doesn't this suggest that they are both straight, and probably just close friends? (As for the winking, I assumed that it was a silent way of telling Rev that there was something going on between Ace and Lexi, because if Tech even told Rev directly in the softest manner, Lexi's super hearing could have picked up what he said, thus embarrasing her.)
By the way, your analyses on this site are very interesting to read.

Ya I agree with you two, ircy and Crossfire.
That scene in Weathering Heights was, to me, the most easy Ace/Lexi moment to catch.
And I just start laughing when I think about a Tech and Rev pairing. the 2 lines 'Thanks Tech. If you werent a coyote and a guy, id kiss you!' and 'Then lucky for me, Im both.' suggest that niether Tech or Rev have any kind of a crush towards the other, and arent really willing to get one soon. My opinon is they do have strong bond between them, even if they do bicker alot in the 2nd season. And the way Tech helps Rev in 'Family Buisness' no matter what happens to him, shows me that they are really close friends, like brothers or something along those lines.
Anyway I know some people are not going to agree with me but i'll understand.
Heh, this is super late, but I feel the need to dissect the Tech/Rev naysayers and those infamous two lines that seemingly deflate their possible relationship. Not only that, but I think this analysis needs at least one in-depth pro response in spite of all the negatives =P.
Does what Tech and Rev say to each other in that episode blatantly shoot down anything that could possibly be between them? Nah. What it says is that they're simply guys. If there's one thing you have to understand about guys who have their feelings in check, it's that we'll never immediately jump on the emotion train to romance town, especially if one's never been involved with another male before. Growing close to someone of the same gender doesn't require having a past as an incredibly flaming homosexual. Since the entire show is kid-based, every Loonatic comes off as confident of themselves because we don't get to see much as far as their personal lives are concerned; we can only speculate and draw conclusions.
I'm not a slash fan. I don't just randomly enjoy the thought of two male characters being put together, but I do see a growing friendship/relationship between Tech and Rev as entirely plausible and realistic. They seem completely normal with each other as far as two people can be. They bicker, argue, and sometimes fight, yet they still end up always around each other, helping, sharing knowledge, and even subtly touching (something as simple as a hand on your shoulder means the world to most guys =D). This balance of negative and positive is true to meaningful real life relationships.
As far as saying their personalities are incompatible, I find that bogus. As we all know, Tech is the most scrutinizing, analytical, and intelligent person there is... when it comes to machines. It's not that he's incapable of opening up to personal moments, but rather that he comes across as inexperienced in those matters. However, Rev is as carefree and fun as one can get. Not only is he the only Loonatic who can somehow manage a constant friendship with the coyote, I believe he is the perfect compliment to Tech's anti-social behavior. They have a shared view when it comes to scientific wonder, but Rev also holds the key to livening up the stubborn coyote's life.
Like I've said before, I don't believe the show has pushed them secretly over the line. I don't believe they have a mad passion going on behind the scenes. I do, however, believe they have the makings of a relationship already, and that something between them is entirely conceivable. I can honestly be happy with that.
