It's almost hard to believe that Comet Cometh aired more than a year ago. Now that it's up on Dailymotion.com, (courtesty of Martiangirl.) some of us have a chance to watch it again after a while. What did you think of this ep back when you first saw it a year ago, and what do you think of it now?

Well, now that you ask; I will tell you...

This is when I first didn't like Loonatics Unleashed. At first, I only saw little parts of the show and little parts of Comet Cometh. The parts that I saw were Lexi's story, Duck's story, Tech's story, the part where Duck is getting imploded on the moon and Tech telling Rev to get rid of one of the charges because it was set to blow up. Now that I've seen the whole episode, I understand on what is going on, I know the characters better and my opinion of the episode still stands as okay. It's not the best episode, but it was kind of funny when Tech blew up from that charge and Rev kept going on and on about how Tech saved his life and the cosmic energy. I know that this might not make sense and I know that Tech does have the power to regenerate himself, but it would have been more funnier if Tech would have exploded and then the concept of that didn't have to be switched. But it wouldn't make much sense; but the episode was still funny.

Yes, thanks for putting this ep up Martiangirl!

"Comet Cometh" was one of my fave eps of season 1. It was the ep that offered us an insight into the lives of each of the Loonatics just before the meteor collision. For that reason, this was a significant character insight ep into each of the Loonatics. We saw them as they were in the past, and could compare their former selves to the heroes they became; the meteor changed their lives not only physically, but emotionally as well. It was a well written ep i thought, with good action and the flashback scenes dipped into at intervals. The only complaint i could make for this ep is that it was constrained to less than a half hour time restriction! Thus the ep story felt a little rushed for me. There's more alot of us would have liked to see about what happened to the Loonatics right after being exposed to the meteor's radiation. But it's good they made this flashback ep, it was one of the essential must-see eps of season 1 as it gave important background knowledge on each of the Loonatics!

I have to agree with Black Oracle. It was shown as very realistic and it shows that nobody is perfect and everyone has their rough spots. But, yes; it was rushed and it could have had more deeper meaning and more time taken. Though, I think that this episode should have been the firest episode, instead of Loonatics On Ice.

I agree Rev. The prologues of their stories was a bit rushed and could have gone on a little bit longer. And the music for Lexi's dance routine I don't really like that much. If it was more energetic and upbeat like say "Roses are red" by Aqua or "Perseus" by that Hitomi someone I can't remember the name (not being mean). Other than that, the episdoe ROCKS

I think I do agree with you all. The flash backs were a little too quick. Comet Cometh was a really good episode that could have been brilliant if it were a two-parter. The whole first ep could have dealt with the trip into space and the flashbacks. (both in greater detail.) The secound one would deal with the threat with the new meteor itself and Optimatus. More time could have been devoted to the flashbacks and the pacing wouldn't have been affected badly.

I guess there's no use crying over it now. It was still a good episode. We got the first real indications that the series would acknowledge it's timeline and that it was going somewhere.

We also got a really interesting story-within-a story episode. We got flashbacks that were each every main character's memories of what happened just before the meteor. They weren't just for kicks though; they were tied in with the episode taking place during the aniversary of the meteor, and the 'Tics having to confront the same threat, only this time it's far more deadly. The formula worked well, and kept the story on pace and interesting.

Side note. Remember how in Rev's flashback, it was about 12 p.m when he got the sandwhich delivered? There are two paticular things with that scene. First, he wouldn't have been able to get paid whether he was late or not, with the meteor and all. Secound, the meteor apparently hit at approximately 12 p.m. Am I the only one who finds this weirdly fascinating?

I sort of liked the music in Lexi's story, but the first time I saw it; I remembered Lexi's routine being great. Now that I see it again, it isn't that exciting anymore.

I quite agree there Rev. I was amazed the first time but now I'm like "Anyone can do that".

And the time thing, I guess you could say that it was 11.59am and by the time it was 12.00pm, it was only a few seconds later when the meteor struck. Just a hunch. Could be wrong.

The guy who Rev delivered to mentioned it was 12:01. Rev thought it must have been 12. Either way, it was about 12 when it happened.

The guy probably just didn't admit that maybe his watch was fast because he just wanted his food and I'm thinking that before Rev became a superhero; a lot of people seemed to hate him aside from Lexi, who had cheers and applause from everybody; except one person. Slam, too; he was respected as a wrestler. It seems that before the meteor hit, everyone got treated badly; but it seems to me that Rev was walked all ove by people the most. Just a thought.

I've been thinking; when Lexi asked if they had their choice of colors in their space suits, why did they all look the same?

When Lexi asked "Do we get our choice of colors?", Tech replies "No". They were all clear colored.

Go to edit profile and make sure that the avatar width and height both say 100, then save.

I think other people have noticed this, but when they all got into their green space suits and Rev said "Come on. Let's go.", Ace said "Okay Rev baby". What do you think this means? A yaio slash relationship going on here?

Ponders...

Doubt it. It was probably just the writers playing around with Ace's stereotypical Brooklyn/Bronx way of speaking.

Yeah, that's most likely the answer.

I rewatched "Comet Cometh", and Duck's feet looked weird! In the flashback, he was wearing flipflops (that's not the weird part), so you could sort of make out his feet. But you know how Daffy's feet and legs are orange and his feet are flat and webbed. Danger Duck's legs and feet were black and it almost looked like he had toes (like Mickey Mouse toes)!

Yeesh! That can't be right! I'm gonna have to rewatch that and see for myself.

I personally thought this episode was executed very poorly, considering it's an "important" episode showing the characters back history and stuff. I mean, I know I wouldn't want to sit through a 22 minute show, watching the meteorite hit Acme City like, five times over. >__>;;

I think if they could have redone this episode, it'd have been a lot better presented by inter-cutting their current lives dealing with the second meteorite, and how they were like in their past lives, but this time, only showing the First Impact (lol evangelion.) happening ONCE, inter-cutting right when the second one was about to blow up, instead of repeatedly with each character. I got bored with the whole *character does something, fails at it, meteorite SMASHES, boom, new life* routine real quick. :/
