Don't worry, Black Oracle. I checked one new site and it called Loonatics a breakout hit. Maybe it's already being renewed now. Besides, with so many fangirls for Tech, Rev, Duck and the other Loonatics characters, I don't see why they can't renew it. The others shows must have been renewed first because they were done by the same companies and producers.
I went to comics2film.com. They said an announcement on KidsWB's next season will be announced ealy next Tuesday. Here's the site http://www.comics2film.com/
Who gives a toss for Batman!? What does he have that the Loonatics don't!?
Hm. Let's see.
1.) Batman has more experience in crimefighting.
2.) Batman exist since 68 years. Loonatics Unleashed since 2 years.
3.) Batman has a big fanbase. Loonatics Unleashed has a fanbase too but I doubt it's as big as the fanbase from Batman.
4.) Batman has five movies, a live-action TV-series, many cartoon-series, many comics, many videogames and many merchandise. Loonatics Unleashed has a cartoon-series and (hm, let me think a little ) I think that was it at the moment.

Er well. You asked.
Yeah! Well apart from that, why's he so special!?
Batman: Well, I am quite an appealing character.
Me: Oh yeah! Do you have as much sex appeal as Tech?
Batman: Of course.
Me: Do you have the innocence of Rev?
Batman: I'm a dark superhero. How can I be innocent?
Me: Are you as funny as Duck?
Batman: Well, I can make myself laugh sometimes...
Me: Do you have super strength like Slam?
Batman: Now that's not fair! I haven't been struck by a random meteor.
Me: Do you kick as much ass? Even when people look at you and think "Poor thing. He's gonna get pulverized" as much as Lexi?
Batman: No. But only because she's a girl.
Me: Do you have a really cool sword like Ace?
Batman: No but-
Me: Then what about this double barrel shotgun!? Bet you haven't got one of those!?
Batman: Eep!
Mario: Now look what you've done. You scared him away.
Me: And I was really starting to have some fun arguing with him.
Hmm, Akira you don't watch or read much about the Dark Knight really i'm guessing? Batman hardly ever laughs and he most certainly never runs scared! Just had to point that out.
I wouldn't worry guys. Slkfaox from tv.com said they are the highest ratings in their target demographics. Toonzone probably got those shows early because they were renewed early.
That's probably it. WB is never one to dump something that rakes in ratings (unless it's been on forever and the execs are getting sick of it). Now Nick on the other hand. . .
I don't think there's actually been any reports lately in regards to LU ratings, so we don't really know how well S2 is doing so far? *Sigh* I want to be an optimist like you Stella, but my pessimist side always tells me to be ready for the possibility of bad news.
I doubt WB will cancel it too soon. If they had, there would have been an announcement about it. We'll just check back at comics2film.com. Another explaination to why the other kidswb shows were renewed quick is because they are made by the same companies like DC COmics and Hanna-barbara. Besides, they once said that "The Batman" is not licensed to feature harley Quinn, yet they are gonna show her sometime this month.

StellaMagic wrote: Today is the moment of truth, guys. They are supposed to annouce the Kids WB season for 2007-2008. I'll keep you posted if I hear anything.
I was just checking on the C2F site just now actually, nothing yet. But yeah, let us know if that announcement comes out today, or tommorow...or the day after....Hopefully not that long anyway.
Anyone who finds the Kids WB announcement to the 2007-2008 season first, please copy and paste, then post what they have said about Loonatics. I can' find the news anywhere. Plus, I have been dreading it.

We might have to be patient for another few days perhaps. They only said on C2F that they 'expected' an official announcement from Kids WB on Tuesday (today), not that they were 'certain' that it would come out today. But i also am preparing for a negative possibility in the future of LU.
From what I've seen of that site, they seem to be catering really to comic book and t.v. news only. So it's understandable that they would be more interested in posting up news about comic book superhero DC properties like "The Batman" and "The Legion of Superheroes". I didn't see anything about the other shows on that site, though maybe they do mention them. I read about the renewal of "Tom and Jerry Tales" on a different site. I'm actually surprised it got renewed. I mean it's cute, but not nearly as good as I had hoped for. And it got a number of negative reviews on the internet from those who were determined to like it from the start.
Let's just keep hoping that LU gets the green light.

Don't worry. They are not gonna cancel it. I once read on a site that "Loonatics Unleashed" has been nominated for Best Sound Achieving in the daytime emmy awards. Plus, they made announcements that they plan on merchandising game and toys based on the Loonatics.

*Crosses fingers.* I hope, i wish, i pray!
Last week, WB apparently did issue a statement that said they were renewing 4 shows for the fall of 2007-2008: LoSH, the Batman, Tom and Jerry Tales and Shaggy and Scooby-Doo Get a Clue. But there's supposed to be an official confirmation expected this week for the Kids WB fall 2007 shows. I don't find it encouraging that the statement from last week didn't mention LU at all. But still, i'm not giving up hope yet until i hear the official word.

Whoo hoo! Best sound achieving Emmy Award! Whoo hoo! They're not gonna cancel it! This calls for a celebration!
Pulls on a rope and party balloons and confetti float down as a banner unfolds saying "Well done Loonatics!". I put on the "Celebration song" and start dancing.
What does best achievement in sound editing mean, anyway? And I hope Rob Paulsen gets something for doing the voice of Rev (if he got, like, three rewards for voicing an idiot mouse, he should get something for talking that fast. Assuming he actually talks that fast).
LU BETTER get renewed for a third season if WB knows what's good for them *brings out Super Coyote Warrior Sword*!!!!!! Just kidding.
How do you think they would end the show without cancelling it?
You mean like a 'series finale'. Hmm, that's a good question. *ponders*
In my experience, it's kind of a toss-up. A lot of kids shows just... stop. Others get the season finale treatment and end gracefully.
There are several degrees of wrap-up WB could do, varying from simply announcing ahead of time that the show is ending and giving the episode's writing a certain finality, to setting up a scenario where the 'tics are no longer needed, letting them move on with normal lives, or perhaps jumping into the future when they're retired or some such. IF the writers have in their heads to make any pairing(s) official, that's probably when it'll happen, as well.
Personally, I don't want anything too final, ie. the Loonatics as a team coming to an end. I'd like to come out thinking the 'tics are still having adventures, and we're just not seeing them. A huge, say, four- or five-part series finale, something really epic, but without any sense of "this is the Loonatics' final crisis EVER", would suit me quite nicely.

Well for a 'series finale' i don't think i'd want LU to just end abruptly, but have a proper 'farewell' type ending. It's like reading a good book, you want the story to have a satisfactory ending. A final 'epilogue' type ep where we get to see the Loonatics further into their personal futures seems like a nice final image of the Loonatics for the fans to depart on i think.
If LU hasn't been popular enough after this 2nd season, then i think the upcoming S2 finale may well be the last eps of our beloved LU! Coz we'll have reached the 26 eps mark by then. I really hope season 2 won't be the last of LU though, but i am rather pessimisstic now. If it was gonna be be renewed, why wasn't it announced along with the other Kids WB shows being renewed for 2007-2008? I'm feeling depressed now...
No worries; I will make sure LU lives on! And, everyone else`s stories also contribute to the Loonatics` continuing adventures. I don`t see how WB could end the series so soon, though; they`ve only gotten started on the possibilities for this franchise. Not to mention there`s always petitions; if they could bring back Kim Possible, then I`m sure we can push for a third (or possibly even fourth or fifth) LU season.
Besides, that article was in 2005. According to IMDB, Loonatics has been steday in the ratings. They probably just want to wrap it up before they make any annoucements. And they are already making plans for merchandise, like games.

-- Edited by StellaMagic at 08:32, 2007-03-28 Still, kind of interesting to hear the intial plan was for the series to end at 26 episodes. At least we know the loose ends should be tied up by the end of the season, right?
The worst that can happen is that the series jumps the shark because the creators didn't have as much time to plan (possible) the next few seasons. Whether you have a plan or not makes a big difference.

Plus, according to the imdb ratings, the highsest they got were girls under 18. The people have spoken. You can imagine how many fans Tech, Rev, and the other Loonatics have. Since they already made plans for merchandise, there is a chance that Loonatics may go on longer (at least one more season).

Don't take that to mean that they were planning to end after 26, only that WB committed to 26. Two thirteen-episode seasons is a perfect setup for the studio. It's still a relatively short commitment, so the studio doesn't lose too much if the show flops, but it's also long enough for the show to get on it's feet and find it's audience.
That's generally the way most new shows are done - the studio agrees to finance a certain number of episodes, and evaluate it for renewal toward the end of that inital run. It's not unlikely that the producers already have at least a vague idea of what LU's fate will be, and as Stella has said, merchandising plans are generally a good indicator of success and continuation.

Whether there'll be games produced and to what kind of caliber remains to be seen imo. And i haven't heard anything about any other merchandising plans yet.
They have mentioned four new shows coming to kids wb in the fall. Nothing about Loonatics yet. Have we dreaded like this for them last year? I think it will still be on though. They haven't mentioned which shows were being removed. Monster Alergy and Spider Riders might.
Good news guys! Teletoon has the summary to the S2 finale. It is called "The Fall of Blanc" and "In Search of Tweetums"
In the S2 finale:
-Optimatus, Rupes and Deuce will join forces to take over the universe. -Blanc is the capital of Wormhole Technology. -The Loonatics will gain strange allies.
Oh Come on. Tweetums wasn't that bad. Besides, it'll be cool to see which strange allies they'll have. Maybe it will be the S1 villains and S2 villains.
Whew, found the LU section on that site finally! After reading those summaries for the final 2 eps of the 2nd season, the impression i'm getting is that it's all going to end with a big universal bang! It'll probably go the way Teen Titans did when there was a big get together of all the titan heroes in the finale of the last season. I think you may be right about those "interesting and strange allies" being some of the S2 villains, most likely the LT-based ones, like Sylth Vester, Ophiuchus Sam, Electro J. Fudd, Pierre Le Pew, Gorlop, Melvin etc etc! Not sure about S1 villains tho', we shall see i guess.
Looks like most of us were right in suspecting a three-way alliance between Rupes, Optimatus and Deuce. But it sounds like Deuce will be the biggest threat in the final ep. Hmm, i smell another one-on-one fight between him and Ace again!
And I knew wormholes would be at the centre of all this!
