Yikes! So begins the Ace/Lexi and Duck/Lexi debate! I do think in this second season, Duck and Lexi have been portrayed working together alot more than in S1, but i don't feel that it's an indicator of them possibly having romantic feelings toward one another. The writers just figured it was funny putting the comical character of Duck with the strong female character of Lexi.
Tyranee wrote: True... but still... if all were human and no bunnies, Duck, coyotes, etc.... I think people will yhink different (or maybe no)...
That's very profound. I was thinking about that the other day. I believe there's an assumption (and I'm guilty of it too) that Ace and Lexi are meant to be together because they are both bunnies of the opposite sex. I hope the show's writers aren't so lazy to think that they don't have to set-up a romance because of that assumption. I would prefer for Loonatics: Unleashed (or any show) to buildup towards a romance.
I have to think about that, if the characters were all humans where would I assume that the writers were possibly going in terms of romance.
I guess I would be more inclined to look for shippiness since Lexi wouldn't be considered the only female (in terms of the anthros) since she would be human like Zadavia. There would be two women (of the same species) therefore the writers could keep one single (most likely Zadavia) to appease feminist sensibilities. That would free up Lexi to be shipped with anybody, most likely a colleague. Ace/Lexi would still be a strong contender because of Ace's alpha status. But since Danger/Lexi interact more often and have more suggestive dealings with each other, I would take Danger/Lexi far more seriously. (*sigh* I hope that makes sense. )
Crossfire wrote: Well, one thing I can say, Tyranee, besides that I still repect your views and opinion, is that you are definitely my equal on pairing grounds. I`ve more or less managed to convince most everyone here (including - I think - naysayers like Cali-Bunny and Martiangirl, unless I am mistaken) that an Ace/Lexi pairing is the most likely and most hinted-at couple in the show, but you manage to hold onto your views, and even have one or two who loyally follow those views (Lumosnight and, possibly, Super Freak), and for that, I respect you.
In our own strange way, we are sort of like leaders for our beliefs, I for Ace/Lexi and you for Duck/Lexi, both who have managed to convince others with our influence that our views hold some ground (and help others come out of the closet with those views). I tip my hat off to you (wait...do I even have a hat?) in awe of your dedication and resilience for beliefs you hold dear. That is one quality I most certainly respect, the mark of a truly free kindred soul (of course, if anyone just so happens to agree with my opinions, that`s fine too ).
Thanks...
Maybe like you, I'm someone that when love something, give all to that until I see if is true or not... until the day I see Lexi with Ace, I will be Duck/Lexi... n_n

(pleaseeeee.... Lexi/Duck together!!!!... Pleaseeee WB!!!) jajajajajajajajajajajajaja True, WB will have the final word. But what happens when, if ever, we receive that word? Chances are we`ll just make our stories "semi-alternate universes" to incorporate the pairing we want. Although, chances are even more likely that WB will never really give us confirmation one way or another, and thus drive us crazy for eternity.
On the bright side, at least we avoid the pitfall that some fan communities (such as the StH community majority) fall into by letting different opinions divide us. In the end, we all love LU, and we realize that`s what`s most important.

Is true... WB has the last word...
Divide us??? I don't think so... no how Zutarians and Kataangs has divided Avatar fans...
I think WB will never do a romance betwwen LU characters Y.Y
"Imagination is more important than knowledge." ~ Albert Einstein, according to Captain Underpants and the Preposterous Plight of the Purple Potty People
Albert Einstein really did say that. Depends on how popular pairings begin to get in cartoons. Was Teen Titans significantly more popular when they hinted Robin/Starfire or Beast Boy/Raven or Beast Boy/Terra? There may be a possibility that pairings may arise.
Duck and Lexi? That's actually likely. Heck any coupling is somewhat likeley. Love is that unpredictable creature that makes you fall in love with one person, but in the end, you wind up marrying somebody else.

Alright, another guy! Welcome to LUO, Skunk. As I`m sure you`ve figured out, males are a little...short in supply around here. No offense to any females, but it`s nice to see another guy around here for a change; there`s like, two or three others beside myself that I know of here.

Ugh! Don't get me started with Teen Titans.
Robin/Starfire & Beast Boy/Terra only happened because they were relationships from the original comicbook source material of NTT from the Wolfman/Perez era. Beast Boy/Raven despite being popular with a considerable amount of the fanbase, it meant diddly-squat to TPTB. BB/Raven remained friends to the bitter end on the show. Beast Boy/Raven [romance] only happened in the comics during the last recent run from Geoff Johns.
Anyway with LU; I won't hold my breath for any ship to happen. And, in of all likelihood, it'll probably be for the best that nothing happens.
On a different note, after re-watching A Creep in the Deep; some things I noticed: In the beginning of the episode, Danger and Lexi are hanging out together. (He doesn't pay much attention to Lexi's nausea but neither does any of the other Loonatics. )
After Danger saves the Loonatics' boat from the whirlpool; he chooses Lexi to go along with him for the mission to save Ace.
Danger was the one to encourage Lexi to utilize her aquatically altered Brain Blast when she was too timid to try again.
Yes, Ace is the first to bring up the issue of Danger and Lexi working together as a team. But Danger does mention Lexi and him being a team right when he decides to take Lexi with him to save Slam and Rev from the whale. (That was the part I was vaguely remembering. )
Danger refers to Lexi as "partner" when they go to stop the generated whirlpool.
Overall, Danger seemed very enthusiastic with the notion of working with Lexi. For me, that seems kind of unusual given that Danger is supposedly a glory hound. I would think that someone with his personality wouldn't want to share the spotlight with anybody. So I guess him wanting to work with Lexi in such a capacity does kind of put up a red flag. But who knows, TPTB probably wanted to show the power of cooperation or something. I dunno....
With the stark difference of Danger's behavior towards Lexi from A Creep in the Deep to It Came From Outer Space*[**]; I wonder if Outer Space takes place in the show's canon timeline before Deep. Because if Deep happened before Outer Space, Danger and Lexi must've had a falling out of some sorts. But then by Apocalypso**, they seem to be on reasonably good terms again.
*While Danger is somewhat callous towards Lexi; there are some moments that show he's still her friend. He did seem earnest in his (so-called) commiserative chat with Lexi. He was horrified that Lexi left because she took his (so-called) advice. (Lexi sure does highly value Danger's opinions. I'm not so sure if that's always a good thing; especially in this case. ) He made sure that he was the first person of the rescue team to greet her and he even claimed to be the one to head up the mission. **What is it with Danger trying to get his hands on Lexi's clothes? She just better keep tabs on her panties; that's all I have to say.
Super Freak wrote:**What is it with Danger trying to get his hands on Lexi's clothes? She just better keep tabs on her panties; that's all I have to say. Mah gawd. You're hilarious! *dies*
Well, my view on pairings is that we can ship and attempt to disprove prospective couples as much as we like (with as abstract and in-depth "clues/hints" as we so desire), but the truth is WB has all the power in the final (if any) decision. I still ship Ace/Lexi (especially since, as my episode preview probably indicated, I have my own plans for Duck now), but I realize that for every "hint" there is an equal and opposite "counter-hint".

Yes, that's true.
IMHO, the Loonatics are all currently in friendship mode. For me, I don't feel that Danger/Lexi moments take anything away from Ace/Lexi moments and vice-a-versa. Personally, I enjoy both friendships. There's no reason that Lexi has to be an exclusive friend to any of the guys on the team. Sure, there's the male/female dynamic but I don't believe that every interaction between a male and female has to be romantic. Right now, for the show, I'm going to enjoy the various friendships that the Loonatics have with each other. If a romance occurs with any of the characters--well then, so be it.

More because she is the only female (well... Zadavia don't count)...
I think I dream about those two together because they look good together and I want something different... not because Ace and Lexi are bunnies that they have to be together...
But well... we don't work for WB... so we can't decide... Y.Y
(but we can give ideas and wait that some of the writters read this n_n)
Well, so far the creative team hasn't shut the door on Danger/Lexi. Just cross your fingers and hope that their volatile relationship doesn't go up in flames or down the toilet in the season finale. However, if they become romantic (overtly shippy) in the finale, I'll faint.
It'll be be great if Duck and Lexi go to a new level of a more 'closer' aquaintance from their current level of friendship. Ah well, we just have to hope.....

Ace: *has a very "HUH!?" expression on his face*
Duck: Ah-HAH! I knew I was framed! Of course, I suspected it was Slam, but...
Tech (to Rev): Am I the only one who thought that she was going in an entirely different direction?
Ace: Ooooohkaaaaay...anyone else have any secrets they need to share befoie we get moving?
Black Oracle: Fantastic! That's spot-on characterization. I could envision a scenario like that happening in the finale.
Crossfire: Oh no, snakes in a can! Shame on Lexi.
I just hope (for the season finale)Danger doesn't revert to the level of jerkiness that he exhibited in It Came From Outer Space. That episode had to be the most ham-fisted plot driven episode I've seen from a series in a long time. Danger was a jerk in Cape Duck but at least it stayed at a level of comicalness. (Also, Lexi blasting Duck's posterior makes everything better. ) He was a sociopath in Outer Space.
Hypothetical question: If Danger and Lexi were to have children, what kind of children would they have? Platypuses?
I know! In 'It came from outer space' Duck behaved as if he hated everyone and he was just so cynical and sarcastic. Maybe he was experiencing a male version of PMS.
What kind of children Duck and Lexi would have, you ask? Let's use the typical cartoon formula: the girls are bunnies like their mum (and look like miniature clonse of her) and the boys are ducks like their dad. There, quite simple. This has been used for many cartoons and that makes the the mixed-species breeding more tolerable.

I did a fan story that they have a son (black bunny) and a daughter (a yellow duck with red hair)...
he is like 20 years old and she is 12 years old...
I love how they look...
In my story was like that
The oldest is D'angelos, the son of Lexi and Duck
Second are Tex y Mindos, the twins, sons of Tech and Mastermind
Third is Asia, the Daughter of Ace bunny and Zadavia
Silver, is the son of Slam and a supermodel who have the name Argent, because her hair is white
Race, is the daughter of Rev and a girl from his specie
Lumosnight wrote: I know! In 'It came from outer space' Duck behaved as if he hated everyone and he was just so cynical and sarcastic. Maybe he was experiencing a male version of PMS.
Exactly, I thought the same thing too.

That makes perfect sense.
I guess I was thinking along the lines of an episode of Quack Pack; where a female alligator fell in love with Donald Duck. It was either Donald or the Gator that envisioned they would have children that were a combination of duck and gator.
Tyranee wrote: That sound like "I want to say her that I love her but I can't" JAJAJAJAJAJAJAJA
[theory] The job of superheroes is quite dangerous. Something grave could happen to any of the Loonatics at any moment. I have a theory that Duck wants Lexi's stuff because heaven forbid if something were to happen to her, he would want some article of clothing or some object to remember her by. I speculate that Duck could have an article of clothing from his [biological] mother than he cherishes. He might even put his mother's article of clothing on (such as a scarf) just so he can reminisce about her love, her essence. Perhaps, Duck might care for Lexi more than he lets on, perhaps even to himself. Maybe having something of Lexi's (like Duck might have from his mom) makes Duck feel strong and gives him a sense of security. Duck wanting Lexi's stuff probably means that he loves* her.
[*The type of love (romantic, friendship, brotherly, etc…) is indeterminate at this time.] [/theory]
Tyranee wrote: I did a fan story that they have a son (black bunny) and a daughter (a yellow duck with red hair)...
That's an interesting story, Tyranee. Do you have it online? I'd love to read it.
But first I have to traslate it from spanish to english... and I'm not good in that (I will begin English lesons in two weeks)...
Is something that someone come from the future to destroy the Loonatics, so, the Loonatics childrens go after him (except Tex)... that because in the future his parents are fighting and they know the big impact of the Loonatics from the past see themselves from the future.
The reason that villain go to the past is because in the future the Loonatics are more powerfull, have more powers... and he doesn't know much about them...
Is funny... because after they go more in the past when the Loonatics were kids (and Duck changed Lexi diaper)... and to the future...
At the end, is D'angelos who do something that delete Loonatics memory...
The leader of the team is Asia, second is D'angelos (he used to be the leader before Asia became Leader)...
Is something like that.... And Asia never show the half of her face (she have her hair there), because when she was 7 years old it happen the black week, where almost everything stop existing, this half of her face suffer an attack (Duck save her and is that because he has a big scar on his face)... no doctor could do something for her face...
Well... I'm saying to much... I'm spoiler... let me see if I can find someone that can help to me to traslate this story...
Tyranee: Ah well ... it sounds like a great story.
I wish I had the means to do screenshots. There's a part in Cape Duck during Danger and Lexi's exchange over the flowers sent to Danger. Danger looks like he's staring at Lexi's breasts. (The position of his hands looks like he’s going for a grab even though he pulling his hand away.) It's probably due to a quirk of animation ... but the funny thing is that his eyes eventually gravitate up to her face. All the while, Lexi has an angry look on her face which makes those stills even funnier.

I have to see that chapter again and see if is true... jajajajajajajajajaja
Sorry, I grew up a Disney fan so I'm used to looking for the naughty stills in animation.
I was trying to figure out the relative heights of the characters so that's how I noticed that scene. Since he's standing right next to Lexi, it was a good comparison scene. (From that scene, he looks to be the same height as Lexi.)
