It's because we're stereotyped as the weaker sex. Guys have to be the ones to protect everyone, because most people think women can't do ****e besides clean the house and all that house-wife idiocy.
This isn't only about violence. it's about equal rights.
Guys had the right to vote, get a university education, could divorce their wife anytime they wanted to while women had to give strong proff why they wanted to divorce their husband (and in the end get all the blame), in some countries women couldn't inherit things........ the list goes on.
