Time for our heroes to unite against their enemies in chapter 7!

Chapter 7

In Acmetropolis, scrapped robot parts litter the ground outside of the Loonatics’ headquarters. Tech and Rev continue to take down Deuce’s army, backed by streams of laser fire from the weapons targeting system at headquarters. Rev skilfully weaves in and out of robots’ legs and directs their gunfire toward one another, causing them to shoot each other down. Tech deflects a few laser blasts with a dome-shaped electromagnetic force-field, then magnetises bundles of the robots together and crushingly compresses them into deformed metal masses.

“I-guess-we’re-sure-giving-Deuce-a-hard-time-eh-buddy?” Rev shouts over to Tech.

“Less talking, more fighting Rev!” Tech barks back as he swings a levitated robot into four others.

A shadow descends over Tech and Rev suddenly. They whirl round to face one of the robots standing right over them with its weapon trained on them. The two gasp in shock. Then a bright yellow blast strikes the robot and transforms it into water. Tech and Rev look behind to see Zadavia holding Tech’s atomic phase departiculator gun.

“Zadavia! I thought I told you to stay safe inside headquarters and operate the weapons system! You’re vulnerable without your powers!” Tech chastises.

“The weapons system is fine on automatic. I refuse to sit by and idly watch you and Rev fight on your own! I may be without my powers, but I am far from helpless!” Zadavia stubbornly states.

Tech sighs in defeat at her, but allows a smile of appreciation. Suddenly, a blast of cosmic light energy hits the ground in front of the three heroes, causing them to jump back. They see Deuce approaching them wielding the cosmic guitar.

“I underestimated you and the road runner.” Deuce growls to Tech. “You’ve destroyed half my robot army! But don’t think you’ve won the war just yet!”

Deuce fires a blast of the cosmic guitar’s light energy at an empty space of air and a wormhole opens up. Tech, Rev and Zadavia gasp.

“I can still transport myself and what’s left of my forces back to planet Blanc with the cosmic guitar!” Deuce announces.

The robot army begins filtering through the wormhole that Deuce has just opened up. Deuce lets out a maniacal laughter. Tech pounces on Deuce and grabs the cosmic guitar, but Deuce retains his grip on it. The two rivals wrestle for control of the instrument as unsteady energies erupt from it and surround them. Rev and Zadavia look on fearfully at Tech and Deuce, then at the wormhole next to them which seems to fluctuate in size and force as the two struggle over the cosmic guitar.

“Tech!-The-wormhole!-It’s-unstable!” Rev tries to warn Tech.

But then the struggling Tech and Deuce are sucked into the wormhole.

“We must follow them!” Zadavia commands immediately.

She jumps into the wormhole. Rev gulps, squeezes his eyes shut then leaps into the wormhole too. The wormhole closes up after him.

On Blanc, where Optimatus, Ace and the others are, a wormhole opens up. Lines of Deuce’s robot army march out, grabbing the immediate attention of Optimatus, Ace and everyone else there. Then Tech and Deuce tumble out of the wormhole. They are both still clutching onto the guitar and fighting for it. Finally, Zadavia and Rev fall out last. The wormhole closes after them. Taking advantage of the unexpected distraction, Ace fires a laser blast at his energy bands and pulls his arms free. Lexi and Duck follow suit and free themselves with their respective powers too. They then break Slam and Sylth’s bonds and Tweetums’ force-field prison as well.

Tech lets out a rumbling canine growl at Deuce and manages to force him backwards onto the ground, the cosmic guitar still between them. Then Deuce brings his knee underneath Tech’s stomach and pushes the coyote backwards off him. He gets up quickly, but then realises that he has lost the guitar in the struggle. He looks up to see that Tech has taken the guitar.

Tech’s face tenses. “Hate to do this to one of my own inventions but…”

Tech brings the cosmic guitar above his head and plunges it down hard onto the ground, smashing it completely. As the guitar fragments, its cosmic energies burst out and travel back to their original owner Zadavia. Zadavia smiles as she sees her hands radiating with cosmic light once again.

“Your powers won’t save you ‘or’ Blanc now sister!” Optimatus darkly threatens her.

Deuce’s robot army stands ready behind Optimatus. Deuce and Rupes flank him by his sides.

“Maybe not brother, but my team most certainly will!” Zadavia confidently replies.

Ace and the other Loonatics take up fighting positions on both sides of Zadavia, forming a semi-circular battle formation around the entrance to the bridge-way leading to the wormhole generator chamber.

Woot! Everyone's on Blanc now! Now it's up to the team to save the world and have a better alternative ending! This is really gripping stuff B_O!

And Tech fighting Deuce to get the guitar, awsome! Tech needs more fight scenes. Rev too, but that was a gripping Tech moment!

The final battle for Blanc begins in chapter 8!

Chapter 8

Ace draws his Guardian Strike Sword.

“Loonatics unite!” he rallies to his team. “We work together! Protect the generator core!”

“Deuce, destroy them all!” Optimatus orders.

“With pleasure!” Deuce replies evilly. “Robot army, attack!”

The robots begin charging forward toward the Loonatics. The Loonatics respond in identical fashion and charge toward the robot army, eyes ablaze and letting out battle cries. The two sides meet loudly in a frenzied clash.

Tweetums pulls out a small expanding hover disc from behind himself and takes to the air with it.

“Egg-bot weinforcements, stop the inwaders!” he speaks into a radio on his wrist.

Suddenly a sea of Tweetums’ egg-bots floods the battlefield and begins attacking Deuce’s robots. Rupes starts blasting down the egg-bots nearest him one by one with his keyboard weapon, but he quickly finds himself inundated by them.

Ace leaps up and slashes some robots into pieces with swift strikes of his sword. He then spins round and fires off laser vision blasts at others behind him. Lexi back flips over to him. The two bunnies are then surrounded by a small circle of robots.

“Ace, how ‘bout we try manoeuvre 21?” Lexi suggests with a grin.

Ace grins back and nods. Both bunnies suddenly leap up into the air. Lexi stretches out her arm and Ace grabs it. He swings her around him which sends both bunnies spinning in a large circle in mid-air. As they do, their legs strike several of the surrounding robots’ heads off. The headless robots collapse to the ground as Ace and Lexi gracefully land on their feet again. The two bunnies then stand back to back and continue firing off their laser vision and brain-blasts at more oncoming robots.

Duck jumps up with handfuls of power orbs and tosses them in all directions around himself at the robots surrounding him. The power orbs explode upon contact with the robots.

Slam spins forward in tornado mode and strikes down all the robots in his path.

Tech levitates two robots up into the air and spins round a full circle to build up momentum before swinging them into a bunch of others, causing them all to fall over backwards. Then as another robot runs up behind him, Tech levitates that as well over his head and smashes it down into the ground in front of him.

Rev throws himself at high velocity at a robot and strikes it with a speeding side kick. The impact of Rev’s contact knocks the robot backward. Rev then bounces off it toward another robot and knocks the second robot down in the same way. Rev continues to bounce off robots in a zig-zag pinball-like pattern without touching the ground during his attack bursts.

Sylth leaps from foot to foot and raises his fists in a boxing manner. “C’mon c’mon! I’ll pulverise ya all! I’ll I’ll-”

A robot fires at Sylth’s tail, setting its tip alight.

“Sufferin’ suckatash! My tail’s on fire” Sylth screams.

He grabs his tail in his paws and starts blowing vigorously at the flame, gradually putting out the fire. He sighs in relief.

“Alright! No more Mr. Nice pussy cat!” he warns.

Sylth throws himself at a bunch of the robots and begins punching, kicking and throwing them about.

Optimatus fires a cosmic light beam at Zadavia, but she leaps out of the way.

“You couldn’t stop me back home on Freleng sister! Now you won’t stop me here on Blanc either!” Optimatus taunts.

Zadavia takes on a look of determination at her brother’s words and fires a ray of cosmic light at him, knocking the royal sceptre out of his grasp. It slides across the ground and comes to a stop some distance away.

“The sceptre!” Optiamtus cries out.

He turns to reach for it, but then is tackled by Zadavia. Their hands clasp tightly as both siblings struggle to best the other. While they struggle, Deuce runs up to the royal sceptre and picks it up. A devious smile spreads across the Frelengian General’s lips as he grasps the royal sceptre. He then makes a run for the bridge-way.

“Deuce you treacherous turn-coat! Come back with my sceptre!” Optimatus orders furiously as he still struggles against Zadavia.

Deuce ignores him and continues running to the bridge-way.

“You should have known better than to trust Deuce brother!” Zadavia criticises. “He desires power only for himself. He would never share it with anyone! How short-sighted of you to not expect betrayal from him!”

Optimatus growls at his sister and with a sudden burst of energy thrusts her backwards onto the ground.

“I will make you be silent if nothing else sister!” he snarls angrily.

He fires another beam of cosmic light at Zadavia, but Zadavia deflects it with a light energy shield.

Ace spots Deuce as he runs to the bridge-way entrance.

“I’m going after Deuce!” Ace shouts over to Lexi.

He then sprints off in pursuit of Deuce.

Ace and Deuce square-off and more Tech heroics in chapter 9!

Chapter 9

Deuce runs through the transparent bridge-way into the wormhole generator core chamber, in which a giant round-shaped wormhole generator sits within a hive-like chamber. As Deuce enters, walking across the holed surface of the giant generator, a cylindrical platform rises out of the floor. With an eager grin, Deuce places the royal sceptre into a matching hole in the cylinder platform. The floor lights up as the generator comes to life.

“Finally! With command of wormhole travel, the universe will be mine! Power is within my grasp! I’ll just escape Blanc for now and gather a new army elsewhere.” Deuce rants to himself.

Ace enters the chamber then. Deuce turns round to face him and pulls out an extending sword of his own.

“Surely you weren’t thinking of leaving the party without saying goodbye now Deuce!” Ace mockingly says.

“Oh I’ll be saying goodbye alright,” Deuce coldly replies, “to you!”

Deuce lunges at Ace with his sword. Ace brings up his Guardian Strike Sword and blocks Deuce’s strike. The two swordsmen clash swords several times, their blades radiating brightly with energy. Deuce then takes Ace by surprise with a kick to the stomach, sending him banging into the cylinder control platform. Suddenly the floor moves as the giant wormhole generator realigns itself into a new direction. Then a large green light beam bursts out from two sides of the generator, penetrating out of the chamber through holes in the walls and stretching outside to where the first large-scale battle rages on. A giant wormhole opens up at the end of one side of the green beam of light, just below where Zadavia and Optimatus are fighting near the edge of a yellow path.

Optimatus spots an opportunity as he sees the giant wormhole opening up right below Zadavia, just behind her.

“No more Zadavia!” Optimatus suddenly cries, reaching a hand out in a pleading manner to Zadavia. “You win! I beg of you sister, grant me mercy!”

Optimatus’ other hand beside him glows discreetly as he prepares to fire a shot at Zadavia.

Zadavia narrows her eyes at her brother unsympathetically. “You brother, who is without compassion, now plead for it? I thought you were made of tougher metal!”

Just then Tech comes up from behind Optimatus, seeing what he is about to do.

“Zadavia, watch out!” Tech cries.

Tech runs at Optimatus and shoulders him off-balance. This sends Optimatus sliding to the edge of the yellow path, where the wormhole waits. But as Optimatus slides across the ground, he passes by Zadavia and grabs onto her ankle, dragging her down with him. Both brother and sister go over the edge of the path.

“Zadavia!” Tech shouts in panic.

He throws himself to the edge of the path and grabs a hold of Zadavia’s falling wrist just in time. He grunts as he struggles to retain his grip on Zadavia’s wrist and stop himself from sliding off the edge too.

“Tech, release me! Save yourself!” Zadavia shouts.

“Never!” Tech determinedly shouts back.

Below Zadavia, Optimatus is still holding onto her ankle whilst the pulling force of the wormhole tries to drag him and her in.

“If I go, at least I won’t be going alone!” Optiamtus triumphantly shouts up at Zadavia.

Zadavia points her hand to Optiamtus and prepares to fire a light energy blast at him. Optimatus’ face falls into dismay. Zadavia fires at Optiamtus, causing him to release his grip on her ankle and sending him spiralling down into the wormhole. He screams in terror as he is sucked into the wormhole.

“NOOOOOOO!!!”

The wormhole closes up after swallowing him.

Tech slowly pulls Zadavia up onto solid ground again.

Zadavia offers the genius an appreciative smile. “Thank you Tech.”

Tech weakly returns her smile.

Nice chapter so far! And I love how you showed Tech's compassion for Zadavia. This story is getting interesting as we go along. Hope to see the next chapter soon.

Well, after what happened in "The Music Villain", I just felt Tech and Zadavia's relationship there ought to be addressed again, rather than to just forget it. Season finales ideally should wrap up matters from eps earlier in the season i think. For that reason, i had Duck and Lexi use their Aqua-dense and plant control powers earlier too. I think most of us would like to have seen those things come up again in the season finale.

Whew! Sorry i haven't updated for quite a few days now! I've been preoccupied with reading books and starting work on a dissertation project. But the final battle finally comes to a close now in chapter 10!

Chapter 10

Back inside the generator core chamber, Ace and Deuce continue to clash swords.

“I’ve wielded swords much longer than you bunny rabbit!” Deuce boasts through gritted teeth. “You’re just a rookie swordsman compared to me! The powers of the Guardian Strike Sword are wasted on the likes of you! I should have had it!”

Ace strikes at Deuce in fury at his taunting words.

“I’ve learnt a lot ever since I was chosen to carry this sword.” Ace retorts. “You might have more physical sword skills than me, but you’re missing one very important thing to wield a weapon as great as this!”

“Oh? And what might that be?” Deuce contemptuously snarls.

“The heart of a true warrior!” Ace replies.

With great precision and force, Ace slashes his sword across Deuce’s and shatters it. Deuce gasps in surprise as he watches the broken pieces of his sword clatter onto the floor. When he looks up again, Ace smashes a powerful punch across his face, sending him flying over the side of the wormhole generator. He lands in one of the holes of the generator.

Ace runs up to the control cylinder and raises his sword, blade downward, over it. “Guardian Strike Sword, I call upon your powers to banish Deuce from Blanc…‘forever’!”

With a final burst of effort, Ace brings his sword down into the control cylinder. He holds on tightly to its handle as the sword’s energies travel down into the cylinder and interact with the royal sceptre. The wormhole generator moves and repositions itself once again. Deuce gasps as a wormhole opens up in front of him. He is instantly pulled into it and it then closes up after swallowing him.

Still unable to let go of his sword, Ace takes in a sharp breath and slides down onto his knees weakly, severely drained of energy.

Outside, Lexi and Duck face Rupes Oberon. Rupes fires a blast from his keyboard at the duo, but they both flip out of the way.

“It’s pointless for you to keep fighting now Rupes!” Lexi reasons. “Deuce has abandoned you and Optimatus is gone!”

Rupes halts his attack and looks at Lexi and Duck uncertainly. Finally, he lowers his head in defeat and drops his keyboard weapon with a heavy clunk onto the ground.

“Your lyrics ring true.” he murmurs sadly.

Zadavia, Tech, Rev, Slam, Sylth and Tweetums’ egg-bots take out the last of Deuce’s robots.

One robot approaches a defenceless Tweetums, but then Sylth knocks it down with a jumping side kick.

“I aways knew you wuvved lil’ ole me really!” Tweetums cheerfully says to Sylth.

Sylth growls at the canary princeling and snatches him up into his hand. “Listen ‘Chicken Little’, I don’t like you in the slightest! In fact, I could swallow you whole right now!”

Sylth raises Tweetums above his open jaws in preparation to make good on his threat, but then he notices that he is surrounded by numerous egg-bots with their weapons trained on him.

“Eheheheheheh!” Sylth nervously chuckles as he gently sets Tweetums down safely onto the ground and gives the small bird a light pat on the head for good measure.

“Tsk tsk Mr. Puddy Tat,” Tweetums tuts, “looks like I’m going to have to thwow you back in the slammer for an attempt on the woyalty’s life.”

Sylth looks down in surprise as an egg-bots places cuffs on his wrists. “No wait! I’ll be a good kitty from now on! I swear! Just don’t lock me up again! Pleeeeeeaaasseee!”

Sylth is picked up and dragged away by the egg-bots.

“We better go check on Ace!” Lexi reminds the others.

The Loonatics and Zadavia rush to the core chamber to find Ace. As they enter the chamber, they are confronted with the sight of a battle-worn, smouldering and exhausted Ace leaning against his sword which is sticking out of the ground. His long ears, normally holding themselves upright, now are flopped dismally against his head. The yellow bunny’s eyelids weakly open momentarily to allow him to see his gathered team mates, but then he passes out. His grasp on the sword fails and he falls away from it. Lexi gasps and dashes forward to him, catching him gently in her arms. She kneels down and rests her leader’s weary head on her shoulder.

“Ace…” she whispers as a tear falls down her cheek.

She closes her eyes and lightly leans her head on top of his, stroking his mucky cheek.

ROFL. Love the Tweetums-Sylth exchange. Poor putty tat. His misfortune is to our benefit (if that makes any sense).
And it's sweet, the ending with Ace and Lexi. Hopefully we shall discover the fate of our heroes in the next chapter.

Tech: It's just our last fight with Optimatus and Deuce, I hope.
Rev: Ya its not like we're dead or dying or gone or anything we're right here! Well, not techically but as in a matter of speech, you know like how they say 'can't teach an old dog new tricks' but your never to learn something new, thats what I always say, well, not always but that was another figure of speech tha....phhhf!
Others: -facepalm-

As for another chapter,......-puts on raggy clothes- Please ma'am, can we have some more?

And this re-write finally comes to a close now with chapter 11. Thank you to all my readers for spending time reading this! Hope it's given you all enjoyment and more importantly, a more satisfying way to end the 2nd season of LU!

Chapter 11

Sometime later, Zadavia stands before her Loonatics, a strange sad smile on her face.

“Loonatics, I wish to thank you all for saving me and planet Blanc. You are all true heroes.” she says slowly. “But now I think the time has come.”

The Loonatics all look at each other then at her puzzled.

“The time has come for what Zadavia?” Lexi asks confused.

Zadavia looks at them all with a sad, but kindly expression. “I think the time has come for me to return home to Freleng…and leave you all to carry on your good work on your own.”

The Loonatics stare at Zadavia in shock, then looks of disbelief come over their faces.

“Egahrubilah serious?!” Slam blabs.

“Yes Slam, I am serious.” Zadavia replies. “You have each progressed a long way Loonatics and no longer need my guidance. Now I believe you are ready to take on the responsibility of universal guardians!”

“Univoisal guardians eh?” Ace ponders aloud with a hand to his chin. “If we make Blanc our new base of operations, we could be anywhere in the univoise in a flash!”

Tweetums, who is on his hover disc, jumps up and down in delight.

“Oh goodie! Now Sir Duck can keep me company all the time!” he chirps happily clapping his hands.

Duck rolls his eyes in quiet disgust at the thought.

“Despicable!” he mutters under his breath.

“It has been a great honour working with you all.” Zadavia continues.

She glances down at Duck. “Even you Duck.”

Duck smiles at her mentioning of him.

“I am very proud of you all my dear friends.” Zadavia says with sincerity. “I will always have you close to my heart when I return to Freleng.”

“We’ll-stay-in-touch-right?” Rev quickly questions.

“Most definitely.” Zadavia reassures.

Her gaze then falls upon Tech who is standing silently with his arms crossed, his head turned to one side away from her in an attempt to hide his disappointment. Zadavia walks over to him.

“Thank you for everything Tech.” Zadavia softly says in a low voice for his ears only.

She bends forward and plants a light kiss on the top of Tech’s snout. Tech looks at her with slight surprise as she turns away from him.

“Goodbye…Zadavia…” Tech murmurs.

Zadavia boards her waiting white spaceship nearby. As the ship lifts up into the air, she waves farewell to the Loonatics on the ground below through a window, smiling exuberantly despite her eyes being wet with tears. The Loonatics all wave back to her with smiles and tears of their own. The white ship takes off into space and rapidly disappears from view, leaving a single twinkling star in its wake.

The End.

Got that right. At least they got to use their powers. I think In Search of Tweetums was the very firts episode where Rev never used his powers. And I was really looking forward to Tech using his powers in te season finale since he only used them in Family Buisness, I am Slamacus, and Music Villain.

I think Tech tended to rely more on his brains than his powers in S2 generally, it's not a bad thing, but really i think most of us would have liked to see him use both his brains and powers in equal quantities. But he and Rev were relegated into rather minor roles in the season finale. Oh well...

1. I absolutely love this. However I have yet to see the real season finale, so I cannot yet say this is better than the original.

2. Um...you may have given Tech and Rev more screen time, but you kinda didn't give slam much. In fact, I think slam was only mentioned about 5 times total.

3. I am wondering what happens between chapter 10 and 11 (and yes I know you wrote "later"). chapter 10 just ends with ace collapsing. in Chapter 11, Zadavia's about to leave, and Ace is all better. Would like to know what happened with him, especially when he wakes up.

4. in the chapter with Lexi and Duck using their new powers, why was Duck concentrating? he can't control water, unless his hands are in water. I'm sort of confused of what he was doing.
