Maybe (if Duck really was prince of Mars and he just found out) it would be a sercet worth keeping. Mars and Earth have been at war and there are hostilities that remain between them. To discover that Duck has Martian blood in him can even be a death penalty if the enmity between the two plantes is that serious.

I see that the martians attack and they have a powerfull weapon and they will use it to conquest everything...
Nobody can disconnect the weapon, even Tech, because only someone who has martian blood can stop it (something like genetic)... by accident duck put his hand (without glove) in the ADN receptor and the weapon stop... al are surprise... more Duck... after all he discover something about him... something that he always wanted to know... his origines...
And now he know he has martian blood (don't know if he is happy or not)... but that's not the problem, the weapon send the information of that ADN to Mars, where the evil king of Mars see the ADN... somewhat scary... somewhat angry and somewhat happy... Scary to know that he can lost everything... angry because he believed that he killed him long time ago when he was a baby... and happy to know that he still alive and do all the possible to kill him in order to never take away his power...

Maybe because they are in prision... or knowing that i they search him it will be worst to him... or they don't know he is alive... or his parents are death.... many answers to that question...
Eh, I still prefer the idea of Duck not being royalty (he doesn't need any more reasons to add to his ego). At least as for as continuity is concerned. In the realm of fandom, anything goes so long as it's coherent.
