Hay, do you belief that School Uniforms will help inprov a students grades.

The reason I'm asking is that, where I live the schooles arouned hear are starting to inflict uniforms. And its becas of teachers beliefing that they will help us students consentrate (ya wat everblankstare).

I don't think it will help. The kids at my school don't get distracted by what a nother is wearing, but from other influenses.

So what do you think?

Well there are pros and cons for school uniforms.

Pros:

  • Should the students in uniform go on a school trip and some of them get lost, should anyone like staff find these students, they can recognise that they are on a school trip and thus finding a group of people who have similar uniform to the ones the lost pupils are wearing. They'll be a lot easier to find than the ones in non-school uniform.

  • Well should the uniform be too dull for you to wear, you can customise it (as long as it is accepted by other people and teachers) or wear something familiar like a cool coat over your school T-Shirt. Loads of people do that in my school.

  • The students look more professional than in casual clothing.

Cons:

  • Nearly every kid in school would prefer to wear non-school uniform because as I said in the pros, school uniform is dull.

  • It doesn't show off the students individuality to what sort of thing they would wear. Loads of people in my school try to get away with wearing track suits over their school uniform (chavs).

  • Makes students feel imprisoned when wearing school uniform.

So those are the pros and cons of school uniform in schools.

I know another pro (similar to the first one):

If someone not from that school goes into the school grounds, staff and students can tell they don't belong. (The teachers tell us this at every assembly)

I really wish uniforms were an obligation ALL OVER the world. I know I was pissed, irritated and disgusted by all the exposed butts and boxers I've seen at my own school. It made me want to sneak up behind them and pull off their damn pants and, why not, the boxers too and leave them feeling humiliated in the middle of the crowd.

I have nothing against low pants in general, and if underwear shows briefly, it can be sexy on the right person. But when butts and packs start being exposed, we have a problem.

The vast majority of teenagers nowadays don't know what decency is, or flat out ignore it in order to be 'cool' (while they are just ridicolous), so this is why I approve and support uniforms, no matter how ugly or out-of-fashion (M'GOSH TEH DRAMA!) they may be.

I whole-heartedly agree with everything you just said Ayelet. Many students think the more vulgar your dress-code is, the more you are likely to be popular. It's a disgusting trend that can be avoided when uniform is made compulsory.

Also, there is another vital pro about the uniforms that Akira failed to mention: uniforms are better when you do not want waste an evening  choosing what to wear the next day.

Or the mornings.
Many girls in my school arrived really late (sometimes even up to a hour and a half!) because they didn't know what to wear. *rolls eyes*

Well, I know there are pros andcons to them, but. At the schools where I live the stoudent obay the dress code.

Yes there is the one ot two who hang there pants down low, but not that meny.(My town is a prood one) on the feiled trip subject we all have to whare tags say what school where from. The students around hear arnt late becas of out-fit problims its from chating to long in the hall.

The clous problem around hear isint that bad realy. So I don't get why ther forcing Uniforms. The only good thing I can think of comeing out of this is that parents wount have to pay for clous.

I personaly don't care one way or the other. I'm the kinda girl who dosint care what people think of me( I'm 14 and I've worn make-up 2 times in my life). Its jest I feel uniforms will acshaly damge my school.

That is a very good point. I did not mention that. Thanks.

I agree with all that is said. More teenagers think skimpy is cool. But then it can also be sluttish too.

And I just thought of another pro! You can't make fun of what someone wears if they are wearing the same uniform as you.

I've thought of this as well and have this to say, the kids who are bullys and pick on others will all ways be a bully. Now thay can't pick on a nother by what he/she wears. this is true, but what are they going to pick at now?

Eyes
hair
Phisical aperenc
haratig
famialy

The bullys will go for the stuff that truly hearts. The personal things. I, and maybe this is jest me, would prefer to be made fun of by what I wear thin what I look like and/or my family.
