Going interspecies in pairingsis perfectly fine. I mean, look at Tech/Rev and Duck/Zadavia shippers. It doesn't matter what species you are in the cartoon world, fans will pair their favourite characters with anyone they think is their match personality-wise. I was going to say more, but I forgot. XD
Honestly, I find it a little bit....weird. But, that's just my opinion, you're not forced to listen to it XD. I think that's why I am pairing Ace+Lexi and Tech+Cassidy together in my story. Anyway..... *runs away from random weirdos carrying pointy torches*

I don`t mind interspecies pairings, although I prefer the couples to stay within the same class (mammal, reptile, etc.), but there can be exceptions. I frequently pair wolves and vixens together in my mind, to give you an idea of my line of thinking.
Considering some writers use species to emphasize personality traits (or contrast with them for humorous effect), interspecies pairings are acceptable and perhaps even likely, at least in my eyes anyway. Of course, same-species couples are perfectly fine too. It`s all a matter of taste.
Just, uh, try not to get into bestiality or anything, k? That`s going a bit too far. And by bestiality, I mean human/animal, not human/anthro. The added human qualities to anthros make them more of a middle ground, and thus more acceptable as an idea. And the more human qualities they have, the better, although it`s no fun if they have hardly more than cat ears or a tail.
I do the same; i keep avians with avians and canines with canines. but when it comes to alien anthros, it's a completely different story... I don't know why. I'm weird I guess...
But it all depends, like Crossfire said, on what your choise is. If you wish to pair a human with an anthro, go for it. your choice. *nod*
