Chapter 1

A young toddler sat in the living room building a tower of brightly coloured building blocks. Giggling and smiling, the boy placed another wooden block on top of the tower he had so far. Just as he placed the block, the tower began to lean away from the child and surely enough, the tower was demolished into a pile of wooden blocks. The boy whimpered for a moment until he burst out into a loud cry. This attracted the attention of another young boy with silver spikey hair, who looked around seven years old. Seeing the toddler cry, he approached him gently and knelt down to the younger child's level and smiled down at him.

"Don't cry bro." He consoled him. "Lets build the tower again."

The older boy patted the toddler's back to encourage him to start again. But just as the older boy picked up the first block, the toddler flopped forward and shook violently. At first the toddler's older brother thought that he was just playing about, but as he tried to get his brother to respond, he shook more vigorously. The older boy stood up and opened his mouth really wide.

"Mom! Something's wrong with Sam!" He called out.

Just then, his mother rushed into the room to see the little boy still shaking out of control. The woman rushed down to her son and tried to get a response from him. Nothing happened. The child continued to shake.

"Drake! Call the ambulance!" She cried in panic to her other son.

The boy obeyed the order as he ran out of the room to make the phone call. As he grabbed the phone handle, he could hear his mother's cries increasing in volume. He dialed 999 and waited for a response at the other end of the line.
________________________________________________________

A few hours later, Drake and his mother sat in the hospital room, staring sadly at the unconscious toddler, with the breathing mask placed upon his face with the monitor beeping a steady beat. Drake watched his brother lying there peacefully as he listened to his mother's quiet sobs. As he sat there, he wondered what could have caused his brother to suddenly fit as he did. Just then, he heard his name being called from his mother. He turned his head attentively adn prepared himself to listen to her concerns.

"Drake?" She asked him. "Did you notice anything unusual before Sam had that fit? What did you do before it happened?"

"I just heard him crying cos his tower of blocks fell and I just picked him up and said I'd help him build another tower with him." Drake answered truthfully.

"So did Sam hurt himself then?" She asked again.

"No."

At that moment, the beeps turned into one monotone sound with the straight line dragging itself throughout the screen. The mother gave a gasp in panic and slammed her hand on the red button at the wall to sound an alarm. As she screamed for someone to save her son, Drake ran up to his brother's bed side and shook his arm violently.

"Please don't go!" Drake cried loudly. "You have to make it! You just have to!"

As if on cue, the unconscious boy's eyes flipped open and threw himself over in a sitting position. Sam was in such a panic that he immediately burst into tears and cried loudly. Their mother turned around in response to the sound and she gasped in shock as she ran up to him to hug the boy.

"Oh thank goodness you're alright!" She shrieked in happiness. "It's okay! Mommy's here now. Shush shush now darling."

As their mother consoled her youngest son, Drake glared at his hands in shock and fear. Both times he had touched his brother, he had a fit and was close to death but then was revived and is now obviously alive. He only looked up when he heard the doctor and nurses burst through the door to see what the commotion was all about. All the boy could do now was watch the drama unfold back into the way the day should have been instead of having a major panic over someone who could have lost their life.
_______________________________________________________

"I don't quite understand it Mrs Sypher." The doctor started. "You said he was dead and then somehow he came back to life?"

"He did come back to life!" The woman stammered trying to control her volume. "My son also saw him didn't you."

Drake nodded his head in agreement as he continued to play with the toy cars on the floor with his brother. The doctor stroked his chin.

"Well all I can say is that your son is very lucky to be alive." He continued.

Drake meanwhile pulled a toy car back and watched it zoom across the floor until it hit the doctor's feet. He quickly raced towards him and picked the car up. He looked up to the doctor and gave a nervous smile at him.

"S-Sorry." He apologised as he patted the doctor's shoe.

Just as he rushed back to where he was playing, the doctor suddenly touched his head and moaned at the sharp pain. The woman gave a disgruntled look at him.

"Are you alright?" She asked him.

The doctor then removed his hand from his bald head and placed it on the table.

"Yes. Must have been a bit of a headache." He answered.

"So what do you think happened to Sam?" Their mother inquired.

"I'm not sure what the circumstances were at your home." The doctor started. "But once we've done a few check-ups with Sam, we might find out the problem. All I can say is that when you bought him here, he seemed to be having a seizure."

"He had an atonic seizure."

Both the adults turned to Drake who stood there innocently.

"What?" His mother stared at him in suprise.

"When I touched him, his muscles in his neck were releasing causing a head drop." The boy continued to explain. "But unlike this sort of seizure, this wasn't brief because it lasted more than fifteen seconds. Since this is only his first time, we can't say that he has been diagnosed with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. But it really depends on the amount of the electrical activity of his brain, with traces of a summation of post-synaptic potentials from a large number of neurons. But that might not be the case because the brain does not broadcast electrical waves, and there are rather voltage differences between different parts of the brain."

The adult's mouths dropped open at what the boy had just explained to them. The mother gaped at how he managed to come to that detailed conclusion. And the doctor's eyes were wide open thinking how the boy managed to know what he probably or should have knew.

"H-How did you know all this?" Drake's mother finally stammered.

Drake shrugged his shoulders.

"I don't know." He replied. "It just suddenly came to me."

The adults glared at each other in amazement as the doctor casually smiled after.

"He a very precoscious child isn't he?" He murmured.

"But he has never known about that before until now." The woman exclaimed.

The doctor then wrote something down on a piece of paper.

"Well just in case, we'll need you to bring Sam here for a check-up just to make sure." He said. "Should you have any problems or questions, just call me alright?"

Their mother stood up from her chair and took the paper and gathered her children up from the toy box and headed for the door.

"Thank you doctor." She smiled as they all walked through the door.

Just as the door gently closed, the doctor tapped his pen on the desk and pondered to himself.

"How was that boy able to identify his brother's diagnosis so accurately?" He asked himself.

He held onto his head again at the sharp pain that appeared again briefly. As soon as he relieved himself, he decided to go through the door.

"I need some rest." He thought to himself.

Hmm... I'm not sure cos I've got "That beautiful blue and green planet" to preess on with and my action of posting this story could be regretful if I'm doing two stories at the same time. But I have been thinking about this story lately so I guess I'll continue.

Hmmmm....interesting.....very interesting......

Two stories are hard to do at once, Akira, but maybe it might work out. Then again, if you start spending time with just one of them, you'll complete that story and have no idea what to do with the other. But all in all, this is a very intriging story and if you do decide to continue with it, I'm sure gunna be waiting!

Chapter 2

Hey. Sypher here. Drake Sypher if you call me by my real name.

Most people wish they could have super powers anytime of the day in their whole life. I bet you have wished for cosmic powers. Be honest. I bet you've always wanted to have super-speed so you'll get to work on time, or telepathy so you could hear or see what the answers are to the latest pop quiz that a strict teacher gives you, or even have the ability to stretch any limb from your body so you could grab a nice cold can of fizzy pop without having to move from the sofa while watching your favourite programme on TV. But whether you want powers just to help people around the world, or if you intend to use them for your own purposes, having super powers is a curse.

I, Drake Sypher, found out about my powers after I almost killed my little brother Sam, by taking the life from inside him. Literally. Fortunately he was alright and was alive and kicking in a few days. But when I accidently pushed a toy car into the doctor's leg, I somehow knew about Sam's fit and what could have caused it. My mom and the doctor was baffled. But they gave me the benifit of the doubt. But as the time flew by, strange things had been happening around me.

Like the time I wasn't able to play the piano until a moment later. It began like any other day. On any other Tuesday to be exact, because that was when my mom used to teach piano to anonymous people that I had to hide myself from until her student's left. It was that particular Tuesday morning where I wanted a cup of orange juice from mom before her guest arrived.

So naturally, I searched all over the house to find mom until I finally found her setting up the music room for the lesson. Approaching her, I tugged on her hand just to get her attention. But just as I tugged on her arm, some form of invigorating energy passed all over my body. That was the the same sort of energy that I felt when I picked up my brother before he fell into an epiliptic fit. As this energy coursed through my body, my mom lurched forward for a moment. I jumped back and panicked. I thought she was going to go through the same painful experience that Sam had gone through.

"Mom!" I cried.

But strangely enough she slowly straightened herself and subconsciously felt her head with her hand. She brushed away her blonde hair and finally gazed down at me.

"What is it Drake?" She groaned. "One my students is going to arrive at any moment."

At first I couldn't say anything because I was so concerned about the way that mom lurched forward as though she was gonna throw up. But she seemed fine as I looked at her. So I selflessly forgot about my thirst and turned my back on her.

"Nothing now." I replied as I ran into the living room.

Which was very good timing because I heard the door bell rang as soon as I set foot into the room. As usual, my mom walked upt to the door and opened it to reveal a young teenage girl with brown platted pig-tails wearing green glasses on her face and wore a school uniform of a white shirt with a navy blue, sleeveless dress over the shirt. She greeted my mom with a smile.

"Good afternoon Mrs Sypher." she said as she entered into the house.

I just couldn't help but watch both of them having their conversation as they walked through into the music room where mom usually taught her students to play the piano.

I sat in the living room for a while watching Sam play with his action figures. I was happily sitting there until I felt something telling me to get up. An urge of some sort made me feel all shakey in the inside. That urge was telling me to play the piano. I was never interested to play any musical instrument, so why was I wanting to play the piano I thought to myself?

Eventually, I couldn't resist and jumped off the sofa and ran towards the music room. I knew as a house rule, I wasn't allowed to go into the music room when mom was teaching piano to her students, but this felt so important to me. I felt like I had to play the piano. By the time I entered the music room, I saw my mom struggling to read what was on the paper on the piano while the teenage girl's face screwed in confusion.

"Um... Are you alright?" The girl asked my mom.

"I-I'm fine." She stammered. "I'm just trying to figure out the next set out notes so I can play them to you."

At that moment, I knew I had to do something. So I strolled up to my mom who was now holding her head as though she was having a headache.

"Are you okay mom?" I asked. "Why don't you take a rest and I teach her?"

My mom glanced at me while she groaned.

"Darling, I thought I told you not to come in here when I'm teaching the lessons." She grumbled. "Now let me concentrate on this please."

"But mom. You look sick." I countered.

"He's right." The girl agreed with me. "You do look a little bit pale."

"What were you trying to play anyway?" I asked curiously.

"The 'Bagatelle in A minor'." The girl replied.

"You mean the 'Fur Elise'?" I inquired.

Where on Earth I got that from I'll never know. But when I took up my position on the piano and started to play the first few notes, my mom was gobsmacked along with the girl who's jaw was wide open. My fingers floated across the keys producing the harmonic sounds that I could never play before until now. I continued to play until I finally managed to reach the end of the song. By then both my mom, the girl and I couldn't believe what we all have just heard. Finally, the girl started to speak.

"I can see where your son gets his ability from." She murmured.

At that moment, my mom got up from her place as I stood up from the stool. She gently nudged my back with her hands. But just as she did so, I felt the energy that I had swirling inside of my body drained out of me back to the way I was. And it was at that moment that I forgot how the whole music went.

But it didn't matter. I was out of the room so mom could get on with her piano teaching. And just as I started to walk away from the room, I could hear the music that I had just played, echo from inside the room. I took a glance at the door and stared at it. But then I stared down at my hands. What I performed was something I could never do before. So how come was it that I was able to play the piano so well at that particular time I asked myself.

I decided to hang onto that thought as I ran into the living room to check if Sam was alright from being left alone all that time I have spent playing something that I couldn't comprhend before.

Chapter 3

After my mom took me back to the hospital to ask the doctor about what was going on with my new found abilities and then losing them again, he did an inspection on me. After that, he shook his head.

"I'm sorry Mrs Sypher. But this is more of a job for a scientist than a doctor."

At first my mother was against the whole idea, protesting to him that I was just a seven year old boy who shouldn't be experimented on. But as she thought about the events that happened to me lately like landing on my feet from a twenty foot drop from our tree house that we had in the back garden without breaking a single bone in my body while trying to rescue a cat, she eventually agreed to let the doctor contact a scientist he knew.

The next day, me, mom and Sam was summoned to the Acme Tech Institute just to play a few games according to my mom.

As we walked down the street, I could see the tall building looming closer to us. But my mom kept assuring me everything was going to be okay in her usual soothing voice.

Once we entered through the doors of the building, we were told to wait at the waiting room to wait for the man we were going to meet. As we sat nervously, my mind felt blank, yet I had so many things swirling around inside. It was so hard to think of one thing to focus on just to ease my patience.

It was not long before a dark haired man with a pair of glasses hanging on his nose approached us with a greeting smile.

"You must be the Sypher family?" He grinned. "I'm Professor Ino."

"Yes." Mom perked up as she shook his hand.

His focus then turned to me.

"And you must be the young man that my friend, Dr Edwards. Drake Sypher I presume?"

I nodded as I shook his hand. At that moment, the man lurched forward as though he had a sudden pain. At the same I time, I felt the energising energy I've been feeling everytime I touched something. The professor tilted up slowly and felt his head with his hand. My mom asked if he was alright, but he assured her he was okay and led us to the area where I was meant to be "playing" some games.

As we arrived at the room where I was going to be tested, he stopped and turned to us.

"First, we must test him on his IQ." Ino said. "We must see how intelligent Drake really is."

He explained the procedures to a normal test. No calculators, no answer sheets. Just purely on my intelligence.

After he said everything, I was sat down in an empty room with only a small desk with a pen and the test paper with a chair next to the desk. I slowly sat down and waited for my cue to start. One of the scientists who was in the same room as me signalled for me to start. I turned the paper over and scanned the questions on the page. At first, nothing made sense to me. I read the first question:

Complete this number sequence:

2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, ?

I had no idea what the pattern was in it. I was starting to think of the pointlessness of this test when a number popped into my head. Seventeen. Then I realised why it came into my head. All the numbers on there were prime numbers! How I knew that, I'll never know. I just scribbled the answer down as fast as the rest of the answers popped up in my head after I read each question. After a few more minutes, I finished the test. I was allowed to have a break while the professor took my results, I decided to play with Sam with a few toys that were lying around. I could still remember the answers while playing with Sam. A few minutes passed and finally, the professor glared at the pieces of paper in his hands as though he had recieved a shocking discovery. He then looked up to the three people who waited for the result to flow from his mouth.

"I don't want to alarm you Mrs Sypher. But your son's IQ goes way beyond a genius! He has an IQ of 250!" He declared to her.

"What!?" My mom couldn't belive it herself when she heard this. "How is it possible!?"

"Well according to this test, he has got every single answer right!" The professor continued. "And the only person who knows the answers to all the questions on this test is me!"

"So how on earth can he get all those answers right?" My mom asked again.

"I'm not sure." Ino placed his hand on his chin. "But we must do more research. This could be the discovery of the century!"

He then approached me as I turned around to meet his face.

"You must be a special child since you managed to get all the answers right." He murmured to me.

As he shook my hand, I felt the energy disappear out of me as the man shook a little bit before spoke with my mom and escorted us out of the building. But strangely enough, I couldn't recall the answers from that test. I couldn't even remember the reason why seventeen was the correct answer to the first question. All knew now was that there was definately something going on from within me. And that the tests the professor was going to put in front of me was going to help me learn the answer to the questions that filled out my mind all this time.

WHOA! Wait!

Does this mean that Sypher got his powers BEFORE the meteorite?

Other than that, good job!!

Chapter 4

For the next few weeks, I was constantly tested on my abilities. Although I was expected to give them good results, I performed like any other average child would. The tests I did included putting blocks of shapes back together in a logical order, trying to work out how fit and healthy I was and other experiments that the professor could come up with.

Finally the testing came to an end, but the professor seemed unsure about the whole thing. He turned to us just as he had done so many times before.

"This is very strange," He muttered. "How is it that he displayed his intelligence in such a successful action but the rest of the tests that required that amount of brain power in an average manner?"

"Maybe he wasn't feeling well about the fact that he is constantly coming here just to do tests." My mom said.

"That could be a possibility." The professor scratched his chin and then tilted his head to my mom. "So why did Dr Edwards send your son here?"

"Because I asked him about some strange things that have happened around Drake." My mom explained.

"Strange this?" Ino inquired. "What do you mean by this?"

"Once, Drake and Sam was playing in the tree house that we have in our back garden. And Drake seemed to have notced a cat stuck in the tree near the tree house." She continued. "He attempted to rescue it, but just as he grabbed the cat, he fell from a twenty feet drop."

"Your son would have broken every bone on his body." The professor said.

"But the thing is, he landed on his feet just like a cat. And didn't break a single bone in his body." My mom finished.

"But that would be impossible for a normal child." Ino gave a disgruntled face. "Anything else that he did that was unusual?"

My mom explained a few other incidents like when I was able to play the piano from nowhere and when I explained to the doctor about the fit Sam had long ago. Professor Ino scratched his head until he came up with an idea.

"Let me try something for a moment with Drake if you please Mr Sypher." He asked as she nodded her head, desperate to know what was going on.

The man turned to me.

"Drake, let me ask you a question." He said as I listened attentively. "What are the four fundamental interactions between particles?"

I stared at the man with a blank face. I didn't know what any of it means let alone what the answer was. I could only shake my head.

"I don't know." I replied.

"What are you trying to do?" My mom asked me.

"Patience Mrs Sypher." Ino said casually. "Now let me hold your hand for a moment Drake."

I nervously slithered my hand into his. Again, the professor lurched forward as though he was going to be sick while I felt the invigorating energy pass through me. My mom stood up and gasped.

"Oh my goodness! Are you alright?!"

The professor finally stood up slowly, holding his head yet again.

"I am fine." He groaned.

He turned to me once more.

"Now I'm going to ask you the same question. And again, you must give me an answer." He instructed me. What are the four fundamental interactions between particles?"

My mind felt blank at the moment until the answer appeared in my head.

Electromagnetic energy, strong nuclear energy, weak nuclear energy and gravity. It was worth a try. It sounded right anyway. No. It was right. I was sure of it. I opened my mouth to give out my response.

"Electromagnetic energy, strong nuclear energy, weak nuclear energy and gravity."

The professor nodded.

"Correct." He told me.

My mom gave us a suprised look on her face.

"B-But how did he know?" She stammered in fright.

"I think I've managed to work it out." The professor beamed. "When I touched Drake, I felt something being taken away from me. Somehow, your son has the ability to take the attributes of a person when he comes into physical contact with them. Whether it's a physical or mental attribute, he can use them to his advantage. It also works the other way around. He can also give back the ability to the one he took the attribute from in the first place."

"So that could be the reason why he could play the piano and get all the IQ questions right one moment but not remember it the next time." My mom finally realised.

"No." The professor corrected her. "It is the reason."

He reached out his hand to me to touch my shoulder. And so many times before, I felt the energy from him disappear as he felt more invigorated.

"Just like that." He said as he gave my mom a piece of paper and looked down at me with a broad smile crossing his face. "I'll expect more great things from you next time you come here."

And with that, he walked out of the room through the silver door.

As I gazed down onto my hands, I realised now what was going on. I could take away people's abilities and give it back to them at my will at anytime I choose. I could use this power for the good of man-kind just like my comic book heroes. I could do whatever other people can do just by touching them. For me, this was the beginning of something new...

Chapter 5

After a few weeks of more testing, everything made more sense to more people as they witnessed my ability taking powers work on other people and what they can do to control my powers.

Finally, me and my mom was called by Professor Ino to test out the thing that could help me control my powers. I didn't really know whether to feel happy that I can touch people like a normal person without having to take something away from them. But I felt a relief that I wouldn't hurt anymore people when I just simply make contact with them.

And so we arrived at the Acme Tech Institute to be greeted by the professor and taken into his office where he revealed a box, telling us it was the only thing that could control my absorbing powers. I gazed down at the box as I looked up upon my mom. She just gave me an excited smile.

"Well, go on." She encouraged me. "Open it and see what's inside."

Nodding my head, I pulled off the lid and lifted out what looked like a pair of yellow rubber gloves with a silver metallic border at the end near the wrist part of the gloves. At first I was puzzled because to me, they looked like a pair of actual rubber gloves. But Ino explained the device.

"These gloves help neutralise the power from withing your body so when you touch someone or vice-versa, they wouldn't feel the sensation of something being taken away from them." He said. "The hands are the main touching tools on our bodies. So the greatest impact of having abilities taken away from people is if his hands come into physical contact with anyone. But once he wears those gloves, the hands become completely neutralised, therefore he is completly harmless to anyone who has physical contact with him."

My mom seemed so happy to finally be able to hug me like a normal mother would. But I felt a little disappointed that the gloves didn't look like the way I wanted them to. But as long as they stopped me from hurting people, then I was quite happy to recieve the hug from my mom. I just couldn't wait to touch things with these gloves on.
__________________________________________________________

"Hey! Glove boy!" a random boy shouted as he pushed me onto the ground as we walked across the playground.

I quickly picked myself up as I heard some other laughters of cruelty from other kids who laughed with the boy.

"Come on. Leave him alone. He hasn't done anything to you." A girl interupted the laughters.

"But he's wearing rubber gloves!" The boy pointed at my hands. "All the rest of us aren't wearing any rubber gloves!"

Like most kids who got bullied, I had to learn to tolerate it. I wore the gloves for a reason. So I just ignored the comments and jeers. Even though it happened everyday, at least I wasn't about to make contact with them. I gave a letter that my mom wrote to every teacher I had lessons with

That was until one day, I commited such a terrible crime. A crime so terrible I kept blaming myself for it, even if everyone else said it wasn't my fault.

It was at a lunchtime where I was peacefully sipping some mushroom soup from my spoon. The peace was then disrupted by the same boy who pushed me over who was followed by a few of his friends with wicked grins across their face. The ringleader moved closer towards me.

"Hey Glove Boy. What are you eating?" He poited his finger at the soup I was eating from.

I looked down on the soup and then looked back up onto the boy's face.

"M-Mushroom soup." I gulped.

"Are you afraid of getting your hands dirty?" The boy teased again.

"Maybe he's hiding something away from us." One of his friends added.

"Maybe he has hairy hands with really sharp claws." Another mocked.

"Or maybe even lizard scales!" Exclaimed another.

The boy leaned closer to me, almost making physical contact with me.

"So what are you trying to cover up from us?" The boy sneered.

My body felt shaky. I had to get myself away from them. I had to avoid making too big a commotion. So I replied the only thing I could think up on the spot.

"N-Nothing" I said with my voice trembling. "I have to go now."

"Liar!" The boy snarled. "Get him!"

Before I could run, him and all of his friends jumped on top of me so I couldn't move. I struggled violently. But it was all in vain as each of his friends held down each of my limbs. As I looked up, I could see the boy sitting on top of me so I couldn't escape. He grabbed my right wrist and brung it to his face.

"Now lets see what sort of creature you are..." The boy chuckled evily as I braced myself for the worst.

He pinched my middle finger and pulled the glove off to reveal my sweaty hand. All the other boys groaned in disappointment as they let go of my limbs and stepped away from me. Only the boy sitting on my chest remained in place. By now, I was finding it difficult to breathe with him on top of my chest. I wished for him to just get away from me so I could grab my other glove when one of his friends pointed at me.

"What about his other hand!?" He shouted.

As I looked upon my left hand which was still incased in the glove, I started to struggle again so he wouldn't get it off while I was moving. By doing this, I was making the ringleader agitated.

"Keep still Glove Boy!" He demanded while trying to catch my left hand wiggling like a worm.

"No! You mustn't take off the other glove!" I warned him.

"Shut up and give me your other hand!" He ordered.

"Please! I beg you! Don't take off the glove!" I begged. "You'll get hurt if you do!"

"Shut up and give me your hand!" He bellowed as he raised his arm up and punched me on my left cheek.

I lost focus on my struggling as it gave the boy enough time to grab my stationary hand. I tried not to focus too much on my pain as I continued begging him to stop what he was doing. But the boy ignored my warnings as he whipped off the other glove. I winced as I tightened my eyes closed and prepared for the worst possible outcome possible.

Chapter 6

I waited for him to give a piercing scream in pain. I didn't hear anything apart from gasps of fear and terror. Not only did I feel some energy pass into me, I was able breathe properly. I opened my eyes and was able to sit up, only to finding the bully shaking violently on the floor. I looked around the dining hall to see the terrified faces of my peers. The girls started to scream.

"Quick! Someone get the teacher!"

The fear that I had for Sam fitting when he was younger came back to me. I immediately grabbed onto the boy's arm to give whatever I absorbed back to him. He stopped shaking, but he didn't wake up. I backed off away from him and panicked. Have I killed him? Was I too late to heal him and get him back to normal? I looked down onto the floor to find both gloves lying there. I frantically picked them up and slipped them back on before I felt a huge push from one of his friends with rage on his face.

"Get out of here you freak!" He yelled at me. "You killed him!"

Whether or not I did kill him, I was scared. So I did the only thing that came naturally to me. I turned around and started to run away. Away from the frantic mob, away from the boy who I may have killed, away from the situation.

I eventually ran up the road where my house was
with hot tears streaming down my face. I ran as fast as possible all the way back home. I wanted to close myself up from the world or have the ground swallow me whole and never spit me out again.

Finally, I arrived at my house and ran up the front garden. I pulled open the door and slammed it behind me once I got inside. I panted hard as tears still emerged from my eyes. I looked up to find my mom with a suprised look on her face staring back at me. She then opened her arms as though to embrace me with a hug.

"Oh Drake! What happened? Why are you home so early?"

I couldn't hold it in anymore. I let out a cry as I hugged her back. As I did this, I felt grateful that I still had my gloves on enough to hug someone who was going to comfort me. At least I had a normal embracement when something as terrible as what happened at school took place in my life.
___________________________________________________________

The boy I touched regained consciousness within a week, but I was excluded from school the same amount of time it took him to do so. And when I did come back, teachers told me not to so anything as bad as that again. But even so, all the other kids started to avoid me. And rightly they should. I decided to try and put a barrier between me and other people. Even though I closed myself from everyone else, my peers couldn't help but spread rumours about me and went over the top with my powers, saying that I can send out poison waves or something.

Things didn't get better in secondary school. I realised as people got older, they became more violent. And my theory was correct. I remember once when I was eleven, I was on my way to my next lesson that a group of kids dragged me to their class and tried to make me send out poison waves. Two people grabbed hold of each of my limbs as a different ringleader tried to take off my gloves just as the other boy did.

"Go on Glove boy! Send out some poison waves!" He cackled as he tugged onto my arm violently.

This time my fists were clenched tight so he found it hard to take them off. I made sure, for a fact, that no-one was going to get hurt. I made it my duty as I tried to struggle from their grip. While doing this, I tried to think of nothing. In fact, I tried not to think incase I did send out some for of wave.

Then I heard voices complaining that the activity they were doing was starting to get boring. I was just to take a sigh of relief when the leader took out a match from his pocket and struck it so a flame emerged.

"Okay then, lets turn up the heat!" The boy grinned evily.

I panicked again trying to keep strong while the bully waved the match in front of me.

Suddenly, we all heard a door open and a stern voice.

"What is going on here?" The voice inquired.

The bullies started to panic as they loosened their grip on me.

"Shoot! It's the teacher!"

I hoped for my sake that they get punished. But unfortunately for me, they improvised a lie to make themselves look innocent.

"Sir! Sir! Drake was playing with matches! We tried to stop him but he just didn't listen!"

I exhaled a deep breath as I laid myself across the table.

"Good." I thought. "No-one is hurt. I didn't do anything bad."
 ______________________________________________________

Mr Parson believed me about the incident however and told my mom what happened. That was when she made the descision for me and Sam to move schools. We discussed the whole decision at dinner.

"This bullying has got out of hand. I don't want you to be in that environment with those kids anymore." She told me.

But feeling as though it was my fault, I sighed.

"You and Sam go on without me. I deserve to be punished. After what I did, I'm not sure whether I should go to prison for my crimes."

My mom could see that I was about to burst into tears. So she got up from her chair and came over to me and hugged both me and Sam.

"Drake. None of this is your fault. No matter how bad it my seem, you have managed to control your powers. It's just other people were trying to make you react. But even if they did touch you without your gloves, you did warn them and you did ask them to stop. And not everyone would do what you do if they had powers. You would never try to show off or perform your abilities to them. And that makes me so proud to have you two as my children."

As the hug got tighter, I quietly cried into her arms thinking of what she had told me. I knew that I caused both mom and Sam so much trouble but they both still coped with the things that have happened to me, good and bad. I just hoped for their sake, that when we did move to a different school that the different people there would greet us with open arms, with or without my gloves.

Chapter 7

I didn't change when me and Sam went to a new middle school. I didn't lower the wall that separated me from everyone else. I just wanted to make sure people are safe away from me. But as I obstructed myself from people, I began to feel a deep and moaning sense of lonliness within me. I wanted to be with people. But I didn't want to risk hurting anyone like I did to that boy in kindergarten. To everyone else, I was a loner. An outcast of the school, wandering around emtionless without anyone beside me.

It carried on right through to high school. No-one wanted to be with me still. And at the same time, I was starving from lonliness. At fifteen, I was struggling to keep up my duty until finally I gave up. And it was all thanks to Sandy Crawshaw. I was just walking slowly up the corridor as I usually did, drowning myself in thoughts of negativity. Suddenly, I felt a bump as I heard some books scatter onto the floor. Just when I snapped out of my thoughts, I gazed upon the most beautiful girl I've ever saw in my whole life. Her long blonde hair was held back with a pink head band and her sapphire eyes shone like the real shiny jewels I've seen. My heart pounded in motion and sound as I felt butterflies fluttering madly in my stomach. It wasn't until I heard her voice that I truly woke up from my day-dream.

"Sorry." She apologised as she bent down to pick up her books.

Being polite and the gentleman that I felt I should be in front of her, I bent down to her level to help.

"No. I'm the one to apologise." I stammered as I started to collect half of her things up.

Sandy collected some of her other things until there was one more book left on the floor. And before I knew it, both of us subconsciously touched each other's hands as we both tried to pick up that last book. We then snatched our hands back to ourselves as we both got up at the same time. None of us could say anything for a moment until Sandy finally opened her mouth.

"Bye." She briefly said as she pushed past me and charged down the corridor.

As I looked at her speed walking towards a T-junction of the corridor, I felt a feeling that I never felt before. For once after all this time, I actually wanted to be near her. I wanted to get to know her and know all about her. What she likes and dislikes and what I had to do to get her to like me. In the end, it was decided. I was going to try and get her to like me. I wanted to get some attention. Not bad attention. Good attention. The one where I would be rewarded with praises and people's admiration. I decided to finally put my powers into very good use.

I decided to prove myself good in at least some sports just to get me started. Girls and guys like people who keep themselves fit and healthy and play sports in general. If I could find some sports that I was good at, then maybe she'll like me. And my target? Anthony Rodden.

He was the biggest male jock in the school. He played American football, basketball and was the fastest track runner in his athletics team. Everyone else likes him. So I figured if Sandy saw how good I was at sports, then she'll like. Anthony would be the perfect pawn for me.

The opportunity came when our class had P.E.. And thanks to the fact that he was in my class, taking his ability would be easy. We all got changed in the changing room. I saw Anthony near the toilets along with some other guys. If I could accidently on purpose trip over something and put my hand on him to get my balance, I could take his sport abilities. So this was it. This was going to be the first time I took off my rubber gloves on purpose. I slipped each glove off and tucked them into my shorts so I didn't lose them. Then it was time to put my plan into action. I strode across the changing room towards Anthony. As long as I touched no-one else, I was okay. Finally, I got to the distance where I could accidently trip over something. I leaned forward and gravity did the rest for me. I fell over until I grabbed Anthony's arm. And it was then I was enjoying the satisfying taste of his talent. I had to hope he didn't fit like the others before him. Surely enough, I took my arm off him and apologised casually and quickly slid into one of the cubicles. As I pretended to do my business, I could hear from the other side someone moaning at a headache.

"Anthony. Are you okay?"

"I'm fine. It must be a headache or something."

I gave a deep sigh of relief. He didn't fit. Just had a headache like Professor Ino did. I waited for a few more moments until it was the right time to come out. When I stepped out of the cubicle, I washed my hands so I didn't raise suspicions and quickly slipped my gloves back on. At that moment, we were called onto the field.
_______________________________________________________

"Today, we're gonna play soccer." The coach announced to the group of boys.

Some of the boys groaned while others secretly hissed in excitement. I looked around to Anthony who still looked weary but looked alright at the same time. I turned my focus to the coach again.

"Right. Lets do some drills."

As we went through the drills, I noticed that Anthony was almost out of breath and didn't have the stamina that he had in any other sport he played. I didn't care too much about it as I ran confidently. Finally, we came to the moment that everyone waited for. The match. It may have been a match with just our class in, but I was determined to show the coach what I can do.

After we were sorted into teams, I took my position which was right wing attack. In my view I could see Anthony in the left attacking position at the center spot with the ball. As everyone waited for the whistle to blow, I took a quick glance outside the pitch to find Sandy standing there, staring at me on the pitch. My heart stopped for a moment and I fidgeted with my red bib. But my heart started again after I quickly focused back onto the match. The coach blew his whistle and Anthony tapped the ball to the other player in the center.

The ball was passed onto a player playing center midfield. Immediately, I ran up the wing of the pitch hoping they would chip the ball to me. Unfortunately, I heard a call from Anthony.

"Jason! Over here!"

The boy named Jason chipped the ball across the pitch to land perfectly in Anthony's feet. He then turned around to find a player charging at him. Now normally, everyone would have expected him to take him on and run circles around the defenders and score a goal within ten seconds. But today wasn't the case. He just stood there in fear, not knowing what to do. So he tried kicking the ball through the attacker by kicking the ball really hard. But since the defender wasn't a ghost, it bounced straight back to another player in the opposing team and the dribbled freely with the ball, leaving our team, and the coach shocked and disappointed.

"What were you doing!?" His team mates yelled at him as they all rushed up the pitch to try and retrieve the ball.

Fortunately, our goal-keeper saved the shot from the opposing team and dropped kicked the ball up the pitch. While everyone else was running up in the same direction, Anthony jogged slowly, huffing and wheezing. Just then, the ball suddenly appeared at my feet. Instantly I dribbled the ball towards a group of defenders. The rest of my team mates prepared themselves for a moment's cringing as they watched me like a lamb to the slaughter. But I knew that was going to change. My feet performed a drag back but I kicked it to the side at the last minute and dribbled forward. I defeated the next defender with the 'Maridonna spin' and the next with the 'Ranaldo'. I performed a marvel of fancy moves that made everyone on the pitch and the coach's jaws drop to the ground.

Finally I came up to our opponet's last line of defence. Their goal-keeper. The goal-keeper spread his arms out wide. I knew this would be the shot that could make or break the praises I was so desperately searching for. The shot that could make me popular and hopefully get Sandy to like me. I pulled my leg back. Then I swung it forward and booted the ball. It flew across the pitch. I froze on the spot. The goal-keeper dived to the left. The ball rolled into the goal.

Our team cheered and gasped in shock as the coach signalled that the goal was valid. I safely knew that my powers have done their job. I looked out of the game to see Sandy with the same shocked face as everyone else. I would have waved to her, but I had to score a few more goals in this game to make sure that I wasn't a one goal wonder.

Chapter 8

The whistle was finally blown and our team won ten to zero. And I was the one who scored all those goals. Everyone but Anthony and some of his loyal friends bundled on me and praised me saying they all thought I was okay after they saw the talent that I possessed. For once I was actually smiling for real. I felt so proud, even when we entered the changing room. But I could see over the other side that Anthony only had a small group of friends around him telling him that things are okay.

"I think something's wrong with me." Anthony rubbed his head. "I think I'm sick."

"Nonsense." One of his friends assured him. "Everyone has their off days. I'm sure things will be better for you later on."

After we all got changed, I was going to exit the gym area when I heard someone call my name.

"Sypher. Come here. I want to talk to you."

I turned around to find the coach approaching me in his red jacket and navy blue track suit bottoms. He fiddled with his green cap after he stopped.

"Those skills that displayed at the soccer lesson... they were pretty impressive. Where did you get the moves from?"

I had to think up an excuse acceptable enough to the coach. I couldn't just say I stole them off Anthony. That would be suicide. Plus, I very much doubt that he'd believe me about my powers. I gulped and improvised something.

"I used to play a lot of swoccer when I was younger. But I couldn't play for a while cos I broke my leg and my mom tried to keep me away from playing the game incase it happened again." I lied.

The coach scratched his head and then gave a nod.

"But you still played because you love playing soccer?" He asked me.

"Yes." I answered quickly.

"Well I want to make a little proposition for you." He smiled at me. "I want you to be part of my under sixteen soccer team. We're gonna enter the county championships and your skills could be of great use to the team."

He extended his arm out towards me.

"So what do say? You want to be part of it?"

I looked at his hand blankly. I didn't realise I was going to be asked to play for an actual team. But I felt that if I agreed, then people will at least know me for something. I extended my arm out and grabbed the coach's hand and shook it.

"Of course." I replied happily.

The coach gave a broad smile.

"Welcome to the team Sypher." He grinned.
__________________________________________________________

The news of my arrival in the soccer team spread very quickly as I heard my peers whisper the newsflash across the school.

"Hey! Did you hear? Drake Sypher actually got into the soccer team!"

"Really? I always assumed he was too introverted to play such a rough sport."

"Yeah. Some of the guys who watched him play say that he could be better than Anthony Rodden."

"No way! No-one could get better than Anthony Rodden!"

"But some of the guys said he panicked when he was faced with a defender and completely screwed a shot up."

"I heard that Sypher was even gonna be made captain of the team."

I felt the sense of pride as I strolled down the corridor. My pride was put on hold when I saw Sandy again. I bet if she saw me then she would like me or at least talk to me. I decided to approach her, just to say "hi" and see what she says. When she finally noticed me approaching her, I put my hand up to greet her.

"Hi." I said casually. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah. I'm fine." she said. "I heard that you managed to get into a soccer team."

"Yeah." I smiled while scratching the back of my head. "I hope to do my best for the team in the county championships."

"But you of all people." Sandy said in fascination. "I always thought you'd be one of those jerks who hardly speak to anyone and just rudely ignore everyone."

She thought I was a jerk. But now I could just laugh at that response instead of feeling depressed about it.

"Well I guess I'm not then." I laughed.

The school bell suddenly rang as everyone rushed to get into their designated classrooms. Sandy turned to me.

"We got maths next." She told me. "We're in here."

I gave a puzzled expression.

"You mean we're in the same maths group?"

"Of course." Sandy nodded. "We better hurry."

She entered the classroom as I suddenly felt nervous. Girls also like intelligent people. I couldn't be all brawn and no brains. I had to find someone clever enough to absorb their intelligence.

Just then, I heard someone whistling down the corridor. I turned around to find Micheal Grumble. He was the biggest swot in school. He was only interested in reading highly advanced science books and solving complicated sums. He would be the perfect person to borrow his intelligence off. I quickly slipped off my gloves and pushed them down my pockets leaving them bare once more. I stood at the door and waited for him to approach the room. When he finally approached the door, I opened it for him.

"Here you go." I said enthusiastically. "I saw you carry a lot of books and I thought I'd help you carry them through without dropping any."

Giving me a strange glance, he walked through the door.

"Th-Thank you." He said.

"It's no problem." I said as I placed my hand on his shoulder.

I felt the energy flow into me once more until I had it all. Micheal felt his head with one hand but managed to walk to his desk normally after a moment. I quickly slipped my gloves back on again and entered the room casually like nothing happened. As I sat down to my desk, the maths teacher, Mr Moor greeted us with his monotone voice.

"Okay class. Now lets review the answers in page 76, section 4 of algebra." The teacher droned as he pointed to Micheal. "Micheal. Why don't you give us the answer question 1."

Micheal stood up from his chair and walked towards the blackboard. Each step he took, I felt sorry for taking the only thing that he had that served him well. I just hoped that it wasn't too embarrassing for him. As he took the laser pen from Mr Moor, he cleared his throat and began writing the problem down.

"First of all, I'll write both equations down." Micheal declared as he wrote "Equation 1: 2a - 5b = 11" and "Equation 2: 3a + 2b = 7" down on the laserboard.

"Now I will multiply the equation to the appropriate prime numbers. So "4a - 10b = 22" because it is multiplied by 2 and "15a + 10b = 35" as it is multiplied by 5." He continued. "No I will add 15a and 4a together making it 19a, and 35 and 22 together making it 57. So 19a = 57. But we need to find what 'a' is. So we divide 57 by 19 making the total of 3. So therefore, a = 3. Now I will put a = 3 into the equation 3a + 2b = 7. Now 9 + 2b = 7. By working out the equation, 2b = -2. But dividing 2 and -2 equals -1. So b = -1.
And so the answer is a = 3 and b = -1."

"That is indeed correct Micheal. Well done." The teacher nodded his head. "You can sit down now."

"What!?" I thought. "How is it that I managed to absorb his intelligence and he is still working out the sum like a genius? Anthony couldn't play sport properly anymore cos I absorbed his talent. So why isn't it happening to Micheal?"

But as Micheal proudly strolled up to his desk, Mr Moor pointed at me.

"Drake. How about you show the class how to work out question 2." He asked me.

I stood up nervously and strode across the classroom and grabbed the laser pen from the table. And wrote down the equation.

x + y + z = 10
2x - y + z = 2
-x + 2y - z = 5

I gulped as I pressed the pen against the board. But then suddenly, the answers and the working out popped into my head. I suddenly knew how to work the sum out. Wasting no time, I started writing my thoughts down.

"You see," I started confidently. "x + y + z = 10 and -x + 2y - z = 5. I'm going to take out the 'x's amd the 'z's in this case and add the 'y's together. So 2y+y= 3y and 10+5=15. Therefore, 3y = 15. But we need to work out what ''y' is by itself. So we divide 15 by 3 which equals 5. So in this case y = 5. So now we can apply 5 into the equations with 'x' and 'z' in. Now x + 5 + z = 10, x + z = 5, and z = -x + 5." Micheal continued. "Now I'm going to add up the amount of 'x's together which would be 2x into each equation. So 2x - 5 + z = 2, 2x + z = 7, and z = -2x + 7. Now we know that -x + 5 = -2x + 7. And by working out both equations, x = 2. Now to work out 'z' by using that equation we just used. So z = -2(2) + 7 = -4 + 7 = 3. So I can conclude that, x = 2, y = 5, and finally, z = 3."

Everyone in the class gaped in astonishment as Mr Moor nodded his head.

"Well done Drake. That is correct." He said in a pleased tone as I slowly walked towards my desk.

As I sat back down, Sandy smiled at me from my right side of the desk. I realised she must have been impressed with me.

"I didn't realise you were so intelligent." She whispered to me.

I could only smile back at her, thankful that she's starting to appreciate me.

"I guess I worked out the sum alright then." I whispered back.

Chapter 9

After maths was over, I smiled to myself as I walked down the corridor as people stared at me. I knew for a fact that people are going to know me for a good reason. And no-one knows about my ability borrowing powers. I approached my blue locker and turned the dial to open it. I started collecting some of the stuff for my next period until I gathered everything for what I need. Just when I slammed my locker shut, I noticed Sandy was standing next to me. I jumped only a little bit and she probably did the same, being suprised and all that her locker was next to mine. I stared at her with my eyes wide open until I realised that our silence dragged for too long. I started to say something just to break it.

"H-Hi Sandy." I stammered.

"Hi Drake." She said in the same tone as me. "I didn't realise my locker was next to yours."

Whether or not it was fate that was bringing us together, I felt that if I was going to say "got to go", then we might not bump into each other like this again. I had to bring up an interesting conversation.

"Um... Are you doing anything after school Sandy?" I bought out.

"No. I don't think so." She replied. "Why do you ask?"

The ball was in my court again.

"Well... I was wondering if... we could... get something to eat after school together." I stammered again.

"Well-"

Uh-oh! "Well" at the begining of a response is not good. I had to do something.

"It's okay if you don't want to!" I panickly gushed out. "I just wanted to see if-"

"I'd like to."

I paused from my speech.

"You will?"

"Sure." She smiled at me. "If you meet me near the steps, then we could go eat at that sandwich bar that's open. Okay?"

"Yeah. Okay." I nodded enthusiacstically as she shut her locker door.

"See ya there then." She smiled again as she started to walk down the corridor.

As she disappeared from my view, my heart beated faster than it ever did before. But I was happy. She actually wants to go out with me. Well, not on a date. But still, it was a start. As I brung my fist to myslef, I gave myself a "yes" in secret so I didn't bring to much attention. I peered at my watch and realised that I only had a few minutes left before I had to get to literature class. I gave a little shriek as I started running up the opposite way of the corridor.
__________________________________________________________

Finally, the school bell rang to send everyone off home. And that meant that my little trip with Sandy would begin.

As I waited at the steps, I twiddled my thumbs nervously. Everyone else rushed down the steps but I still sat there waiting. As a few minutes passed by, I began having doubts whether the trip would even exist. What if she doesn't turn up? What if she forgot? What if she was here before me and I arrived too late and she decided to go home? All these doubts circled my mind until I heard a gentle voice.

"Hey Drake. Are you ready?"

I snapped out of my thoughts and looked up. I gave a sigh of relief. It was Sandy. Somewhere in my mind I knew she would come. I got up from my spot grinned at her.

"Yeah. Sure." I replied in embarassment as we started walking away from the school.

And for the next few days, I went on more of these little trips with Sandy. We got to know each other more and more each day. We laughed at somethings that we found funny and we found out what we both have in common and what we do differently. The only secret that I haven't told her was about my powers. I could never tell her of them. After what I've managed to build our relationship up to, I don't want it all to crumble down to square one.

But in the end, it did. And she didn't even find out my powers.

It all ended in a week when I decided to finally confess my love to her. I was walking down the corridor with warm and happy feelings inside me. I felt like I was on top of the world and no-one could stop me. Just then I saw Sandy in the distance. I called her name and waved to her as I ran towards her. Sandy seemed to have heard me because she turned around. I saw her bring a smile on her face. So she must have saw me. As I finally stopped in front of her, she gave a giggle. I gave her a broad smile but I remembered the real reason why I wanted to go to her. I drew my breath and hoped for the best.

"Um... Sandy. I have something to tell you." I startd to stammered nervously as she carefully listened.

"What is it Drake?" She asked.

"Um... You know we've been going out for some time now." I started. "And I know how we got know each other and all."

I gulped. She still listened. So I continued.

"I... You're a really nice girl. And I mean it. It's just... I love you."

Sandy blinked.

"What?"

"I mean it." I stuttered. "I love everything about you and everytime I see you, I always think how beautiful you are and my heart beats so restlessly and I just really love you. And I just wanted to know whether we could be together as a couple."

My hand floated up to hers and I held it. It felt so alive. I couldn't believe I was doing this. And I was hoping that she would accept my feelings and we could be an item together. Sandy's mouth began to open as I waited for her response.

"Drake. You really are a nice guy." She started. "And I like you too."

But then she looked down sadly.

"But I'm sorry. I can't do it."

She slipped her hand away from me. My face turned agast as it also dropped.

"But why?" I uttered. "Did I do something wrong? Is it too early for that?"

"No." Sandy shook her head. "I just don't think I could go out with someone like you. You are nice, but I just don't think you're my type."

"We could work it out!" I started stammer again. "We could make it work!"

"I'm sorry Drake." She apologised. "It just wouldn't work. I don't think we should see each other anymore."

She then started to walk forward away from me. Tears started to well up in my eyes. I couldn't believe this was happenning. After what we've done together, this was happening. I raised my hand out to her.

"Sandy, please." I begged.

Sandy stopped and only turned her head in response to his cry.

"I'm sorry Drake. It just can't work. But it's not your fault."

She started to walk away and turn the corner. I fell to my knees as tears rolled down my cheeks. I know I should have moved on since I've experienced rejection so many times before. But Sandy was special. She was too special to be forgotten. I decided to try and convince her one more time to see if I could pick up from where we left off.

I stood up and I ran to the corner to see if I could catch up with Sandy. But Just as I approached the corner, I stopped. My eyes widened and my jaw dropped. There she was standing at the door with another guy. But he wasn't just any guy. He was Sam! My brother! After all this time and she never told me about him!? I stayed hidden at the corner where I stood as I spied on them. They seemed to be talking. Maybe it was just innocent I first thought. They started to laugh. Again, I thought nothing of it. But what I saw stopped calling their situation innocent. Their faces drew closer together until finally their lips locked each other into a kiss. I gasped.

How could Sam, my younger brother steal the love of my life away from me!? That heartless bastard who I call my sibling, kissing the girl that I got to first! I had enough of seeing the evidence. I ran from the corner and ran in the opposite direction towards the exit.

Once I pushed the doors open I ran towards the bike sheds and slid down the wall to sit down so I could sulk and cry about what I have seen. My brother kissing my girlfriend to be was the most disgusting sight I've ever seen. Not only was I sad, I was enraged. I could not believe this was happening.

It was only half an hour later that I calmed down from crying. Instead, I was comtemplating my future. I wasn't gonna be treated like this. One day, everyone will respect me and then she'll have to beg for mercy. I am going to show the world that I'm not just some loser or reject. I am going to do everything to get the respect I truly deserve. Even if it means taking other people's abilities, I didn't care for nothing else but good attention and respect. With my powers, I will get everyone to like me. That Sam and Sandy would have wished they never messed eith me in the first place. I will get the respect that I want...

Epilogue

And so I did. I threw away the gloves that protected people from me and I stole all the good abitlities I could to be the best. But I still wasn't well known enough to be popular. But when that meteor crashed onto Earth and granted some people superpowers in 2772, that gave me more oppotunities to become something much bigger and better than just playing sports.

And thanks to the high profile of the Loonatics saving the world, I knew who to get. They didn't know what hit them when I came along. They looked so pathetic without their powers. I couldn't help but laugh at how naive they were. Stupid dumb animals. They pratically let me take their powers and I got the attention I truly deserved. But all good things never last long. It never does. They took their powers back and I was arrested. And to make things worse, I had to wear a pair of gloves where they neutralised my powers again.

And so that's how I ended up in this prison cell. That's how I lost everything. At our second confrontation before I was defeated, I proclaimed that I used to start the same way as them. Poor pathetic losers in one room. Failures of families that either kept them to help them grow or abandoned them because of their worthlessness. But at that time, we became something great, or I did for a moment. And let me tell you, I was not going to go back to square one. I was not going to be pointed and laughed at by people who only saw me as a nobody. I was not gonna take that crap anymore.

But now, as I gaze down onto the floor in my prison cell, I found myself feeling the same emotions as when I first used my powers against my poor brother. Sad, scared, unsure of bizarre events unfolding around me, small. I have now lost it all. I was back at square one again.

The prison officer's steps echoed down the corridor. In his blue uniform, he carried an envelope in his hand as he appraoched a particular cell. He stopped at the door and checked to see if the cell number was correct.

Cell 342.

Knowing he got the right cell, the officer pressed a red button on the door to create a buzz. The silver haired figure inside the cell tilted his head up in response to the buzzing noise and frowned.

"What do you want?" The prisoner mumbled.

"Mr Drake Sypher, you have some mail here." The prison officer told him as he slipped the envelope through a small flap in the door so the letter dropped into the cell.

The prisoner stood up from his bed and shuffled his feet to the letter on the floor. He picked it up and tore the envelope to get to the letter inside. He only scanned the piece of paper for a few seconds.

The prison officer was about to walk away from the cell when he suddenly heard some banging from the from the cell he slipped the letter through.

"It's not fair! It's not fair!" Drake yelled from inside the cell, banging the door. "I should be the one out there! Not him!"

"Calm down." The officer spoke firmly.

"No! You listen to me!" Drake snarled at the officer. "I should be the one who should get all the attention from everyone! I have powers so I have to be famous! It's not fair that he gets everything he wants and not me! It's not fair! It's not fair!"

"I don't know what you're talking about. Just calm down." The officer exhaled and left the cell.

Drake could hear the footsteps fading away from where he banged the door.

"How dare you leave me!" He shouted. "I hate you! It's not fair! I hate you! I didn't do a thing wrong and you treat me like ****! I hate you, you stupid bastard!"

After he cursed at nothing, he wandered to his bed and lied down on it and whimpered. He wrapped his arms around his knees in a foetus position as hot tears rolled down his red cheeks.
____________________________________________________________

All I ever wanted was to be loved. I didn't care who as long as someone loved me. Now no-one likes me. I'll never be loved. I'll never be able to be loved by another person again. Maybe you love me. Do you love me? You'd love a lonely person like me, will you?

THE END.

That last chapter was kinda sad, though. It makes me almost kinda feel sorry for him. I'd hug him, but then he might steal something from me.

Cassidy: weirdface.gif Over-awsomeness syndrome? Is there even a illness like that or something. aww.gif But thanks. I liked how he suddenly decided that the only way he though was to get the best attention was to steal as much as he could from people and take credit for the good things he done. And I made you feel sorry for him. aww.gif I'd hug him too. But only if he is wearing the gloves.

Doggirl: aww.gif Thanks. I like the last dialogue part there too. Like he's reaching out to grab ya or something. Well, not grab you. Just wanting a hug. And thanks once again.
