I definately dont think me and Earth_master are the only gun lovers here. So I wanted to make a topic for general gun discussion, so who else has a passion for weapons? And do you have some favorites?

I also added this little pole about the two most famous gun rivals there are, the M16 and AK-47, which are you backing up?

AK-47 vs M16

I voted for the AK, because it was cheap, durable, simple, and sufficient. Thats just what you need if your in a hellish enviroment like the vietnam war, fighting an enemy with more funding and education than you. Plus the M16 was so flimsy and unreliable. It was abit more accurate, but what good is that if your ambushed by viet-cong soldiers, that jump up from a bush three feet away from you?




Now, my favorite is the AK-74, ignore the main picture of the black AK, it isnt a real AK-74 as its made of composite materials. Its my favorite because it is the perfect gun all around. The AK-47 is already viewed by most as the worlds best fire-arm, but it has two drawbacks, Recoil, and accuracy.

The AK-74 uses 5.45 MM bullets instead of 7.62 MM bullets like the AK-47. This eliminates the recoil problem caused by the whopping 7.62 MM bullets. The AK-74 is also accurate up to 500 meters, which is 200 meters more than
the AK-47.

Its also still retains all the AK-47s qualities, like cheapness, simplicity, and durability. All Kalashnikovs weapons are famous for this. So the AK-74 is Nr.1 to me.
