Chapter 1: A Night Alone
Wolf jostled about in his bed, tossing and turning all about. It was dark and rainy outside his small base. The tatting sound that the raindrops made against his window soothed his troubled mind somewhat. There was a small light in the next room that annoyed the lupine with its constant flickering. On and off. On and off.
He slammed his fist on the bed, causing the sheets to float in the air for a bit until they gently laid back down on the bed. He finally snapped and grabbed his Desert Eagle, shooting two bullets at the light. He set his gun back on the end table and stared at the clock. 3:20 AM. He growled in frustration as he wasn't able to get any sleep. The thing was, his bedroom was the only place he felt he should be, so he didn't want to talk to see any of his comrades.
He slowly sat up on the edge of his bed, looking out of the window. Tat tat tat. Tat tat tat. The sound relaxed him. He suddenly went into deep thought. A muffled ringing sound hit his eardrum. He looked around, confused as to what was making the sound. He sighed as he finally knew what it was. He lifted his rump and grabbed the cell phone he was accidentally sitting on. He flipped it open and brought it to his ear.
"..." Wolf remained silent as he waited for the other person to speak.
"...Wolf...?" the voice said. It was Fox.
"Yes...?" he replied.
"Umm...... You can't sleep?"
"...Why are you talking to me now...?"
"I'm...sorry, Wolf... It was my fault. Really," Fox massaged his forehead.
Wolf sighed, smiling a little.
"Forget it. Look, do you just want me to come over? We're both awake with nothing to do, right?" Wolf said as he got up to get his jacket and pants.
"...Please?" Fox made a stupid smile, although Wolf wasn't able to see it.
"Already on it... I'll be there in a minute," he hung up, grabbing an outfit and his gun before leaving.
Wolf hurried to his car, his coat over his head. He didn't bother to bring his eye scanner this time, since Fox once said he looked a bit silly with it on up close. He got in and flipped the ignition, taking off into the night. He pressed the buttons for the CD Player and put in a Disturbed CD to hold him over until he got to his love's house. He soon arrived, looking at the fairly rich house Fox had.
Fox was slowly starting to nod off on the couch before he heard a knocking sound. His ears perked as the noise woke him again. Answering the door, he saw Wolf staring blankly at him. Without a word, Fox stepped aside, letting him in. Wolf stepped forward, a bit soaked as Fox shut the door.
Fox took off Wolf's jacket for him, setting it in the laundry room.
"I'll wash this for you..." Fox said.
"Thanks," he smiled down at him.
"Umm... Wolf... I have some...news for you," he said as he wrapped his arms around his waist, slightly looking up at him.
Wolf just raised an eyebrow, wrapping an arm around Fox as well. "And...?"
"Now, before you say anything...promise me that you won't get mad..."
"...I'm listening..." he placed his hand on the back of Fox's head, smiling a little.
Fox smiled back. "I'm...pregnant..."
Wolf let out a slight gasp, his eye widening and his face expressing total shock.
"Y...You're...p-pregnant...?" Wolf managed to say without fainting.
Fox smiled and nodded, showing deep love for him in his eyes. He somehow knew Wolf wasn't going to freak.
Wolf's shocked expression slowly smiled brightly.
"Haha...! That...That's wonderful! Oh my god, Fox...!" Wolf suddenly pulled him in and kissed him deeply, embracing him in his arms.
Wolf pulled away and looked down at Fox's belly, not noticing any changes.
"How come you don't look any different...?"
"Hehe, it just started, silly!" Fox playfully nudged him.
"I...I don't know what to say..." Wolf shed a tear as he hugged Fox gently.
"Wolf..." Fox muttered, hugging him back and nuzzling his chest.
