My favorite is Mossflower. Gonff is the definition of Epic! And then I saw Reepicheep in that Caspian movie.........I seem to have some sort of weird obbsession over talking, swashbuckling mice.......O_o

And yes, the hares in Redwall are really funny. I think hares and otters are the funniest in there but Gonff has such a happy-go-lucky, loyal, funny personality he immediatly became a fave ^_^

I've always passed Redwall by at the bookstore. -ponders- Perhaps I should read it eventually after this crazy summer has passed. After all, I gave Warriors a chance and fell in love with it. =3
Warriors? Never read it. But if you like warriors give warrior mice a chance. X3
I highly recomend Mossflower as your first one. ^_^

Legend of Luke, Pearls of Lutra, Mattieteo, Mariel of Redwall, The Bellmaker, Rakkety Tam, Triss, High Rhulien, The Taggarung (my personal favourite) and others as well like Brian's other novels, "Castaways of the Flying Dutchman" and "The Angel's commard" and The Ribbajack.

Okay I can, My first love was Denya from "The Taggarung" It was the first book of Redwall I read and I fell in love with it. I also like Lord Brocktree too from "Lord Brocktree"
My favorite villians are Ungatt Trun, Badrang, Cluny and Slagar.

Brioan Jaques is an effin genius with how he creates his villians characters! They're the vermin you jsut love to hate. From the diabolical evil leaders right down to the thickheaded numbskulls that they boss around. XD
The Outcast of Redwall was my first book. For a while Skarlath and the two twin otters Sunflash runs into were my favorites. Then I read Redwall and liked Basil Stag Hare. Finally I read Mossflower and absolutely fell in love with Gonff! Ingenius, amazing character! He is now my fave far none! ^_^
Fave character so far: Gonff Skipper Basil Stag Hare Skarlath Martin Dinny Mattias Warbeak Foremole Beau Tarquin L. Woodserall Grumm And I forgot the twin otters names. ^_^;

The only thing I don't like about Redwall is the one-sideness of the villains. With the exception of one rat in Triss, pretty much every rat, snake, ferret, etc. is a villain and squirrels, hares and mice are heros. What's with that?
And there have been some bad good animals. Like that shrew from Mattimeo.
They aree one sided beacuse....well....think about it. Mice and cats, moles and stoats, squirrels and foxes. Prey and Predator. You can see where sides are picked. But I'm working on a Redwall fanfic where there are a group of outcast vermin who are godd and help protect Mossflower from a horde of lizards.

I think that was one of the reasons Brian gave for choosing vermin as the bad guys. I can't remember the rest of the reasons, I read them on a newsletter from the Redwall club. *Goes hunting for newsletter*
