I know there are a lot of Jonas Brothers and Hannah Montana fans out here, and I just need to know... why?
Everywhere I see rabid fans, I always get confused. As a rabid anti-fan, I never truly figured out why people found them so awesome. For example, the Jonas Brothers aren't really that great. I was at a festival where they played Jonas Brothers, and I swear that, except for the lyrics, it seems like they were playing a 20-minute song instead of 8 3-minute songs. DX
So my question to fans: what about people like the Jonas Brothers and Hannah Montana makes them so "cool" and "awesome?" And to anti-fans: care to speak out against them with me?
Well you can't really ask why, because what music or any kind of entertainment sounds or feels like is different from person to person. You can only say what you yourself do, or do not like.
Sexuality is actuelly a perfect example. Now your not attracted to women for example, I am. So let's say a beautiful young blond woman came down the street in some revealing clothes. I'm drewling like a bulldog and about to fly after her like a mad man, and your not, because you don't feel the physical attraction I do.
So I find her a beauty, while you see nothing speacil. Whos to say whos opinions is the true one?
It's the same with music, movies, colors, art, everything. People can still explain what kind of elements they like, but they won't be able to explain why they like these elements, unless they break it down even more.
Example:
Person 1: I really love the movie Hook.
Person 2: Why?
Person 1: Well it had alot of comedy and adventure.
Person 2: Why do you like comedy and adventure, why not blood and gore?
Probably because they're mostly American sensations. They're probably have little to no popularity in Europe and I find that Europeans have a more advanced taste in music anyway.
I just don't get why everyone's treating them both like they're so amazing. They both can sing, I'll give them that, but the material is just..... meh.
I'm not big on Hanna Montanna... And I've never heard of the Jonas Brothers until I came onto these here forums... Mostly from Rye and Style...
I dunno... I think she's good in the sense that her material is directed to the younger generation... Which means that they'll listen to that... Instead of songs about sex and gang wars and shizznit.
In my opinion, there needs to be MORE teen boppy singers... Coz my 10-year-old step sister is sitting here listening to Eminem...
I remember when I was that age, I had things like 5ive and Aaron Carter and Nikki Webster. They weren't great, but they were great for people of that age. Because their songs were relatively innocent.
Now-a-days, there're hardly any boy bands and such, and if there ARE, they're singing about banging someone. D:
Although I'm not big on Hanna Montanna, I'd rather the younger generation to listen to her rather than someone like Rhianna or the Veronicas.

I was a Backstreet Boys girl when I was 9 or 10. But when I was six it was straight up Genesis for me. I loved them back then. And I still do now really.
But now in addition to that I listen to loads and LOADS of metal. (And some other stuff that's not metal). But seriously. Lots of metal.
Doesn't really relate to Backstreet Boys that much.
I'm like so not a fan of Miley Cyrus! Hate her acting and her singing! And her wardrobe? *gasp* Don't get me started! Besides she only gets to hang out with the Jonas Brothers cause she just needs them for people to watch her show! Same with the other stars who guest starred in Hannah Montana!
Sorry for the Miley fans out there!
Please don't get angry at me. I said sorry!

I agree with the other anti-fans. I don't really see the 'greatness' in either the Jonas Bros. or Hanna Montanna/Miley Cyrus. Not cuz of the clothes, not cuz of the rumors, not cuz of their voices (they are pretty good singers. I'll give them that.) but because of the songs. Dunno why, but I really don't like the Jonas Bros at all. And Hanna Montanna? Eh, I used to listen to her, but I ain't that much of a fan now-a-days. I can't even watch her show anymore.
Sorryz to all the fans out there, but I like to speak my mind at times.
I might as well be honest, because I feel like venting.
The Jonas Bros does absolutely, positively nothing for me. I mean, I don't find their music bad per se - it doesn't make me cringe, like other bands such as Cannibal Corpse, Limp Bizkit and Insane Clown Posse would - but I get absolutely nothing from it. Whenever I listen to one of their songs, all I can think of is "AVERAGE POP SONG." And I pretty much think this for every song I hear by them. I get bored of it pretty fast. Not to mention, talent and technical ability wise, all of their music is pretty simple and rather plain. All they play is power chords, which is really, really easy. But I don't necessary rate music based on technical talent.
Though I saw their performance on American Idol and they didn't have their guitars plugged in nor were there any amps on stage. So basically they were just air-playing everything, and probably lip-syncing too. That kind of pisses me off. Actually, I don't ever recall seeing amps on stage when they play ever. Do they ALWAYS air-guitar everything? That's pretty bad.
But overall my attitude towards Jonas Brothers is pretty much nothing. Except I'm only a tad bit resentful that they're so popular when there's so many other better bands out there.
Hannah Montana, on the other hand, I have more of a beef with. While I'm pretty much indifferent to The Jonas Bros music as a whole, I flat-out dislike most of her songs. Not in that they sound bad, but because they irritate me. Her singing, to me, is plain, her music is pretty stereotypical for your average Disney channel 'rockstar' teen-bopper, and moreover she amounts to little more than a trend. Five years from now, no one will care about her anymore - in comparison to the attention she gets now, anyway.
All apologies to anyone who likes either, I'm not judging you based on what you like, but I had to get that out in the air.
Honestly? I don't like the Jonas Brothers, at all. And it's actually not because of them - it's because of their fanbase, and the way they're ruining Fanfiction.net. Seriously! Even before Camp Rock reared its ugly head, kids were writing fanfiction about the actual Jonas Brothers where the boys would all fall in love with the same girl (who usually had a dark and/or mysterious past, by the way). And that just ticks me off to no end because 1) the Disney section has actually been swamped with this crap, and 2) in my opinion, fanfiction should be limited to fictional people. When you start writing mary sue stories or (even worse) slash stories about existing people, THAT'S when things get creepy.

*listening to Aaron Carter house parteh song*Aaaaaaaaarrrrrrrroooooonnnnnnnnn.......*drools*
Yea, I don't like them much either.Guess everyone has their own opinion.
I honestly think it's just another fad, like Brittney Spears (earlier in her career) and the Backstreet Boys. As soon as the hype dies down, a bunch of the fans are gonna snap out of it like a trance and not realize why they used to like them either.
Hannah didn't really have any songs that really hit me but the Jonas Bros had "The Year 3000." It had a catchy tune and stupid lyrics, my kinda song. But nothing else really had an "OOOMPH" too it.

Okay. I'm not into the Jonas Brothers anymore. Actually I'm into Boys Like Girls and Simple Plan now. I know that this is definitely super late but I just want to give my opinion. Cause I think I wasn't clear in my previous post.
Jonas Brothers. Now that I look back they made great songs but that was the past. Present time I don't like their songs. I know this seems weird but it looks like they've been sweating everytime they sing a new song. I know it's weird okay? And it kinda creeps me out. Especially their new song "Tonight" I'm not really feeling it. It seems a bit crappy. No offense to JBros fans though. But I still think Nick and Joe are hott. As for their movies. They suck. Like Camp Rock it seems so childish and pathetic. The story doesn't make any sense, and have you even seen the way Demi Lavato acted when she was singing? She's acting "all that" when she's absolutely not. She can't dance. When I saw the movie and it was the "Final Jam" or something when she started to get real energetic she just got worse and worse as she dances in a weird way that makes me wanna puke. So I don't hate the Jonas Brothers, I just don't like them anymore. But they're still okay for me. It's Demi Lavato who I hate. She can't act.
Hannah Montana. Never liked her and never will. Her songs are crap, her singing voice sounds like she's just talking and and she's wearing a stupid wig. And in her new season she looks like she has oily skin. Especially when she's Hannah Montana. She's better off as Miley Cyrus. But on very rare occasions I like her songs but then get over it. Again no offense to HM/MC fans out there. When I see her commercials where she's in a concert it seems like nonsense. The dance is weird and so are her outfits as Hannah Montana. And her song "It's All Right Here" I saw that her fans are teenagers probably 14 and above. So I'm just as confused as you are. I dunno why they like/love her. I admit that she can dance but the dance steps it seems like it's fit for children under the age of 10. Whenever I see her face on a bag or shirt or whatever in the department store I see that it's for very young children. I hate Hannah Montana the show, the girl, everything. But sometimes I admit I enjoy some of her episodes but most of them are nonsense. Her Hannah Montana songs are crap. They don't give that feeling that makes me love it or even dance to it. I hate country music alright? That's why I absolutely loathe her songs as Hannah Montana and sometimes as Miley Cyrus. Plus the whole Hannah Montana thing is weird. First of all could they please change the hairball thing that they call a wig? It just weird. And so not cool or stylish. And her Hannah Montana outfits are too country for me. I don't even know why she has fans. Her songs are stupid and her clothes make me wanna puke but it looks like somebody already did.
ABSOLUTELY NO OFFENSE TO THEIR FANS. Be glad it's not you I'm talking about okay? Peace.

This is the Controversy area, though. You can say whatever you like here without really having to worry. XD
My turn. 8D
Miley Cyrus and The Jonas Brothers are more or less "meh." To be honest, I don't like listening to either, particularly Miley's "twangy" accent. One of the Jonas Brothers sounds really whiny to me as well, but whatever.
I can't really say I hate them, but I would prefer to never hear of/listen to them.
Besides, they're geared to the younger bracket, and are pretty much a marketing gimmick aimed at youngsters. It's working pretty well though, I'll admit. XD

Oh? Okay. XD

The Jonas Brothers jack off in each others mouths while Miley watches. Whatever spills gets mixed with Fanta, which they all guzzle together. It was on TMZ, breh.
The Jonas Brothers are....okay. If they went a bit more hard rock I think I might listen to their stuff more, but they're voices are quite squeaky at places - I don't know how to describe it - but it's weird....
Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montanna really bugs me. Miley talks bad about everyone, and is really being 'anti-Disney' I mean, she's acting like a whore and is being really bitchy to everyone!
"...It's all so dispicable..."

The Jonas Brothers... can't sing... can't act... can't do fricking ANYTHING. Twenty years from now, the kids are going to look back on them, and laugh.
Hannah Montana... UGH. You'd think she'd get better when she stepped away from Disney, but she just got WORSE. Seriously, if I heard "Start All Over" one more time, I would've smashed every radio in town.
