Raise your hand now, whose tired of bland, overly perfect, angst ridden OCs?
Well I've found the answer OCs based on Homestar Runner characters!
I've created the Homestar-Stu and Strong Bad-Stu (note that I put Stu not Sue as there are way too many female OCs and not enough male ones)
I will use the worlds of LU and Batman (particuly Batman villains) as examples of how canon characters react to the Stus I objective is to create the anthisis of the perfect girl/guy that everyone loves and replace that with throughly annoying but uproarishly funny and entertaining pest!
First the Homestar Stu: Homestar Stu is a througly oblivious twit. Childish and seeking attention he seeks to be best friends with the canon characters but the other characters hate his guts for various reasons and may attempt murder on the Homestar Stu (Batman Villains seem more likely to this as I can't see the 'tics getting riled up enough to kill someone) However like Harley Quinn the Homestar Stu seems to dodge all murder attempts and continues in his quest to be best friends with the CCs. One reason the characters hate the Homestar Stu so much is that freaquently breaks into their livings spaces (Loonatics HQ for LU/ Batcave or villain's lair for Batman) and 'borrows' their stuff without asking (He often 'visits' his 'friends' when they are not home

Here is the Strong Bad Stu!
Strong Bad Stu: This character is a bit more complex than the Homestar Stu. Arrogant, vain and full of himself the Strong Bad Stu is like the midget who goes against giants and the self satified boor who thinks himself irresitable to the oppisite sex.
The Strong Bad Stu unlike the Homestar Stu is selective in whom he torments. He finds one particular canon character who gets under his skin and either verbally or physically torments him/her
(Unless the Strong Bad Stu has super powers himself this may be difficult for him to harass the Loonatics as with their super powers they could easily beat the tar out anyone trying to harass them. However this situation could be good with the character of Rip Runner who is both powerless and persumably still in school. Of the 'tics, the ones most vunerable to such an assult in my opinion is Duck or Lexi)
Strong Bad Stu is not really evil, but just mean spirited and spiteful, this is wear some genuine character delelopment can begin. As with the real character of Strong Bad, the Stu may bully others to compansate for deep rooted insecurities and his methods with which he bullies canon characters can have hilarious results!
One way he could humiliate even characters with super powers is to spred visious rumors about them. (Some of these rumors may be PG rated or higher depending on how far you're willing to go)

Strong Bad Stu part 2: Moving along with the Strong Bad Stu's character I've already addressed that this particular OC has deep-rooted insecurities and compensates for them by bullying other people well now the author can put on his/her thinking cap and try to explain his past let's find out what makes this guy tick!
The Strong Bad Stu has told many a blantant lie espesily about his love life and sexual prowess but he sometimes tells the truth. This character may indeed have had some suscess with the ladies (or guys if that's how the author wants him to swing) but may have had some tragic ordeal happan in his life. He may even feel guilty about something he had done in his life (Go wild with what this is I.E. Killed someone, took illeagal drugs, was a prostitute etc etc) if the Strong Bad Stu dose feel guilty make sure it is something that is most definitly HIS fault! One of the most annoying things about Mary Sues is their tendency to feel guilty about things that aren't their fualt. The Strong Bad Stu may be pig-headed but he's not stupid he would never feel guilty about something that wasen't his fault.
And finaly in spite of the intense bitter rivalry between the Strong Bad Stu and the Canon character he torments after many long bitter fights there may come a moment that one or both of the characters may relize they had more in common than either of them thought and decide they can be friends
If this defining moment ever happans it shoulden't be a cheap 'oh I guess you're not so bad after all' it should be a great dramatic moment in which the characters reveal sides to each other neither one saw before.
Senario 1, The Self Sacrifice: In this senario the Strong Bad Stu and the Canon character find themselves both trapped in a life theatning situation and either one or the other sacrifices themselves to save the other (the self-sacrifice should not end in death becuase than the two characters can't be friends afterward it should either end in intense(but recoverable) pain or humiliation)
The situation varies slightly weather it is the canon character or the Strong Bad Stu who sacrifices himself
1, If the canon character saves the Stu, it opens the Stu's eyes and forces him to relize the error of his ways. Within the Context of LU this senario seems more logical as the 'tics are heroes and woulden't let someone die even if that person had made them miserable.
2, If the Stu saves the Canon character, it would redeem him in the eyes of the canon characters and to the readers it also illistrates that the Strong Bad Stu dose indeed have a heart and is not evil despite his bullying behavior. One reason he may sacrifice himself is becuase he remembers the thing he did wrong in his past and sacrifices himself to atone for it.
Senario 2, The Secret Discovered: In this senario, the canon character finds out (albeit without the Strong Bad Stu knowing) Just how rough his life was in the past or the terrible thing he did and just how bad he feels about it and tries to help the Strong Bad Stu
OK well it seems the Strong Bad Stu deviates away from the actual character of Strong Bad but you get the idea
Since no one is bothering to reply or comment on the character ideas that I worked so very hard to create I'm assuming you don't care about what I have to say or you simply don't like me anymore.
Well since no one replyed last time you all have to suffer through anouther Homestar Runner based Gary Stu. This time the Senor Cargage Stu!
The Senor Cardgage Stu is the personifaction of the creepy old man achytype, This demented figure addresses everyone with random girl's names regardless of their true name or gender.
It's not that we're interested or don't like you anymore. Sometimes we can't find the words to comment on the topics.
But just to make you happy, I understand what you're talking about. The types of Gary-Stus or Mary-Sues. That is a pretty interesting analysis. I never really thought about them that way.
