Based off vocal samples from singer/voice actress, SAKI FUJITA, Hatsune Miku is the first well-known singing synthesizer application (otherwise known as VOCALOID) to ever be created. If it weren't for the YAMAHA and CRYPTON Corporations, Miku and other VOCALOIDS including Meiko, Kaito,  Len Kagamine, and Rin Kagamine would never have existed.

Miku's expressive (though not well-trained) voice and adorable appearance has caused an uproar in the Anime community with the help of the Japanese video site Nico Nico Douga and THIS SONG:


Eventually I learned of Hatsune Miku on the 5th of January. At the time I was in a rut of depression and didn't want to be bothered by anime or Japan at all. I remember I was looking up new bands on Youtube, hoping for some kind of emo sound to spark my interests...Then I found THIS.

I have a slight understanding of the Japanese language, so I could hear the lyrics and..well, I gotta say it's really touching. So, when I looked into it I was seriously shocked to learn that Miku was NOT a living, breathing human being like most vocalists are! That, I think, is enough to get me interested even in the WORST states of depression!

Suffice to say...it was Hatsune Miku, a nonliving enity whose personality was created only by its fans with a voice that's entirely synthetic, that helped me through probably the roughest time of my life.

ANYWAY, because Miku isn't a living person I can forgive her untrained voice! Besides, she sounds downright ADORABLE. The reason why I'm showing you this Vocaloid is to have more people to squee with over her.
