The Evil Lightning?

This is something that's been bothering me since I first saw Weathering Heights... about a day ago. Xd


Anyway, it's obvious Paula/Weathervane had her powers before being struck by lightning... so why did she go all supervillain? The answer is...

EVIL LIGHTNING.

The lightning transferred its evil-ness into Weathervane, thus making her... evil.

Okay as you've said, Paula Haze maybe got her powers after the meteor came. But I don't think it's evil lightning.

If you've noticed in the episode, Paula Haze was being treated like crap. Mysti Breeze told her she couldn't present the weather, her colleague didn't back her up, Mysti poured coffee all over her head, and she was just getting fed up of being treated like dirt. At least she got her screen time on camera. But all that anger that was built up inside of Paula, was finally released when that bolt of lightning struck her. Thus, not only giving her more power, but her mind was also either scrambled so she became evil, or she was normal but then said enough was enough and used them for her own beneift. Her evil coming out was like shaking up a fizzy drink's can or bottle and finally opening it to let rip.

I think that's more of a realistic theory than "evil lightning", but it does sound funny.

I think LU as a whole extends outside the realms of realism. So I'm just tempted to say it was evil lightning, mostly because that's farking awesome.

I can see what you mean, Akira. The lightning could have easily been the last straw, and driven her over the edge. I'd be pretty mad if I survived getting struck by lightning after all of that. Xd But I gave my argument for two reasons: 1) to address why she all of a sudden became evil and 2) because I thought it was funny. XD

And now, I offer an equally absurd counter-point; if it weren't evil lightning, why would her hair grow and change color, and why would her skin turn blue?

It's definitely the evil lightning. When it electrocuted her, it altered her so thoroughly that it not only turned her evil, but also changed her color scheme, clothing and hair length.

Also, since we're talking about Weathering Heights, I just wanted to point out that Tech looked very angry despite whining in a nasally voice. Which I personally thought was adorable.

Suddenly, everything makes sense! O_O

Evil-lightning is truly the root of ALL evil! I suspect it even got Optimatus, resulting in him trying to take over Freleng and stuff. XD

Why else would he decide to rejoin Zadavia and peacefully rule Freleng? The evil lightning's evil effects wore off.

Dude. I know this evil lightning theory is sound because it’s too funny not to be. \8D/

Does this hypothesis cover ALL fandoms, or just LU? Because the idea of Jafar from ‘Aladdin’ being hit by evil lightning makes me LOL so effing hard. XD

I was a part of a similar fan-board waaaay back. XD Just use an animated GIF and your image can be animated. ^^

As for evil lightning being everywhere... MOST DEFINITELY! XD

Because now that I think of it, any number of villains being struck by evil lightning makes me roffle. xD

Another weather issue.........did anyone notice in Comet Cometh Lexi says "Great. A ham storm and me without my umbrella."

She said it as if it happened often.....ham stroms.....0.o

Did Rip get struck by the evil lightning? I think there's the one exception. O_o Neither he nor the parasite were evil; the parasite was just trying to help Rip accomplish his goals, and Rip was going about his plans the wrong way.

Now I'm bummed that not every villainous character got struck by evil lightning. D:

Well... Rip never got struck by lightning. If you remember the episode "Family Business", there was a delivery boy who got possessed by that thing as well as Rip. Tech explained to Ace that the parasite gives it's host telekinetic powers, based on their deepest darkest desires. Rip's desire was to be part of the "family business" but was never accepted by his father cos he prefered Rev to inherit it. Once Rip put that parasite on him, he was taken over by it.

Guuuuys, there's a huge lightning storm heading this way. We can now test the theory of evil lightning! When it falls upon my place at last, I shall go stand outside and see if it strikes me and makes me evil! -cough- ...I'm gonna go now. XD

Also, the odds of being struck by evil lightning are slightly lower than being struck by regular lightning. So 9 lightning strikes out of 10, you're just going to get electrocuted. But that last one... >:D
