I was in 6th grade when it happened, back at Dean Middle School. I didn't even *know* about it until the very end of the school day, when the principal announced it over the intercom. To be honest, I don't remember being that frightened or saddened. I guess I just didn't really understand the severity of it until later.
Later that day I remember it was taking over every channel, but I still had to do copious amounts of homework, which pissed me off.
Lots of pro-America commercials followed soon after.
I was living in California at the time. I was getting ready for school when my parents called me over to the TV to watch the second plane crashing into the towers. I was just 11 or so at the time, but at school that day my teacher practically convinced everyone that it was the apocalypse. She freaked me out more than the actual calamity. -nod-
