Loonatics - The 7th Loonatic

Chapter 1

Danger Duck avoided the energy blast.  He had been training in the combat room for hours trying to beat Ace's score.  "If I can upshot that gosh darned rabbit,” he muttered, throwing an "egg" at a simulated soldier. "Maybe I can finally take my place as leader!"  He snatched a pistol off the wall and destroyed 3 soldiers with concentrated ion beams.  "Boy, Tech sure knows how to make the best toys!"  He blew on the mouth over the pistol to cool off the rising steam.

 

Meanwhile, Tech E Coyote was in a room next to the combat area monitoring Danger's stats and score.  "Keep up the good work, Danger!"  He commented to the orange suited avian.  "A few more hours and you'll possibly pass my score!"  He chuckled softly at the joke he made before continuing on with his work.

Suddenly, a red flash arrived into the room.  It was Rev Runner, Tech's friend and fellow Loonatic.  "UhTech, AcewantstoseeyaandDangerrightaway.  Bigemergency!"  He babbled at an incredibly fast pace. Before Tech could say anything, Rev disappeared in another red flash.  "Hm.  I wonder what's going on this time."  Tech turned and pressed a few buttons on a control panel.  "Ok Danger,” He said to the avian, "Playtime's over.  Time to work!"  Danger groaned and dropped the pistol as the simulation disappeared.  "What did I say about treating my "babies?!” yelled Tech.  Danger sighed, rolled his eyes, and placed the pistol back on the wall.

 

"Gather, Loonatics.  This is an emergency!"  Zadavia announced on the main screen of the Loonatics' base, which was positioned in the center of Acmetropolis.  The Loonatics gathered around the main lobby to learn about their assignment.  "It seems Mastermind and Black Velvet are attacking the Acmetropolis orphanage!  You've got to stop them!"  Ace Bunny, the Loonatics’ leader, approached the screen and smiled.  "Were on our way!"  He said.  As the screen turned off, Ace turned to the rest of the Loonatics.  "Loonatics!" he shouted.  "Let's jet!"

 

Meanwhile, Mastermind and Black Velvet were ripping the Acmetropolis orphanage apart brick by brick while children and staff members were running away from them.  "Ugh!"  Mastermind groaned as she turned a few cars into robots.  "I can't tell from all these brats running around!"  She turned to Velvet, who was using her mind control powers to stun the running crowds.  "Didn't he tell you what he looked like?!"  Shouted Mastermind at the hooded villain.  She turned her head at the sound of Mastermind's voice.  "He said that you would be able to tell when he was nearby!"  She hissed to her big-headed accomplice.  Mastermind walked toward Velvet, grinding her teeth.  "Look," She snarled, jabbing a finger at Velvet's obsidian shawl. "I have better things to do than to argue with you over some dumb kid!  I could be building and army to finally destroy Tech E. Coyote and his annoying friends, the Loo-"

 

She was cut off by the sound of a motor running. It grew louder and louder until the two villains turned to see the Loonatics heading straight toward them.  Ace, Danger, Slam Tasmanian, and Lexi Bunny, on motorcycles, Rev sprinting ahead of the group, leaving a trail of small flames behind him, and Tech driving a custom car he built behind them.

 

"Speak of the Devil."  Velvet muttered as she formed a dark cloud above her with her powers, then she moved to the ground where it formed into several hooded minions.  "Destroy them!"  She shouted to the minions as she pointed to the Loonatics, who stopped moving and prepared for battle.  "I think you both are a little to old for day care!"  He joked as he, Danger and Rev ran toward the army of minions.  Tech, Lexi and Slam, however, were trying to fight Mastermind, who was using the metal around her to form two huge golems.  Slam turned into a spinning purple top and tried to destroy one of the golem's legs.  But it was of no use.  Tech looked at the golems that towered above him.  "Uh Tech?"  Lexi whispered.  "A little help here."  Tech glanced at the Loonmobile (Which was what he called it), and thought of an idea.  "You two distract the braincase while I bring the car here."  He whispered to Slam and Lexi.  "When I get it over here, I'll trigger the fuel valve and redirect it to the heat generator, thereby causing enough of an explosion to destroy the golems and to stop Mastermind.  The three heroes agreed silently before the put their plan to action.  Tech sprinted to the car, careful not to attract any attention.  When he got the car going, he set it to full speed and drove toward the 2 golems.  "Oh yeah!"  He thought.  "This plan is flawless."  He reached for a pistol he kept at the floor and when he raised his head to watch where he was driving he saw him.

 

A boy, probably about 18 years old with blond hair and blue eyes was running in front of him when he noticed him.  The boy flew over Tech's car and fell flat onto the street.  Tech, shocked and worried got out of the car and ran toward the boy.  "Please be okay, please be okay." He said again and again in his thoughts.  He kneeled over the boy and checked his pulse.  When he felt the faint vibration pulse through his paw, he let out a sigh of relief.  Lexi looked over to see what was taking Tech so long and gasped.  "TECH!"  She screamed.  Tech lifted his head and looked at Lexi.  "Behind you!"  Tech turned his head to see the huge head of mastermind, looking down at him on top of a truck.  "Hello, mutt!"  She hissed.  "It seems you were useful after all!"  She laughed.  Tech clenched his fist and growled softly.  "What do you mean by that?"  He snarled to the villain.  "Oh nothing!  It's just that that witch over there and I were just looking for him, that's all."  She snorted.  "Now, would you kindly hand him over please?"  Tech ignored the question.  Suddenly, all the metal in the area began to glow green.  Then, it began to move apart.  The truck fell apart, causing Mastermind to fall on the hard asphalt.  The golems collapsed.  Lexi was carried out the rubble by Slam and they ran to Tech's side.  "You mean you destroyed an orphanage, tried to hurt my friends, and endangered the lives of children, so you could hunt down a boy who might be hurt?"  He hissed.  Lexi gasped as all the ruined metal began to gather toward Tech.  His entire body glowed green, but his eyes were burning with anger.  Lexi got worried, she never saw Tech act this way before.  Not even over his machines. Tech then set his gaze to also look at Velvet, who ran to Masterminds side.

 

"You make me sick."  He muttered.

Tech flung the metal exactly where the two villains were standing. It fell on them with a large crumbling sound.  Tech stood looking over the pile of metal before stumbling over.  "Tech!"  Lexi ran to help Tech up as the other Loonatics ran toward the rubble.  "Wow Tech!"  Ace said with a chuckle.  "Who knew you had it in you!"  Tech stood upright and walked toward the pile of metal.  Using his powers, he shaped the I-beams of the orphanage back into their original shape.  "So, are Mastermind and Black Velvet dead?"  Ace asked after a few minutes of silence.  Tech hesitated before he spoke.  "No."  He said lifting the boy in his arms.  "Black Velvet teleported herself and Mastermind before they got crushed."  He rested the boy into the back seat of the car.  "Lexi, you come with me so you can monitor the boy, we'll get your motorcycle later."  He presses a button on his wristband and the motorcycle locked itself down.  "Hold on doc,” Ace protested.  "Shouldn’t we take him to a hospital first?"  "No."  Tech responded.  "It's too dangerous; we must take him to the base at once."  He got into the car with Lexi and drove off.  Danger looked at Ace, shrugged and went off with Slam and Rev.  And after a brief hesitation, got on his motorcycle and drove off to the base.  Where their greatest mission yet would begin.
