Cassidy smiled, looking out over the lake. "This will be the first time since I was twelve that I've seen fireworks..." She mused outloud, half to herself.

Tech gazed at her softly. "Really?"

"Yeah, at least... that I can remember...."

Tech placed his hand under her chin, lifting her head so her eyes met his. "Well, I see fireworks alot...."

"Huh?"

"Everytime I look at you..."

Icy corssed her arms as se sat back. "Well, can you fly us down?"

Rev shook his head. "I need my arms open to do that."

Just then all the lights in the fair went off and all but a large stereo playing music for the mood could be heard. Icy perked her ears up as she listened. "Oh! I love this song! It's not Avril but its one of my faves!"

Rev listened. It was "Chemicals React". He nodded. "Yeah, I've heard it on your ipod. Nice...." He looked over at Icy and her face lit up bright with blue and white as the first two fireworks were shot off. She gasped and turned her head, staring out at the ocean and sky. The water reflected the fireworks as they burst out in light.

Rev wasn't paying attention though. The music, the fireworks, the veiw....the girl.

Icy turned her head to smile at him and point to where a smiley face firework was set off and Rev quickly leaned forward with absoltely no control, his lips meeting with Icy's.

Icy was taken aback and was shocked at first and Rev would have pulle back if it hadn't been to late. He flinched as she brought her hand up, thinking she was gonna hit him...but instead she touched his cheek and passionatly kissed him back.

Cassidy blushed furiously and wrapped her arms around Tech's neck. Tech kept his one arm around Cassidy's waist while the other stroked her hair.

Tech gave her a goofy, lopsided smile before touching his nose to hers.... then kissing her deeply.

Rev brought her closer. He had been wanng to do that for so long and he didn't even realie it. The two kissed eachother until the music died and the fireworks went out.

The lights didn't com back on. The park was closing and the machanics were still trying to figure out how to get the ferris wheel going again.

Icy leaned into Rev and he put his arm around her as they looked out over the ocean. "....how long?"

Rev shrugged. "I really have no clue."

Icy giggled. "Same here..." She became very solemn an she was about to sit up but Rev gently broguht her closer. She looked up at him with worried blue eyes. "This changes things you know..."

Rev kissed her forehead. "Yeah, but I think for the better...."

Icy smiled. For once the warmth wasnt bothering her and she snuggled into Rev...

Ozzie sat back with his amrs behind his head. "I think I've done good."

Part way through the firework show, Cassidy had fallen asleep on Tech's chest. Tech sighed happily and layed back down on the grass, continuing to stroke Cassidy's head. His hand wandered down her arm until it reached her belly. Tech smiled. He could have sworn he felt a small heartbeat inside.

Icy and Rev leaned into each other, just enjoying the silence and being with each other. Icy closed her eyes and burried her face into Rev's red sweatshirt when suddenly he gave out a harsh gasp. She looked up and the roadrunner was clutching his chest.

Icy cried out an shook him. "Rev?! Rev! Waht's wrong!?" But by this time he was baely conciouse. She called down to thre crew working on the ferris wheel. "HELP! I need help! My friend needs medical attention! Help!"

Ozzie gasped as he sat up and looked over his shoulder to where the fox and roadrunner were. His jewel glowed and a beam of light shot out of it intpo the ferris wheel and it started up, gonjg down fastr then it was supposed to.

The ride came to a stop and hree men helped left Rev out of the cart and then one was nice enough to help Icy out as well. One of them had already called the hospital and they could here sirens in the distance.

Rev was placed onh the ground and Icy shook him, tring to keep him awake. "Rev! Revster!"

Cassidy's head shot up. She could hear sirens. but that's not what woke her up. "Tech! Tech! I think something's wrong!"

Tech blinked, sitting up. He heard the sirens. "What do you think is going on?"

"Icy.... I can tell she's upset.."

"How?"

I don't know! I just have this weird feeling in my stomach that says it!" She stood up and took off towards the ferris wheel.

"Cass! Wait up!" Tech shouted, picking himself up off the ground and running after her.

But Cassidy was much too fast and found Icy and Rev first. "Icy! Rev! What happened?!"

The whole team and company had seen the comotion and ran over to see what was going on. Icy was trying not to cry, Tech was kneeling by his friend checking his vital signs, and Mairi....was running in a little cirlce with her hands gripping her head freaking out.

Tech felt for Rev's heart beat. "I think it's the poison!"

The ambulence pulled up and two guys came out of the back with a stretcher. They lifted the roadrunner gently onto it and hurried into the vehicle.

Tech tapped one of there shoulder as they went in. He held up his Loonatics Membership card. "Tech E. Coyote. I think I know what's wrong so I'll need to ome with you..." It wasnt a question and the man let him in. Icy came up behind him. "I'm going too...Ozzie!"

"Yeah!" the ferret ran up Icy's leg and onto her shoulder. Teh fox then got into the ambulence.

Cassidy came up to the back and stared worridly. "Tech...is he--"

"He's going to be fine." Tech said in a oothing voice, leaning out and kissing her forehead. "Go with the others. We'll catch up with you later..."

With that the nurses closed the back of the ambulence and the vehicle took off.

Cassidy stared after the ambulance as it went rushing away to the hospital. Lexi came up behind the coyote and hugged her gently. "If Tech says he's gonna be fine, you know he'll be fine.."

Lexi turned and looeked at the others solemnly. "Well now what?"

Ace un crossed his arms and nodded to the car. "We go back to th hotel then we can see them tomorrow. I think until then we should at the very least PRETEND we're having fun."

Duck clapped sarcastically and spun his finger in the air. "Whoopiii....."

Icy waited outside the emergency room in completely bumbed. She knew Rev wasgoing to be okay. Tec would make sure of that. Right?

Ozzie lying over her shoulder and he looked at her face solemnly. He cringed and sniffled. Icy heard it right next to her ear and turned. "Ozzie? Why are you crying?"

Ozzie sniffled and whiped at his eyes. "Because, I stopped the ferris wheel. If he hadnt been up there he could have gotten here faster and I really messed up and I'm really really sorry and--"

Icy cut him off with a giggle. "Don't be! It's fine. He's gonna be okay.....I'm actuly glad you did that."

Ozzie sniffled one last time before giving her a small smile. "Really?"

Icy brought him down and gave him a hug. "Really you sneeky little Cupid weasel!"

Ozzie suddenly brightened up as he rubbed his jewel. "Hey! I think I know how to help your love bird in there...."

Cassidy kept staring at the ground silently, trailing Mairi like a lost puppy. Tech almost ALWAYS took her with him on stuff like this, but he must've thought that the stress would have been too much on her, being the way she was at the time.....

Ace looked at her. "Oh boy.... She's got the sad puppy look again." He sighed.

Cassidy gave Lexi a small smile. "Okay.." She silently followed Lexi and the others back to the hotel.

Icy came up to the door an knocked. "Tech? an I come in?"

A doctor opened the door and Icy could see Tech and three other surgents in the room in deep discussion. Icy walked in with Ozzie on her shoulder and the coyote smiled up at her. "Um, hey Ice. Now's not the best time but--"

"But nothing! I need a word with you..." She pulled Tech out of the room and into the hall where it was diserted.

"Okay, I'll bite. What's up?"

Icy held Ozzie up."I think Ozzie can help Rev. He says he has healing powers." Ozzie grinned and waved.

Tech stared at him blankly and then blinked shaking his head. "Sorry, Icy, but I really am still sceptic that he can even really talk."

"What?!" Ozzie fumed and his stone lit up furiously. Tech yelped as he was lifted two feet off the ground in a whirl of wind. "Whoa! Hey!"

Ozzie put him down and crossed his arm. "Welllll...."

Tech sighed. "Go right on in." He opened the door for the fox and the ferret.

Mairi half skipped, half walked through the corridors of the hotel. On one side, she'd just spent a wonderful day with Duck and the team. On the other side, Rev was in a life-treatening position.

When placed in situations as serious as this, she'd usually say the wrong thing. It was in her nature to be happy but there were simply times when overt cheerfulness just wasn't appropriate.

She had to think carefully about her actions. She didn't want to look as though she didn't care...

The lyrebird spun around to face the group trailing behind her.

"Who wants to order pizza??" She asked excitedly. The team stared at her blankly, faces solemn.

"Oh flop." She muttered, scratching her head awkwardly.

Ace looked around at the others, then broadly grinned with his arms in the air. "ER, hey! You know what! That's a great idea! Lets al go out for pizza! My treat!"

Duck's eyes lit up. "Well in that case, I want two pizzas with the lot."

Lexi frowned. "Duck. You RARELY even eat more than TWO slices... What's up with wanting TWO pizzas???" She questioned.

"I just figured that if Ace is paying..." The mallard trailed off as a wicked grin crossed his face. }8D

Ace's eye twitched but he grinned and put two thumbs up. "Dats da spirit!"

Icy and Ozzie entered and Tech cleared the rest of the doctors out. He closed the door behind them and locked it, walking back over to where Icy was standing next to Rev's bed.

The roadrunner was breathing harshly and his face was crinckled from the pain and damp from the sweat. Ozzie climbed down from Icy's shoulder and then onto Rev's stomach. He paced on the bird up and down, examining him and checking his vital signs.

Ozzie shook his head "I'm very limited. The poison in him I can cure easily but the bullet you'll need to get out on your own. You said it was...invisible?"

Tech nodded. "Yeah. Very hard to detct and the position it's in above the hert is really dangerous."

Ozzie waved a paw at him as his stone glowed. "Leave that part to me. Watch the X-Ray screen..." The ferret's stone glowed and suddenly the liv X-Ray screen showed a small flivkering spot above Rev's heart where the bullet was. "

Icy hugged the ferret. "You-are-a-mazing!"

The ferret blushed.

Tech took hold of some medical impliments, then began a small procedure, reopening the entry wound and using Ozzie's powers to guide to the bullet. In a matter of minutes, the roadrunner was relieved of the invisible piece of metal.

"Now, about that poison..."

Ace glanced over at Cassidy. "Eh, kiddo, you want some pizza too?"

Cassidy blinked. "Oh, yeah, please... Pizza sounds good."

Ozzie took a deep breath and shut his eyes. He put one paw down on Rev's chest and another on his jewel. It started glowing and pulsing. Gold light streamed from his jewel into his furry arm and then into Rev's body.

Icy and Tech stepped back completely freaked out as the ferret and bird started to glow. The gold light got brighter. Ozzie's furr bristled on end with the magic charge and his brow furrowed as he pushed it out of him as much as he could.

There was a sudden flash of light and then it all faded away...

Tech and Icy stared but then Tech looked at the sceen. "...WHAT?! Unbeleivable! Its gone! The poison, the injuries, even some of the older wounds Rev had in breaking his bone as a kid hit the road. Amazing! I-I can't even express how impressed I am. Oh Icy, you really need to let me run some tests on him, because that is one incrdible ferret..."

Ozzie huffed and puffed out of breath as he grinned meekl up at them. The his eye rolled back and he fell backwards unconciouse.

As Icy cradled the ferret in her arms, Rev's eyes slowly fliskered open. He glanced around the room hazily, not quite sure where he was or what was going on.

"Tech? Ice? Wha... What happened?" He asked, his words slurring slightly.

Meanwhile, all the others had ordered pizza. They had split the pizzas evenly and the girls went to one room and the boys to the other.

Cassidy was sitting on one of the beds, slowly munching on her peice. She felt... weird, to say the least. She wasn't sure how to describe the strange feeling in her stomach. Deciding it was probably nothing, she kept eating.

Suddenly, her eyes widened. She dropped the half eaten peice of pizza on her plate and jumped off the bed in a hurry, running in the direction of the bathroom...

"You're not going to chunder, are you??" Mairi called after the coyote. The sound of wretching reached the group of girls moments later. Lexi and Quick dropped their slices of pizza, their appetite ruined.

The lyrebird dashed into the bathroom and nestled herself behind Cassidy, holding her hair away from her face and stroking her back soothingly.

Cassidy coughed a couple of times before leaning against Mairi, who was the closest thing at the moment. She felt dizzy and her legs wobbled underneath her. "Th- thanks.. Mazz.." She whispered, still trying to catch her breath.

Cassidy gave her one last smile before wobbling out of the bathroom and to the bed she had been sitting on. She flopped down on it on her back. Then she lifted her hand. "Uh, if it makes any difference, Lexi, Quick.... the pizza didn't make me sick...."

Suddenly, her cell phone rang. She rolled over slowly before answering it. "Cassidy......... Hey Tech! How is Rev and Icy?..... uh-huh.... Really?! That's so great! We were all so worried about him!....... yeah..... I'm with Mazz, Lexi, and Quick...... we were having pizza....... yes I do!................ You should know that by now!.... uh-huh... yeah.... See you soon...." She paused to glance at the girls, who were giving her curious looks and blushed. ".... I love you too.... Bye..." And with that, she hung up.
