Rev mocked a whisper and winked. "There are a lot of horses at the carnival."

Quick blinked as she watched the roadrunner whisper, having NO CLUE as to what he could've said.

She bent her head down towards Slam and Mairi's faces and whispered.

"I bet it was eggs."

Slam stared questioningly.

Cassidy smiled. "Thanks Rev...." She giggled a bit. "That's almost as good as when you told me that Tech can't go on any fast ride without almost throwing up!" She said, then tickled Tech's neck.

"Hey!" Tech protested. "That's not my fault! At least I try!"

Icy laughed at this last comment. "OOOH! POWNED! XD"

Ace smiled as he looked at everyone through the rearveiw mirror. "Hey gang, who's getting hungry?"

A shout of me's and a show of hands came up and the bunny cheuckled. "Okay then, we can stop for lunch now....Oh! Here we go! There's a dinner coming up right herer..." Ace pulled the bus to the side of the road and into a small parkinglot where a classic looking dinner stood, tiny compared to the desert mass.

As everyone got out of the van, Tech took Cassidy's hand in his. Cassidy blushed as they followed the others into the dinner, still holding hands.

(Brain fart... That's all I could come up with... I guess you guys don't mind the mild Tessidy fluff, do ya?)

Mairi sighed sadly. "It would have been better if it were Maccas."

Duck glared at her. "You... Are fat. So very, very fat."

Mairi snuggled the mallard, despite the insult. "Do I repulse you?"

"Yes."

"Do my fat rolls disgust you?"

"Yes."

"And you're still with me inspite of it all?"

"... Is that a trick question?"

"Does this mean I can continue putting on weight?"

"Not at all."

"Oh. Well. Fine then." Here, she shoved him away and continued walking to the diner on her own.

Quick chuckled as she came up behind and pushed the mallard out of her way as well.

"Haha, Duck."

Icy made sure to slap Duck over the side of the head in passing.

The fox then looked around at the desert nervously. She shuffled herslef quickly inside to where the AC was and sighed with releif.

The group all sat at two large tables as they waited for the waitress.

Duck scrolled through the menu in disgust. "Everything on here will give me thunder thighs!"

Ace rolled his eye but then noticed that Rev was sweating more then Icy was. "Hey, Rev. You alright?"

Rev looked up with his wide green eyes. "Huh. Oh, nothin. It's just kinda hot in here..."

Ace raised an eyebrow, unconvinced. Mhmm..."

Tech looked to Rev suspiciously. "You don't have a temperature, do you?" He asked, reaching for the roadrunner's forehead.

Rev tried to pull away from him. "No, I don't have a temp. I'm fine! It's the deseert. It gets warm."

Icy huffed from her over her menu. "Tell me anout it..."

Tech crossed his arms when he felt the roadrunner's temperature. "Do you need to go home?"

"Yes ma..."

"Heeey..." Ace cut in between the two started a fight. "If Rev starts feeling sick we'll send him home. But a little it of a temperature in the desert dosn't prove much so lets just test how his appetite is."

Icy looked up from her menu at Rev. He seemed a little touchier then usual...

Cassidy felt really hungry, but wasn't sure what she wanted to eat. She nudged Tech, who was sitting beside her. "What are you having?"

"Huh?" Tech blinked. "Oh... probably the hamburger.." He said with a shrug. "Why? Do you want the same thing?"

Cassidy nodded, resting her head on his shoulder. Tech began to feel slightly worried. Everyone knew what was bugging Cassidy, but it was taking Tech for quite a spin. She was a bit moody at times, and her appetite changed like crazy. Tech kissed her cheek and whispered. "You sure you're feeling up to this?"

Cassidy nodded again. It was becoming common for her to be quiet like that..... But Tech couldn't help but feel worried... One sick teammate was enough for him...

(Cut and pasted coz I didn't feel up to writing a whole other little thing... but I added to it a bot..)

Lexi looked over at the two Coyotes and smiled a bit, it was a little of a worried smile, but also a happy one. She just knew this day was going to be great.

The bunny looked down at her menu, still unsure of what she should order. She decided to take the same route Cassidy did and ask someone else.

"Hey Quick," she asked the mouse sitting scross from her, "what are you ordering?"

Quick put down her menu, slid it a little bit away from her and leaned back in her chair with a happy grin.

"Cheeeeeese Fries" she smiled big.

Lexi blinked, and then inwardly sighed. 'That was sorta a stupid question' (-____-;)

Mairi sat, bopping her head, watching the exchange blankly.

Slam glanced her way. "Grabulah own world?"

Lexi grinned. "She DOES look like she's off in her own little world."

"Ignore her. She's trying to work out how hungry she is." Duck mumbled, not even glancing up from his menu.

"I'm sorry." She apologised, nonchalantly, not really focussing on the conversation. Something was tugging at the back of her mind and she wasn't realy sure what.

Even though seemed kinda dazed and tired, Cassidy was paying attention. "Can't get enough cheese, can ya, Quick?" She said with a giggle.

Duck muttered: "I could say something about that-"

But Tech interjected with: "Don't. Just don't." He then glared angrilly at the Duck's implied innuendo.

Had the waiter given him that specific menu? How stereotypical!

Carrot. Hm. The word was starting to look weird to him…

"Don't. Just don't.” He blinked, and turned his head slightly before snapping it right back. Not them. Oh please, not them. Hoping to evade an encounter, he stood, grabbed his coat, and-

“Hey, Shadow!”

He paused. ****.

(Would’ve put him on the bus, but…I was late. So instead, he came to eat =3 Now, who called his name, I have no idea XD)

Lexi looked up from her menu. "Oh cool! He made it..."

"What are ya doin over therer?" Icy asked with a winning smile. "Come sit with us!"

Frada The Ferret · Out of This World

(Frada called his name Lolz, she's there too!)
Frada, Lola and Bob walked up to the 'Tic's table. "Hey guys!" She said, sitting down. "I'm glad you arranged to meet us here because of Bob having his Lime-helmet servaced."
"Hey, no problem." Tech said. "Rev's looking up, though so's his temperature." Frada sighed and looked over at Lola and her salad. As usual, Lola was only eating the purple lettuce.(Lol, that's what I do!) "hey, Moody Bunny!" Duck called, again.

Icy laughed as Fradda sat down nesxt to her. "Hey girls!...and guy. ^^"

A waitress with red hair up in a rediculous do came up to the table. "Anyone ready to order? Or maybe you'd like some beverages..."

Icy put her menu down and looked up at her. "I would like a large bowl of Rocky Road icecream, some cold tomato soup, and a blue rasberry smoothie as a beverage. ^^"

Rev rested his head on his hand as he glanced up at the waitress. "I'll have what's she's having..."

Silently sighing, the rabbit pulled up a chair. "Gimme a carrot juice...," he ordered, and then quickly muttered, "Looks like yer kind wants me to anyways..." The waitress rose an eyebrow.

"What was that?"

"Nothin'."

(I know I'm not allowed but I'm gonna need to use Quick for what I'm going next ^^)

Icy leaned back in her seat as the others listed off what they wanted for lunch when she looked out the window. A large colorful truck was pulling up at the gas pump that had the word "Acme Carnival" on it.

Icy smiled and was bout to inform the others when she noticed thomething strange. Some of the men thta got out went into the back of the truck where there were a ton of different boxes covered with cloth. Why would they be trying to hide there stuff?

Icy got up. "Um, I need to use the little gilr's room. Quick, can you come with me?"

Quick stood as well. "Sure..."

Ace and Duck exchanged odd glances. "Why do they always have to go in packs?"

Frada raised her eyebrows at Ace and Duck... then followed Icy. She'd seen The men and the boxes, too. And after living on the streets for four years as a young child, she knew that when things were covered up, it was a very suspicious thing.

Tech pointed to Cassidy and said, "Two cheeseburgers please." He glanced back at Cassidy to see her eyes flickering. She was falling asleep. Being up late a night throwing up was not fun for her. He stroked her head gently, trying to get her to go to sleep.

Shadow rolled his eyes, and rested his head on his hands, bored. Great. Most of the girls had gone off to pamper themselves, and he was stuck watching the two love birds. Made him sick. Why did girls always need to go in packs anyways?

Icy, Quick, and Frada pocked their heads out from the sde of the building.

Quick crossed her arms. "Remind me what we're doing again?"

Icy pointed to the truck. "I think they're hiding something in there. I brought you out so you can rush in there and take a peak without anyonme noticing..."

Quick nodded. "Si!" (pardon my poor use of the spanish language XD) She zipped off in a cloud of dust and cam back merely a second later.

"Animals!" Quick said horrified. "All kinds of them. In really tiny cages. Too tiny. I saw this one animal that was a ferret like you Fradda, but smaller, and he had not even enough room to lie down! D8"

Rev raised an eyebrow at Shadow. "Sheesh, what got up your butt?"

Duck snickered under his breath. "More like what didn't...."

Icy's eyes widened. "You serious? That's animal abuse...."

Frada tapped there shoulders. "Uh, guys. Truck's moving off...."

The truck driver had gotten back into the vehicle and was driving off.

Quick started to go after it but Icy held her back by the tail. "No, we don't want to cause a scene. Look, we know they are going to the Carnival so we'll do something about it there. Let's go tell the otheres..."

Shadow glowered at the mallard quickly before resting his head on the table. "How long does it take for that freakin' chick to bring the freakin' drinks?" he grumbled.

Tech gave Shadow one last glare, deciding it better not to encourage the rabbit's bad attitude. He sighed before returning his attention to Cassidy, who was fast asleep against his arm.

Icy, Frada, and Quick ran in. "Guys, you won't beleive this..."

Quietly the three told the others what they saw. Ace nodded solemnly and leaned back. "well then, while we're there we'll just have to check into it. Watch there show, see if there's anything unusual. and then afterwards we'll go snoop around in the back to find some evidence."

Icy moaned. "This is why I never liked circuses. Performing animals are still treated badl after all these years..."

Cassidy blinked, then yawned and stretched. "So... what did I miss?" She asked.

A couple later everyone had eaten and were willing to get back on the road...except Cass who was tired of being carsick. Tech then let Cassidy sit up front where she could keep her eyes on the road and gave her some meds to settle her tummy.

Icy sat next to Rev, staring out the window at the rolling desert. It was starting to get dark and the sunset made the whole scene look abslolutely gorgouse with reds and golds and pinks and purples. It was hard to tell wich was the desert and wich was the sky...

She suddenly got extremely sleepy and yawned. Maybe she shouldn't have stayed up so late watching horror flics wth Duck. Her head bowed and she ndded off, leaning into Rev as she slept.

The roadrunner looked down puzzled at first put smiled when he saw she had fallen asleep. He yawned as well and did the same.

Ace at Cass. She was asleep as well. He looked through the rearveiw mirror. The only ones who were awake were Tech and Shadow.

And, shockingly enough, the two sat as far way as possible; Tech, up front with Ace and Cassidy; Shadow, brooding in the back, staring out the window.

Tech kept a close eye on Cassidy, thinking over the info Icy and the girls had given them. What if it was true? What if those animals were being treated wrong? He knew one thing for sure, the girls would never leave until they were certain the animals were safe...

Ace smiled but it went away fast when the sound of the engine started to fail. "Uh, Tech? Why does it sound like the engine just stopped?"

Tech snickered from hius seat. "Well, that would be because the engine just stopped."

Cassidy was jolted from her sleep. "Huh?" She mumbled, blinking.

Tech ruffled her hair. "Don't worry, probably just a small engine malfunction..." ANd with that, he proceeded to get out of the bus to check the engine....

Ace un buckled and got out with him into the dark.

Everyone in the bus woke up and wondered outside to stretch their legs.

Duck looked around at the pitch black, shuddered, and then summoned a couple of his "Eggs" to put off a dim orange light.

Lexi rubbed her arms. "Whew! For a desert it gets real cld here..."

Icy beamed. "I know huh?! Isn't it great!?"

Cassidy shivered slightly as she followed Icy silently around the bus a couple times. Her legs ached, feeling like she hadn't ran or jumped or even skipped in years. She pretty much hadn't, feeling sick almost every day. In fact, today's mission would be her last for several months, Ace had decided the ordeal was too much for her.
