I remember having braces like you. They're painful at first. But once you have them on for a while, the pain goes away. It's hard to eat with them as well. You can't chew gum, eat hard foods or drink too much acidic drinks. Depending on how bad your teeth are, you could either have them for either a short or a really long time.
I know how you feel, the first day I wore my braces my brother nearly went deaf with my whining. Including February its been like, *counting fingers* 5 months since then.
