Quick smiled a closed mouth smile at Sapphire. Oh Seth always wanted to make sure she was ok. He was so sweet to her.

Quick just wished she could honestly smile and laugh about it at the time, because inside a little fear was still eating away at her. Falling off her horse.

Quick kept her head up and her fists practically connected to the reins.
'Don't look down' she thought.

In Ace's team, Lexi rode Ghost confidently beside the agent, who looked uncomfortable atop her large stallion.

"If your nervous, your horse will sense it and be nervous too, Agent Dasyurus." She warned in a friendly tone.

"Gee, thanks for telling me that."

"Listen here, sister..." Duck began, a very annoyed expression upon his face. "Can we call you something else besides Agent Dassie-Uri-soo-soo or whatever??"

The female turned and shot Duck a cold look. "Dasyurus. And no. You may not."

"Where are you from?" Lexi asked curiously.

"Acme New Guinea." She answered evenly.

"Where the heck is THAT?" Duck asked grouchily.

"Far away from the rock you crawled out under." the agent mumbled, clutching her reins in frustration.

"What was that??"

"Nothing. Never mind. Let's focus on the task ahead."

"Yes, let's." Lexi grinned, having heard what had been said.

(I didn't mean for her to hate Duck. XD)

Back with Seth's team, they group was travelling at a quite slow pace since the road had by now completely dissapeared and they were moving through some thick bushes that nearly blocked the animal trail.

They travelled in silence for some time, throwing glances at each other to make sure no one was left behind. After around 13 minutes of silence, Sapphire was suddenly nearly jerked of Twilight when she suddenly stopped moving. The mare snorted loudly, backing off.

Sapphire cluthed on to the reins when the other horses suddenly began snorting too. Quick looked utterly terrified at that point and Seth and Slam exchanged glances.

It had been a long time since Sapphire had rode a horse, and yet, she remembered clearly something she had read about them just before they took off for the mission.

Horses snort when they sensed danger.

She glanced up at Ben. If anyine should know horse behaviour, HE should. He looked around him cautiusly and finally met her gaze. He made simple hand gestures and she quickly got his point.

'Don't make a peep and try to calm the horses down. If anything happens, well, we're just gonna have to deal with it.'

(I actually searched the net for each individual sounds horses make XD)

Meanwhile, in the north end of the forest, Tech was leading the way through the thick vegetation, with Icy trailing him on Domino, Rev and Rusty behind her, and Cassidy bringing up the rear.

Suddenly, Cassidy was flung forward in the saddle as Phantom froze. The mare's ears were pricked forward, her eyes bright and alert. Cassidy leaned on her neck. "Tell me girl... where is it?" She whispered.

Phantom kept silent, eyes locked on the surrounding brush. Cassidy knew she wasn't afraid, due to her silent nature and calm heartbeat, which she could feel from the mare's neck.

Tech, Icy and Rev had stopped their mounts and were watching their surroundings for anything.

Rev's eyes glowed bright red as his GPS turned on. He gasped. "Guys! They're right-"

The roadrunner wasn't able to finish, as three men on horseback jumped out from the trees straight for them. They were dressed in black, with black bandana's around their mouths, keeping them from being identified beyond 'man on horseback in black.'

Cassidy pulled on Phantom's reins just a tiny bit, and Phantom respoded by backing up two steps and lifting her front feet in the air, ears pinned back and everything. "Let's get them, girl!"

(Xtream, Ace's group will be stumbling upon one of the herds of wild horses, only to see a group of wranglers go after them, so they give chase to protect the horses.. and I was gonna have something similar for Seth's group, but it looks like Sapph's got a better idea ^^)

As the snorting began Seth gasped and looked around. He always saw this in the old western movies, all the horses started to snort and somthing came lunging towards them. Nez snorted the loudest of them, stomping her hooves and shaking her head. And just like that, she was off cantering without the alchemist's permission. He yelped in fear as the horse sped away from his team.
'Oh CRAP.'

'PULL ON THE REINS!' screamed a randome voice in Seth's head.
"WHAT'RE REINS!??" he questioned said voice.
'The things you use to steer the horse!' he screeched again.
Seth grabbed onto the leather ropes and pulled hard. Nez winnied and only ran faster.

The rest of Seth's team stood back as their team leader dissapeared from view. "Awwww maaaaan," Sapphire said.

However something else caught their attention, it was a faint rustling sound and unless Sapphire's ears failed her, she could hear the faint sound of something being pulled back, like a trigger.

The team reared back in forming a slight circle, in this position they could easily see if anyone was sneaking up on them from any direction. Sapphire and Quick were in general facing the other while Slam was facing away from the two girls.

Ben however stood slightly behind both girls and looked behind them just in case. So fast that at first even he didn't see it 2 guns appeared almost at the same time from the bushes, aiming at the 2 girls whose back was turn.

Ben knew he had to act fast.

Seth then appeared, flying through the air on top of Nez they knocked down the people with guns.
"Seth Coyote to the rescue!" the alchemist announced, but a gun was pointed straight at his face seconds later.
"Oh cra-"

"Back off buster!" Sapphire shouted suddenly making the group nearly jump out of their skins. With a flash of light, the gun flew out of the man's hand and flew through the air, before Quick caught it with her free hand.

Defenseless, he tried to back away, but when he was so easily out numbered that was not an option. Just as things were getting better, suddenly, it got much worst.

Rev's eyes suddenly glowed bright red and he ****ed his head to the side in confusion. "...huh?! What the heck are they doing?"

"What are you talking about?" Icy asked, not looking up from trying to pull the rest of her sandwich away from her ferret.

Rev raised an eyebrow. "Well...for some reason some of the other's are freaking out and running around in circles..."

Tech rolled his eyes. "Seeeeth....."

Ace stared down at his wrist communicator. "Dey've been too quiet. Maybe I should give dem a buzz... Just ta make sher..."

"C'mon Ace! Stop worrying about THEM and worry about US! This place is giving me the heebie-jeebies." Duck insisted, glaring at the surrounding forest in contempt, trying desperately to mask his fear.

"The duck is chicken?" Agent Dasyurus turned to Lexi and asked, causing the bunny to giggle.

"HEY!"

"Quiet guys! I see some light. We must be comin' to a clearin' or somet'in'..." Ace held out a hand behind him to signal for them to keep silent.

"I hear breathing." Lexi whispered, her long ears glowing a soft pink as they scanned the area.

"Dis is it, gang. Man yer weapons."

"What weapons??"

"Chill, Duck."

"T'ree... Two... One..."

In a large and dramatic action, the team burst forth from the woods and galloped into an enormous meadow. 8 pairs of eyes turned to the group startled, and the team stopped their racing horses and stared back.

The horses they'd just come against quickly became frightened and scattered in fear. Lexi's face beamed.

"Wild horses!" She exclaimed excitedly. "Awe! We frightened them!"

"I think they frightened me more." The agent held her chest and tried to slow her heart rate.

"HA! Scared of a couple of ponies, Dassie-what's-it??" Duck scoffed, ignoring Ace's irritated glare.

"No, wary of large and potentially harmful creatures as opposed to being worried about lush and inviting woodland." She shot back in the eerily calm way she spoke. Duck thought for a moment, unsure of whether he'd been insulted or not.

"Gang, I got an idea. Dese horses will most likely be targeted by dose wranglers Mr. Boswell told us about-" Lexi's ears drooped slightly upon hearing this. "I'm t'inkin' we lie in wait, and den follow dose guys after dey steal da horses. Dat way, we can find where dey're keepin' dem... Locating deir hide-out and coming face-to-face wit' dis powerful figure-"

"You're accent is strange. What is it supposed to be?" Dasyurus interjected, earning an approving laugh from Duck.

Ace sighed and lead Thunder back into the forest, situating himself behind a tree. The others followed close behind.

Tech raised his arm, holding out his gluco-gel gun. Just as he was about to fire, one of the wranglers fired his own at an almost Rev-like speed, blasting Tech's gun and sending it flying.

Phantom kept herself balanced on her back hooves, her front ones pointed forward, ready to lunge. Cassidy nudged her sides, and the mare leaped forward at another of the wranglers. The black-clothed man simply pulled out his lasso and tossed it at them. The rope landed around Phantom's neck, tightening snugly.

The mare pinned her ears back. She hated the feeling of the ropes around her neck. She began to rear and plunge. Cassidy grabbed a tight hold of the mare's cream and white mane as she tried desperately to stay on her now wild mount.

"Phantom, whoah! Please! Woah!!" She screamed as she felt herself slipping out of the saddle....

Icy jumped off Domino and the horse took off in the other direction in a daze as Icy froze the ground under the wrangler's horses. The horses whinnied and backed up, trying not to slip on the ice. Two of them reared back fearsly and their riders fell off.

Rev attempted to show off and lasso then but failed. Blushing he rolled his eyes, got down, and then wrapped the two up in it by hand.

Cassidy's cries fell on deaf ears as Phantom continued to plunge and kick. Finally, one big buck sent Cassidy flying in the air. She fell to the ground hard. "Omph!!" DX

Icy looked behind her shoulder and gasped. "Cass!" She fet her wrist lassoed but she used it to pull the guy off his saddle and to deal with Rev. Icy ran over to Cassidy and tried to help her up. "You okay?!"

"Yeah, just my pride got hurt..." She rubbed her head as she stood up. Phantom, not realizing that Cassidy was no longer in the saddle, had taken off at a wild gallop.

Tech came up to them on Lucky. "Ice, Rev, think you two can handle these guys for a sec?"

The tightly knitted group stood together in the middle of the clearing as the bushes and undergrowth around them parted allowing some men of horseback to approach them. The intruders were cloaked in a black cloth which didn't even show their faces.

The 3 men in the group shuffled around so that the 2 girls were in the center. As much as they knew they could take care of themeselves, but hey, better be safe than sorry, right?

"I feel like a member of Orginization 13!" Seth chuckled under his breat, leading the other to god knows where.
He heard trampling, a lot of it. But from where?
"Other horses?" Seth asked.

The sound of thundering hooves came closer to Seth's group (XD). Everyone turned around just when the sound seemed to come from right behind them.

"Move aside!" Ben suddenly shouted at the last possible minute.

The group didn't need telling twice, because at the very next second, a man on horseback suddenly appeared from behind them and leapt around so that he was facing the team. Their horses snorted loudly and Nez reared up on its hind legs nearly throwing the alchemist back.

"Back away slowly," Ben whispered through gritted teeth barely loud enough for the other's to hear.

"What?! There's only one of him and five of us, we can take him," Seth replied, not trying to keep his voice low.

Sapphire suddenly understood, "The horses, we can't risk them getting hurt."

Quick nodded, her face white with fear, "Besides, there's sure to be more." Just as she said it, a group of other 'man in black' appeared around them, blocking their exit forward and back.

Icy laughed as she stood. "What do you think!? I'll take them all on!"

"HEEEEELLLLLLPPPP!!!!!"

The three turned at the sudden scream and they saw Damino running in no particular direction with Ozzie hanging out of the sack waving his paws in the air.

Icy laughed nervously. "Er-on second thought. Rev. Cass. They're all yours....Hold your horses! I'm coming!" Icy ran after Domino to see if she could stop the rampaging stalion.

Seth growled, slapping his hands together he lept off of Nez. He slammed his hands to the ground, the ground beneath the man who blocked there exit crumbled and he fell into a hole. Mounting Nez quickly, Seth raced towards te hole and Nez swiftly leaped over it.
"Hurry!" he called back to the others.

Sapphire squeezed Twilight's side, however the mare didn't need telling twice when she took off after Nez. Pocco raced in front of her harboring a terrified Quick and Sapphire behind her who was clutching the reins for dear life.

However, when the reached the hole Twilight seemed to hesitate before leaping over. The split second hesitaton however caused her to slip from the saddle and fell with a loud thud on the ground.

Her blood froze as she looked up and was met with a sight she was never ready to see. Racing right toward her was Ben's horse, his eyes widening in horror.

(Poor girl, I guess I have a habbit of getting her in trouble)

Rev gave Tech and Cass a thumbs up. "Go ahead! I'll take care of these guys with one hand behind my back!"

Tech chuckled and held out his hand to Cassidy. "Wanna ride with me?"

Cassidy smiled, taking his hand and vaulting up on to Lucky's back. She wrapped her arms around Tech tightly as they took off after Phantom.

Phantom was in a state of panic, the lasso around her neck was now wrapping around her leg, threatening to trip her.

Cassidy brought her legs underneath her and jumped from Lucky's back to Phantom's. She grabbed hold of the reins and attempted to slow the panicked mare down. Lucky and Tech overtook them, turning in front of them so that Phantom had to stop. Cassidy glanced over Tech's head and saw a deep ravine a couple feet from them. She slid off of Phantom's back, kneeling beside her front left leg and untying the lasso that was caught around it.

Suddenly, the ground gave out from underneath Tech and Lucky, and they began to slide into the ravine. Cassidy hopped back into Phantom's saddle, swinging the lasso over her head. She let it go and it landed expertly around Lucky's neck. She tied it to her saddle like Ben had shown her and then backed Phantom up.

Tech leaned forward and pushed Lucky onward. "Come on, boy, you can do it."

The chestnut gelding's hooves slid in the soft ground, he struggled to keep himself standing. The ground kept giving out from underneath them, and the two kept sliding back.

"Come on, Lucky, up!!!" Tech urged.

With one last staggering effort, Lucky clambered onto solid ground with a slightly shaken, but overall unharmed Tech.

Cassidy and Tech both slid out of their saddles. Cassidy threw her arms around him. "You've scared me like that so many times you'd think I'd be used to it, but I'm not."

Tech hugged her back. "Well, just think, if it weren't for you, I wouldn't be in one piece right now."

Both Lucky and Phantom nudged their riders' backs, pushing them closer together. Tech chuckled. "You think they're hinting something?"

"I think so too," Cassidy beamed giving Tech a kiss on the cheek.

Tech chuckled, still holding her tightly. "Watch this. Any second now, Rev and/or Icy will suddenly pop up and give us heck for taking so long."

Just as he finished saying that sentence, both Rev and Icy appeared. They caught sight of the 2 and smiled, momentarily forgetting what they were going to say.

(My response is getting slower and slower. Also because Sapphire is still slightly peeved at me for making her fall of Twilight and not getting her out of there yet *tries to back away slowly*)

"Saphire!" yelled Seth, slapping his hands together and slamming them to the ground.
A wall appeared before Saphire, shielding her from the raging horse. But it caused Ben's horse to flip and Ben to collide to the ground next to Saphire.

Seth gasped at what he had just caused. He started to turn Nez around and help out Saph and the fallen rancher.

....

But there were...other problems.

"UhHhHhhH....GgGguYs," Quick said, her voice wavering with not only total fear, but with the bumps that were made as Pocco galloped, running away from the trouble.
Quick pracitally attatched herself to the saddle, she held the reins so tight the normally rust colored fur on her knuckles were exposing white skin...

"IiIi CcAaNt STtToOOoOoOoPpP!!!" she practically screamed, but was out of earshot, as Seth had already gone back to help the other fallen two of thier party.

and unfortunately... there was no little voice in her head to tell her to "Pull the reins"
