Something from my story 8D 'Just cuz I feel like it......

Angel talk

Arianna Star leaned against the couch in her home, feeling the stress of the day kick in. The unpacking, squabbling and general chaos of the day getting to her, she shut her eyes and took a deep breath to calm her nerves. Coming down to Acmetropolis after spending nearly all her life on another continent was really a culture shock for both her and her husband.

She pulled her fire red hair into a loose bun and looked around the little room. Already, the floor was littered with some of her daughters’ stuff; her teddy bear, crayons and picture books stood out on the pale cream carpet. She sighed, her poor little girl must be exhausted from all this, hence her crashing on her bed as soon as they got it in place.

“Mama,” Arianna blinked, before rubbing her eyes. Golly, I must be more tired than I thought, I’m hearing voices now, she thought tiredly, blinking through bleary eyes around her. “Mama,” this time she looked down when she felt a light tug on the hem of her skirt.

Her face creaked into a warm smile when she saw her small daughter, before picking her up and setting her down beside her, “Shouldn’t you be sleeping, sweetheart?” she asked, tilting her head sideways to look at her face. Sapphire rubbed her eyes tiredly yet shook her head, “I had a weird dweam mama.”

Arianna picked her up and sat her down on her lap so that they were facing each other, “Care to share dear?” she said, pushing away strands of black hair that had fallen in front of her daughters eyes. Little Sapphire Star was nothing like her mother in looks, most of her physical traits were descended from her dad, everything from her aqua blue eyes to her jet black hair.

However, she inherited nothing from his behavior, her father was quiet and timid, Sapphire was almost always hyper and playful. He was cautious and careful while she liked to experiment and had a genuine curiosity streak that she had inherited from her mother.

Sapphire yawned sleepily before saying, “Mama, do angels talk?”

A puzzled look passed over the elder woman’s face before she continued, “I had a dweam that… that I was sitting in a room. Twen I saw something bwight enter. He had wings…. and… and he had a big glowy thing on his head,” at this, the little girl made an imaginary circle on top of her head, much to the amusement of her mother, “He was beautiful mama,” her tone changed as she got a far away look in her eyes, as if remembering a particularly pleasing memory.

“Well, what happened next sweetheart?” her mother asked patiently, forcing back a smile. “He just stood there, then I woke up,” she said, looking at her mother with bright blue eyes.

“Can angels talk?” she asked again.

“I guess they could, I’ve never actually seen a real angel,” she said apologetically. “What do angels do mama?” she asked again, before moving around so that she was leaning against her mother.

“They look after us and protect us,” she said softly, however she could tell that her little girl was not yet satisfied, “Do you believe in angels sweetheart?”
